Another great mythology entwined book! I've been waiting for Artemis and Apollo's story for what seems like forever! Once I began I was sucked in right away! I feel like so much happened that I wasn't expecting but I loved every moment of it. Such a great read. I can't wait for Ares next!
“There’s nothing you can say that would scare me. You can’t push me over the edge. I’m not going to run away screaming and—and hide from you. " •
Apollo and Artemis are star-crossed and forbidden, but that doesn’t stop how they feel. they physically can’t be apart from each other without getting sick, and it’s getting worse than ever before. when lives are actually on the line, will they walk away or give into what’s been there all along?
this book was filled with more action and backstory than I expected based on its length. it’s like a fever dream while we observe Apollo’s trauma response to his past and the way it has shaped his entire life.
Amelia Wilde always has such an interesting approach to fusing Greek mythology retellings with the modern world, and this one is no exception. •
this and that: ♡ dual pov ♡ found family ♡ fake engagement ♡ forced proximity ♡ greek mythology retelling ♡ open door spice ♡ star-crossed ♡ will-they-won’t-they •

Fans of Amelia Wilde will enjoy revisiting with Hades, Zeus, Poseidon and all their families. Twin Flame features Apollo, who was adopted by Zeus and his wife, Brigid, when he was 11 years old, and their biological daughter, Artemis. From the time Zeua brought Apollo and his older brother, Ares, home, Artemis and Apollo have shared a connection. When they were young, the two discovered they couldn't be apart from one another for long periods of time, and as they matured into adults, the separations manifested as high fevers that would only dissipate once they were back in the same room. The books featuring the next generation have taken on more of a supernatural undertone (Hero Worship was Daisy and Hercules's story) so the reader must suspend logic as the story unfolds. As the owner of a think tank working to resolve world peace issues, Apollo meeting with a sitting senator, seeking a favor, doesn't appear out of the ordinary until he sees the same senator talking to Artemis at their younger sister's birthday gala. Apollo's fever symptoms continue to escalate even in the presence of Artemis which alarms them both. Things hit a fever pitch (see what I did there?) when they're forced to go overseas to assist with the senator's favor. I loved seeing the interactions among Hades, Zeus and Poseidon as well as the interactions with those guys and the kids. Knowing the difficult childhood these 3 (and their sister Demeter) suffered at the hands of their stepfather, Cronus, made the current familiar interactions more special and fun! My only complaint? It was too short!
The Story of Artemis and Apollo is Finally here!!!!
Apollo and his older brother Ares were adopted by Zeus and his wife Brigit parents to biological daughter Artemis, but it a short time after it was discovered that both couldn’t be without the other and as they grew older into adulthood that sickness manifested itself into some series fevers that would require them to be close to one another in some way shape or form, but everything changes when your the boss to a think tank that’s responsible for world peace.
Apollo was subjected, basically cornered by a Senator for a favor and favors aren’t anything new to Apollo his life has been based on nothing, but favors, and he doesn’t think too much into it until……
Until he sees that same Senator speaking to Artemis and that’s when the fever goes haywire and Apollo makes an impulsive decision and choice about he an Artemis and declares them engaged. Not that it was any surprise to anyone but things take a drastic turn for this pair. Apollo is taken and Artemis has no choice but to hunt for him.
Will Artemis get to Apollo in time? Will they both get the happy ever after they’ve wanted for as long as they’ve been together? Read to find out.
I loved that the next generation of kids took a more supernatural form we do get a bit of how Hades and Persephone situation works as well as Daisy and Hercules and I can’t wait to continue this journey about Ares next.
Over the past few years Author Ameila Wilde has given readers some amazing reimagining of some of the Greek Mythological Gods. Today I was glued to reading Twin Flames. Her newest addition to these wonderful reimagined stories.
Twin Flames is about Apollo and Artemis. In this world Artemis is the biological daughter of Zeus and his wife and Apollo and his older brother Ares were adopted into Zeus’s family.
I will admit, I wanted to know more about the myths about both Apollo and Artemis…I read a quick history on their mythical storylines before I read Twin Flames. It didn’t take me long to realize there was more than one story line that ran through this book, but several and when they collided, WHAM this book got even better.
Their personal story just show how much these character love each other and they will always be there for each other.
Memories, snips of life and a sudden visit from a Senator sends both Apollo and Artemis on a journey that felt like the stars and the Gods were about to collide and when they did….well let’s just say mythical Gods can still give readers a bang for their buck.
I was gobsmacked by the twists and turns and the mythology woven in! I could not put this book down and I can’t wait until we get older brother Ares story.
I am so sucked into this modern day mythological world that this author has created! It was such a dark and fun read! The plot had so much suspense and I was captivated by the really unique connection between Artemis and Apollo. Twin Flame is the second book in a second generation series of modern Greek gods.
In this story, Artemis is Zeus’s biological daughter who fals in love with her foster brother Apollo. Apollo moved into Artemis’s home when she was six. All throughout their lives, the two had a very unique connection. They discovered that they will both get physically ill (symptoms include things like very high fevers) if they are physically separated for too long. As adults, Apollo runs a think tank that promotes world peace, but things aren’t what they seem. Apollo has a lot of secrets and he believes they make him unworthy of Artemis.
This author always writes my favorite emotionally damaged antiheroes. Apollo feels like he needs to protect Artemis from himself, but Artemis can take care of herself. She also has some secrets (and a fun Hades connection) that prove she is far from a damsel in distress. Apollo’s job and his inability to stray too far from Artemis lead them both on a dangerous mission. There is so much grit, angst, and longing in this book!
I’m loving this series so much! I can’t wait to see what this author will release next!
It has been a long time since I have read a book that took me a bit to get into it. This one was a bit slow at first but then heated up really quick. I had a hard time understanding what was happening with Artemis and Apollo. I loved getting back to these characters and the offspring of Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. But this one I am sad to say didn't spark a lot for me. I still enjoyed parts of the story but had a hard time getting into it.
It may not be the story and just hit me at a time that was not good for me. I have loved all of the other stories from Amelia Wilde, and they are normally a 5-star read for me, but this one fell a little short but again this is my opinion and others have loved it. I may go back and do a re-read when my brain is not so overwhelmed, and I am able to really understand this one a little more. I hate writing this because I don't want anyone else to take this that it is not a good book. Please read it and make your own decisions and your own opinions with this story.
I love this family. No matter how long it is between books, once I start Amelia’s newest gods and goddesses retellings, I feel like no time has passed. Apollo and Artemis have been stuck together since they first laid eyes on each other and she shot her arrow at him. They are able to heal each other when they are sick. I’m not going to explain what happens, you need to read it. 😁 what happens when their usual remedy stops working? This story took me on a ride, especially some emotional ones. Oh my did I want to reach onto this book and do some not so nice things to some characters and I am hoping for some things. There is suspense, drama, angst, blackmail, secrets, revelations, so much more that I was sometimes going, “what the heck!?” These two have such an interesting and intense relationship that started out at a young age before they even realized what it really was. Don’t pass this story up. I loved it and loved seeing the family. I can’t wait to read Ares book next. I was hooked from the beginning and just kept on reading til the end.
Twin Flame is a fever dream of a book. Artemis and Apollo have been connected since they were children. They suffer fevers and sickness unless they are close to one another, but now things are changing. Apollo is getting sicker and sicker - there may not be anyone who can save him.
This is quite the intense book. The relationship between Artemis and Apollo is fierce and passionate while also being sweet and romantic. I love Hades’ part in the story as well. He’s there to offer guidance and support in addition to love for his niece and nephew. The whole family is present in this story, and no one is at all surprised that Artemis and Apollo are in love, even if their engagement starts out as a hoax. The world building is great. The plot is fast paced and actually a bit different than any other Amelia Wilde book I’ve read. Hold onto your hat - it’s a wild(e) ride!!!
If you’re an Amelia Wilde fan, you know you’re going to love this book! Read and let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss!
Apollo and his brother Ares were saved by Zeus (who looks golden) and Hades (who has black eyes) they have another brother, Poseidon) when they were running away from going to a foster home. Zeus then adopted them. Now Apollo works for world peace. Artemis is Zeus’ daughter and when she sees him she shoots a toy arrow at Apollo, but he catches it in his hand. She is now an event planner. Apollo and Artemis have the same issue, flash fevers. They can’t be apart for more than five or six days because these flash fevers happen more frequent when do. It is some sort of bond between them, thus the twin flame. Troubles are on the horizon for Apollo because of world peace. Apollo and Artemis face it together. Action, scary, steam and love are the height of the emotions in this book. It was an original story, to be sure.
I really enjoyed the first part of the second generation and was excited for Apollo and Artemis' story. We also got to see Zeus and his brothers, and I love this family. Each story is full of love and support no matter the situation. This story started slow but got better. While I liked the strong connection between Artemis and Apollo, it felt a bit lacking. They fit together well, but I wanted more energy. The story is fast-paced, emotional, and mysterious, making me laugh and cry. Fans of mythological stories should read this book.
So excited to back into the world of Amelia Wilde's gods with another second gen adventure, this time with Apollo, adopted by Zeus, and Zeus's biological daughter, Artemis. Like always, Amelia packs quite a bit into this story, with quite a lot of magical elements. Loved the idea that these two twin flames couldn't be apart from each other, or they got ill. So I love that this thrust them together. It took a bit for me to get into, and then a whole lot happened all at once and the ending felt a bit unsatisfying. And if you're super into the source myths, this didn't hit on those in the way you'd anticipate, but fans of the series would already know how Amelia rolls with her mythically inspired dark and intense stories. There are lots of twists, and as always, it was a wild ride. 3.5 stars.
Being adopted into Artemis’s family was a turning point in the life of Apollo and his brother Ares. Although they were only children one arrow has created a bond between he and Artemis that has lasted years and has only grown stronger with time. The only problem is that things seem to be changing and he doesn’t understand why.
Artemis has loved Apollo since she was a child and when he needs her help, she is always there. That has worked well in the past but now there is an outside force that is tearing them apart and now she must find a way to save his life and fight for their future.
Artemis is a force to be reckoned with and isn’t about to stand by and let him face this alone while he wants to protect her from everyone including himself. Theirs is a story of fated love and I look forward his sibling’s story.
I've read Hero Worship and wasn't expecting such a drastic decline in quality when starting this book.
I should say I didn't finish it. I'm halfway through it and Artemis and Apollo are like side characters in their own story. They didn't even spend much time together. Just conversations with other characters and endless monologues about things I don't care.
Whatever happens after that, it won't be enjoyable for me because I already lost interest in the main characters. I won't care what happens to them.
There are italics in almost every sentence. It makes the book hard to read. It was a terrible read in general.
And I witnessed once again how easily pleased romance readers are judging from the other reviews.
Not sure what I was expecting for these two, but this was not it. It simultaneously rushed by too fast and was also slow rolling like crazy. I loved that there is a little more mystical in the kid's stories. And I love the glimpses you get of the whole family. And with these two, I definitely want more! And one of my favorite parts was Apollo claiming Artemis and him were engaged! That whole scene was fabulous! I just wanted to swoon! And now it's over😭 I need more, I want more! I'm greedy, I know. I just love this world that has been created! Hopefully we get more soon!
4.7/ I am obsessed with the characters in this series and the last ( the parents of the characters in this one ) and it's neat having the mythical connection in a modern world. As with the last book, it is very sexy and spicy. Ares ( god of war and courage ) has a problem. He cannot be away from Artemis ( goddess of the hunt and the moon ) for very long. He gets a fever ( lovesick ) and it's getting worse as they grow older. Their unique connection began years ago, and Artemis feels she belongs to this man in every way. So she becomes a huntress, striking him with her arrows to get him to notice her love. When they are in danger, Ares makes the move to make her his. But he is too shocked as Artemis is The Queen Of The Hunt and is not afraid of anything and becomes the one to hold all the power between them. It is very sexy as they come together and I loved the hunting scene with the two of them! I only wish this book were longer, I feel it was too quick of a read for a story that we have been waiting for! But I will be very interested in Posideon and Ashely's sons who seem to have unique powers.
I like it, but I feel incomplete. I liked that there was not too much hassle with Apollo and Artemis getting together. I was intrigued about their connection. I loved getting tidbits of other powers the family members have. I liked that there was a lot of communication between all family members, too. It just felt that there were still unresolved issues. I don't think everything was connecting. I didn't get satisfaction from a bad guy getting what is coming to him. So, I'm hoping that we revisit these things in the next book. Even if it's not about the same characters. I still give it 4 stars because I love this family and how strong their bond is. I always want more.
I am obsessed with this second generation and their magical, tragic and emotional tales. I love this family so much. Each story is full of so much love and support despite any circumstance. This story is unusual, mystical with a twisted darkness. I love the palpable connection between Artemis and Apollo. They complete each other perfectly. This is a fast paced, emotional and mysterious tale and you will find yourself laughing, sighing and wiping a few tears. This was another slam dunk by this talented author. You need to start this amazing series today.
Time is running out for Artemis and Apollo, they previously could spend more time apart, but that seems to be changing. Can they fix this or are they doomed? What will Artemis think if Apollo's secrets come out? I love this whole family (with Zeus, Hades and Poseidon and their family), how they all interact, and I loved the humour, the poetic/creative way it is written and the intriguing love story of Artemis and Apollo (who I also loved). I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.
Oh my Apollo and Artemis! We have been waiting forever it seems for this book and my oh my was it worth the wait! I have loved this world for years! These two are no different! Destined for each other yet a forbidden love, adopted siblings Apollo and Artemis literally cannot be apart! There is no one who could write a story like this besides Amelia. So much angst and love and witty banter plus suspense and steammmmm! Gotta love the hot little scene right at the end… whoa! Get it girl! Can’t wait for more from this world!!
Amelia never disappoints, this story is a quick 200 page read that is so visual it could be a movie.
Apollo and Artemis are connected by forces they don’t quite understand yet the accept them without a question.
With some drama and emotion and the perfect amount of steam this is a story perfect for an afternoon escape. Come back to this world and spend time with some old friends. At the end of the day you will be glad you did.
This is a very different Amelia Wilde story and I have to confess I am a little conflicted. I am not sure I completely understand Apollo yet I found myself with tears in my eyes just before the end. The relationship between Artemis and Apollo is so strong and yet Artemis can seemingly do little to help him as she has before. There is a happy ending though and an intriguing glimpse of Ares story.
Wow! Once again, words fail me for this talented author. This imaginative retelling of Greek mythology left me breathless and amazed. Reality is delicately and skillfully interwoven with fantasy and mythology to create such a wonderful, enticing, suspenseful and touching story that I literally devoured it because I couldn't put it down. Twin Flame is another absolutely magnificent story and a page-turner par excellence.
Apollo and Artemis have had a unique connection since they were young giving Twin Flame an interesting twist. Although I enjoyed Artemis and Apollo's story it took me a bit to get into it, but once I did I read nonstop until the final page. I felt for these two because of everything they had to go through but in the end, it made this book a page turner. I look forward to reading the next Amelia Wilde book.
Not the best book she's written by far. Also, it seems like every other sentence has italics. It becomes irritating and takes away from the story. There's not much of a storyline, either. Just a meh book. I'm not going to pre-order the next one, either. I don't think you should buy this book. Time to find a new author.
I enjoyed Artemis and Apollo's story. A blend of emotions, feels, humor, swoon, twists and heat are offered up at a fast pace on a sharp edge of tension and drama. This book read smoothly and had no trouble keeping my attention. An intriguing, epically moving and delightfully mystical romance that I thought was great.
I have been waiting for Artemis and Apollo's story from seeing them in the other books. They have this bond that no one understands really, but it great to see them working together. Will a secret that Apollo has been keeping since they were kids ruin what they have together? Can't wait until can read more.
This is a low effort, poorly fleshed out short story that somehow runs to a couple hundred pages. It should have been proofread before it was published. It’s like Amelia Wilde storyboarded her concepts and plot points, then threw them in as a jumble without ever bothering to develop them. Disappointing.
Nothing says greek tragedy like Apollo and Artemis. Inseparable since they were young, tied in ways they don't understand but trying to be independent and fierce in their lives. Both are charismatic, talented and attractive. Both have skills that they use to wield power. But secrets may tear apart their relationship before they can have the strong bond needed to survive.
