When the one person standing between you and true love is the wife you never knew you had…
When Aisha travels to Las Vegas with her fiancée Kris, all she wants is to get married. The venue is booked. The music has been chosen. The flowers are perfect. The guests are arriving.
On the casino floor Aisha runs into a long lost college friend. They’d gotten fake “married” many years before as part of a protest for same-sex marriage rights, but those rights have been granted. That marriage is no longer fake.
Now, Aisha has 72 hours to end one marriage before she starts the life she always dreamed of. All she has to do is find a judge basking naked in a hot tub on her day off and get to the chapel on time.
My Favorite Wife is the first book in the lesbian romantic comedy series, Going to the Chapel. It’s a sweet romance, which means all scenes stop at the bedroom door, but there are lots of laughs and maybe a few superhero sightings.
Elizabeth Andre writes lesbian romance and cozy paranormal mysteries. She is a lesbian in an interracial same-sex marriage living in the Midwest. She hopes you enjoy her stories. She certainly loves writing them.
I felt somewhat uncomfortable because of how the main characters had certain thoughts about their almost exes!! (maybe that’s a personal preference because I did know the premise of the book getting in)
the book was a fun read and Aisha and Kris really were cute!
2 stars. The plot is very convoluted. I didn’t like any of the characters as I found everyone to be insufferable and the humor landed with a thud for me. The writing itself wasn’t bad but this book was a huge miss for me.
This in s a fun read. Very funny the mix ups lets face this book is perfect for a Vegas wedding. The characters are likable and interesting. What a fun read. Thanks
A hilarious sapphic romance with a number of delightful lines, and a rollicking narrative. Further, the book makes excellent use of its Las Vegas setting.
I really enjoyed this book. I had been a little sceptical when it was described as a comedy but it was so cleverly done and had me smirking to myself quite a bit as you could really see the characters getting into the different situations that they found themselves in. The whole thing drew me in from the start and I did not want to put the book down. I have not read any of this authors work before but will definitely be looking out for more from her.
