Excellent overview of an exciting new merit badge for Scouts. This merit badge is probably meant for older scouts. In fact, it closely follows the design steps and skills required in FRC - FIRST Robotics Competition, as well as others geared towards High School ages. Though the requirements could be fulfilled by participating in programs meant for younger ages, more involvement in the design process would be required of older Scouts. This merit badge will be extremely fun and educational for many boys today. I enjoyed very much working with youth in a robotics program. I am glad there is now a merit badge for this field.
