This is book 3 of the Bar Harbor series and is page-turning with exceptional world-building and characters that are intriguing. Their journey is enthralling as they meander through Bar Harbor, Chase Wright is a successful celebrity publicist in Hollywood. Chase has worked to achieve his dream career but is constantly pressured by his family to settle down and start a family of his own. His life takes an unexpected turn when a lawyer, Penny Harrow, shows up at his doorstep with a two-year-old girl named Bailey, claiming that she is Chase's daughter from a previous relationship with a supermodel who has since passed away... Chase and Penny travel to Bar Harbor to share the news with Chase's family and figure out what to do next. Penny and Chase...or oil and water as the case may be. Will they come together to take on a toddler?

Chase Wright's first love has passed from cancer and left Bailey, a now 2 year old with her friend Penny Harlow. Penny, a high stakes lawyer has little to no time to herself, let alone time to bring up a child. So she brings Bailey to her father- Chase, who has no clue Hazel has passed let alone had*his* child.

After breaking the news to his family, Chase and Bailey head home to Bar Harbor to let them meet their newest member. And Penny heads to Rockport to track down some information. Chase finds out Penny's got someone following her and wants to help her as he has become very close to her. But will she accept his help? And her growing attraction to him?

I have read almost everything Amy Rafferty has written and this has to be some of her best work yet. But keep the tissues handy because you might need them. Highly Recommended 5/5

Chase has what he thinks is a full life with a demanding career. When his ex love’s best friend drops in and drops several bombs, his life is turned upside down. How will he adjust? What changes will he have to make?

Oh, and true to Amy’s style, there’s a whole other story going on in this novel. The mob, intrigue, divorce and romance round out the book. I can’t say too much or I’ll give away all the surprises. Also, Cara, Chase’s cousin who’s whole life is surrounded in mystery, is a part of this one, so hold onto your seat and make sure you have time to read from cover to cover in one sitting because you aren’t going to want to set this one down.

Penny Harrow finds her brother a problem after he started dating Nancy Channing as he had been such a caring big hearted brother before. She was further irritated with Grant over the divorce case of Suzy and Maison. Chase Wright is a celebrity publicising his life changes when Penny shows up saying that he had a two year old daughter Bailey from a previous relationship with a super model who had passed away. This is a start of a great relationship as they help each other with the problems and dangers they have to face. A heart-warming read. I am on the ARC team and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.

Phenomenal!

Amy Rafferty has absolutely nailed it again - I'd give it a ten-star rating if I could! I love the interaction and building relationship between Penny, Chase and sweet little Bailey. The mystery and intrigue of Amy's books always draws me totally into the plot. I can't put one of her books down as I'm addicted to reading it cover to cover in one sitting. I'm always disappointed when the book ends as I want more, more, more of the story. The next book in the series can't be released fast enough and I'm waiting on tenterhooks to keep reading this series.

Romance and criminals

Chase finally finds lasting love. Attempted robbery is foiled. Blackmail is threatened but doesn't happen. An old secret about paternity is revealed to the characters, but not to the readers (annoying). Another red rose is delivered [creepy). Cara's remodeled house/fortress sounds fascinating and would be perfect for Batman. I would love to have some of its features in my Maine victorian house! Proofreading is still inadequate: ALL RIGHT is still misspelled, and punctuation is still less than perfect. This story was all over the place. Im glad there's a break before the next book comes out.

Amy has done it again with this series and written I book I could not put down‼️. Chase’s life is about to change in ways he never expected! Penny shows up at his door, and drops the surprise of a lifetime on him! Before he can ask any questions, she runs out the door. Chase is left with a load of questions. Where is the love of his life who left him? Why is this baby brought to him? How is he supposed to deal with this with Penny since they have never liked each other? Maybe things will change as they work together to provide the best for Bailey. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

Secrets and lies
Penny was Hazel's best friend and is devastated at her death due to recurring cancer. Following her wishes, she has cared for her 2 year old daughter until she is able to hand her over to Chase. He was Hazel's fiance and the death of Hazel and the birth of Bailey is a total shock..and he and Penny dislike each other.
Things are happening around them, beyond their control and danger is close but over what, who is involved and why is yet to be explained. Despite the mayhem around them all, a budding romance is beginning to open up.

This is Book 3 in the series. We find out more about Chase’s life & discover secrets he did not know. Bailey, his daughter, steals the show. The animosity that used to exist between Penny & Chase has gone. There’s a lot of intrigue & suspense, but we are left with loads of questions. The story is cut short. I wish more was disclosed here.

While I enjoyed the characters of Chase, Penny and little Bailey, there were parts of the timeline in the story that confused me. I felt like they would be talking about something that happened a few weeks after the and of the previous chapter then they would bring it back to the next day.
There is a lot going on in this book. A ton of backstory of Penny's life and other characters introduced here.
Chase and Penny disliked each other while Chase was engaged to Penny's bff Hazel. But Hazel's death and little Bailey bring them together.
I can't wait to see what Clair is really up to, her career.

His former fiance Hazel never told him she was pregnant; and had recently died of cancer. Chase and Penny work together to make Bailey's adjustment work. Can they really work together? Love the plot, great setting and strong intense interesting characters.

Just finished The Bachelor in Bar Harbor. This was a fantastic book. I cried a few times in this book. The last page really brought tears to my eyes. My heart went out to Chase so many times. Bailey is adorable. I was so glad when Penny finally did the right thing with Bailey. Another tearful moment. I am still trying to solve one secret in the book. Hopefully, it will come to light it another book. Amy, you have another winner on your hands. You never, ever disappoint me.

This entire series has an endless storyline. I started the first book only realize there was no answer or ending, which led me to read the second, third and so on. There are far too many characters to keep straight with no real descriptions of them. I listened to all seven books and still there is no true ending. Narration was slow and lacking emotion, had to listen at 1.5 x speed to get through the monotony. Would not suggest.

Another truly emotional read by Amy Rafferty. One can always look forward to intrigue, excitement and emotionally charged stories. In this episode Chase meets a whole new challenge and his solution will bring Lots of questions and decisions. Can he adjust to being a father and work with Penny in order to bring a joyful and love filled life to Bailey? The book is very breath taking.

Penny & Hazel were best friends. Hazel & Chase had a history together. Penny & Chase did not like each other at all. 2 years later Hazel has passed away & Penny has a surprise for Chase. That’s when Bailey is introduced to Chase. Penny & Chase are in for an adventure in more ways than they knew.

Penny had to take Bailey to her father, which was her mother Hazel’s request. Chase was shocked to meet his daughter, especially with Penny bringing her. They had never gotten along while Chase and Hazel dated. This book will run the gamut of emotions in the reader. There is laughter and tears along with a lot of mystery and secrets. Another great book by Amy Rafferty.

Chase and Hazel's story is so heart-wrenching. I just love Bailey and I really enjoyed learning about Penny and Chase's lives. The drama that happens had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Book 3, The Bachelor in Bar Harbor, is full of drama from page one until the end! Penny has news for Chase, along with a surprise. So many different scenes going on with each character in the story!
So easy to get caught up in the story! The scenes and characters are well developed. I would recommend this book and series to all! Can’t wait for Book 4!

Chase a Publicist has a great life and definitely isn’t looking for complications. A surprise in the form of a two year old, shows up at his door Is she really his and now he has to deal with his feelings about Penny, the lawyer. Heart warming, possibly a romance type of book. Another fantastic read from the imagination of Amy Rafferty. The plot was so tightly woven that sometimes I felt as though I was going around in circles with these characters. Cara is a hoot, but Chase Penny and Bailey’s coming together as a family was very nicely written in the stars. Five glorious ones.

Great storylines in this one. Chase learns about a secret Hazel had, bringing Penny, her best friend, back into his life. Penny also has a lot going on, with a divorce case and more that develops in the story.

I hope we see more information in the future with some of the things I felt were felt ‘unfinished’.

If you enjoyed book 1 and 2, you will love book 3 even more.

I am continuing to enjoy this Secrets in Maine series. This third book was not disappointing. I like how each book has its own mystery but the secret rose continues to be woven into each book. I am looking forward book four. Again enjoyable characters as well in this book.

I liked this book a lot, but I feel like we got left hanging on the cliff!! What happened with the Long's divorce, the hit on Penny, the mysteriousness of her father's request, and everything else there. Like what happened?? Did the FBI get the phone and the flash drive? What was so important about that box? Who was it that was adopted? I'm so lost and confused now.

I love visiting Bar Harbor. This time we get romance, mystery, a sweet two year old, an interesting cousin, and the death of the one that ties them all together. Amy Rafferty will keep you reading long after you intended to put your book down. Hazel understood Chase and Penny better than they did themselves. Treat yourself to this book and series.
