Detective Micah Hart wasn’t sure when his fairly safe, predictable life became something more closely resembling a dumpster fire.

But if he had to pinpoint an exact moment, he would say it was the first time he went undercover as a prostitute in an attempt to bait the notorious serial killer who was stalking New York City’s streets – the media-dubbed Hooker Hunter.

It’s when Damon Romano plows into his life, with his fierce protective energy, and those thick thighs, and the bluest pair of eyes Micah has ever seen.

If only he wasn’t also a temperamental mafioso in charge of running one of the city’s largest criminal empires.

Damon fixates on Micah, obsessing over feeding him and making sure he always has a coat. He spoils him rotten with gifts and insists on taking Micah on as his personal escort – a “boyfriend” to get his nagging sisters off his back.

It’s weirdly sweet, and Micah doesn’t know how he’s become a soft spot in the ruthless man’s otherwise hardened exterior, but it would be a lie to say he didn’t want even a real relationship with Damon.

There was just one teensy, tiny problem with that.

Despite what Damon thinks, Micah isn’t actually a prostitute. He’s a cop for the NYPD.

Pretty Policeman is an MM billionaire/mafia romance, sprinkled liberally with rom-com elements, served with a side helping of sugar daddy kink and mistaken identity trope.

The premise of this one was right up my alley, but something was missing in the execution for it to truly be great.

It’s about an undercover cop who pretends to be a prostitute in order to catch a serial killer, but instead he is found by a ridiculously rich man who wants to take care of him. At first, neither man knows the other’s true profession: one of them being a cop, while the other is a mafia don. And thus, they quickly fall for each other while having a ‘Pretty Woman’ type of situation going on. But what will happen when one of them finds out the truth about the other? Will everything fall apart?

The whole mistaken identity trope as well as the rich man wanting to take care of and spoil the poor man dynamic were things that enticed me, and I also genuinely thought Micah and Damon had great chemistry together. Still, I never really felt the depth of their relationship and I wish we could have gotten more scenes of them actually interacting with each other. I was also really missing Damon’s POV as I am certain the book would have been so much better if we had been able to properly see the devotion, adoration and protectiveness Damon had for Micah from up close.

Unfortunately, I also have to admit that this story dragged a little at times. It did not need to be as long as it was, and there was often focus on certain scenes that simply weren’t important.
However, the side-plot was quite interesting, even when it dragged, and I can’t say I ever felt particularly bored. My simple solution was just to skim a bit whenever the author decided to go on an uninteresting tangent, so all was still good.

I enjoyed reading this for sure, but I didn’t really feel very connected to it.

How could I resist such a premise!! I couldn’t. Luckily, I did not come to regret this total lack of self control.

On the whole, this was entertaining read. With some editing and refocusing, it would have been an easy 4 star for me.

• I enjoyed the aggressive caretaking by Damon in the beginning, and the silliness of their initial encounters and miscommunication/situation.

• Micah was an amusing character to ride along with in the story, and I liked Tessa as a partner.

• Far too many descriptions of things that don’t matter. I don’t need every single detail of every scene, could have shaved off a solid 150 pages and read a lot smoother. Having to skim large parts to get to the scenes actually advancing the story was a bit of a bummer.

• Please, please, delete all the parentheses. If it’s relevant, it doesn’t need to be in parentheses. If it does, then just delete the sentence instead.

• This felt like two books smushed together. We have the serial killer plot - which gets very present in the later parts of the book - and then the undercover Pretty Woman/crime boss romance arc of it. They intersect, but not enough to feel like one book. Pretty much after they meet due to this setup, the two plots diverge the rest of the time.

• When the book is focused on the crime part, it felt like Damon wasn’t really part of the story at all anymore, which felt like it left big gaps in the romantic arc. I’m not really sure I felt like I ever knew much about Damon on the whole, actually. It would have been nice to spend time with him being mafia man or something. This goes back to the ‘two books in one’ problem I think.

• The end of the book is…sure is something. That’s a long scene . And then the very last part, where we’re in Geoffreys POV?? wack. don’t do that. No jumping to secondary character POV!

• Plus bonus extra weird - the whole book we don’t see Damon being mafia man. He may as well be just an unscrupulous businessman (standard variety) and not a mob boss. But in the final pages of the book, we’re treated to a rendition of a series of violent things he does while sad about Micah…bad time my dude. Do this earlier, make it relevant, before they reunite. This felt like a “oops he hasn’t been mafia man ever in this book…time for violence?”

Overall, not a bad read. It was too long in not interesting ways, which made me skim at times. I think this also tried to do too much for one book, and both sides suffered for it. Still, a decent read, I’d probably check out another book by this author (pls make it more concise tho)

I enjoyed this and really wanted to round up, despite nitpicking my way through. I really liked Micah. He had good instincts as a cop, but could also be really dumb AF and thought with his dick. Didn’t feel like I knew Damon quite as much, but loved how protective he was. A great start, dragged a bit in the middle, but picked up towards the end. However, after 450 pages, I expected more from that ending. Suspension of disbelief and patience required!

What I liked:

The premise (mistaken identity, undercover cop x mafia don)
Pretty Woman vibes
Great chemistry
The serial killer case
Third act conflict
Knew it was coming, but loved the climax

What I didn’t like:

Editing errors/overuse of parentheses
Inconsistencies
Too long - Needs trimming
Missed Damon’s POV
No condom
Pointless kink
The unsatisfying ending
Side character POV highlighting just a few of Damon’s flaws 😬

This was essentially ‘Textual Confusion’ all over again but minus the cute pics and obscene amount of filthy steam and plus a murder investigation and more of a slow burn.

Don’t read them back to back, because the parallels are too startlingly obvious and honestly a bit much (going as far as giving the MCs of the two books the same outfits, apartments, weekly allowance, presents and even lines).
But if you’re craving some possessive sugar daddy, mafia, mistaken identity vibes and an alpha/naive ‘touch him and die’ dynamic, pick this one up, it’s still FUN ❤️‍🔥

Damon steps into Micah’s life as Prince Charming on a white horse. He saves him from the streets and gives him food and shelter. Only…. Micah doesn’t need any of it, because, he isn’t a prostitute, he’s an undercover cop, trying to catch a serial killer.

Imagine this, meeting a breathtakingly handsome, super rich (penthouse in Manhattan, not one but plural) guy, protective af, who’s also a mafia boss, and you are a poor detective, incognito as a prostitute to catch a serial killer. What are the odds? But it’s Micah’s reality. The man is obsessed with Micah and protective to no end.

Damon is obsessed with Micah, he takes him with him, there are private jet trips, to beautiful Italy, and houses with all the luxury you can think of. Still, let’s not forget, there’s a serious threat, and there’s still the fact Damon doesn’t know Micah is a cop.
Imagine what would happen when he’d find out. Micah wants to protect his heart, but it’s a lost cause.

I’m not gonna spoil it, just read it yourself. It’s all super SUPER entertaining! Keep in mind there are ruthless and vicious people and there is still a serial killer to catch.

I absorb these 454 pages, I could easily do another 400, there was not one dull moment.
And oh my freaking goodness, I love some protective billionaire who throws money, who has a soft spot, and who does everything to make Micah happy and content. I hugely enjoyed it all, even where I saw things coming, there were some other events I didn’t expect I was completely surprised by. I was totally glued to the story!

Micah has on one side connections with the mafia, and on the other side the police force. Both sides bring a lot of intriguing and exciting moments. Some are even hurtful and vicious, but also watch the humorful ones!
The main characters are nicely developed. This is a debut novel, I’m flabbergasted, how is this possible, the author did an amazing job!
One drawback with this mesmerizingly written story, it took some of my night rest. I couldn’t stop reading. I had to stop because it was a long read. I really really didn’t want to stop!
The first thing I did when I woke up picked it up and start reading. I was sad when finished, some books should never stop, so I did read several parts again.
Overall a super duper entertaining rollercoaster ride, I didn’t want it to end!

"Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell."

It seemed fitting to start my review with the same Joan Crawford quote the author did. It definitely set you up for the tone of the book and also made me laugh which is a great way to begin a read. I really loved the majority of the book. The premise was fun. I mean a mafia don falling in love with an undercover cop while thinking he's some poor prostitute? Sign me up! The protectiveness Damon showed with Micah hit all my buttons. Micah was a snarky little fucker and I enjoyed being inside his head, but really would have loved to have gotten Damon's POV. He wasn't a man of many words so getting inside his head would have added to the story in my opinion.

The plotline had a few things going on at once. You had the case Micah was working on as a police detective and then you had Micah's budding relationship with Damon, all the while Damon has no idea the man works for the police. There was plenty of UST to go around, but only one detailed tumble between the sheets. I would have liked a bit more steam in my mafia romance if I'm being honest. Also I had two niggles when it came to the steam as well. One, the author compared a BJ to breastfeeding which right away made the scene go from HOT to EW. Not sexy at all. The second was that the MCs had sex without a condom, no discussion, which I thought was strange since Damon was under the impression Micah was a sex worker.

Though I would have liked an epilogue where we got the see the MCs happy together after the events that led to the ending, what the author did instead was really cool. We didn't get a glimpse into Damon's head, but we did get a glimpse of what the man was like when he wasn't around Micah and let me tell you that man is terrifying. Like Micah, I had a hard time seeing Damon as this evil mafia man with how gentle and caring he was with him. After that peek, I would not say no to a book 2 on this couple if we get to be inside Damon's head. All in all, Pretty Policeman was a pretty solid debut for a new author.

Note: I read this as an uncorrected ARC so I cannot comment on editing. This was my unbiased review.

This is the first story I’ve read by this author but I will check out more. I really enjoyed this story. I’m assuming this is this author’s first book. It is a great start. The meeting between Micah and Damon was the start of me laughing at the antics that seems to be a part of Micah. He is a detective and his current assignment is undercover as a prostitute when he is “saved” by Damon. From there it just gets more entertaining. Damon seems fixed on saving Micah from himself. He keeps finding Micah in situations that seem dangerous. Micah as a detective seems pretty bad at his career choice. He seems to be constantly saying or doing something to get himself in trouble. Not letting Damon know he is police plays a big part in how this relationship gets off to a shaky start. I found these two characters both irresistible. Micah just asks for someone to keep him out of trouble. Damon really needs someone who is willing to challenge him at every turn. Side stepping Micah’s dad the police captain plus toss in a bff for Micah who also tries her best to look out for him and this story is fascinating. I look forward to more by this author.

A Joyfully Jay review.

2.5 stars

I’m going to be honest and say that I had quite a few problems with this book. First, there were generous handful of malapropisms — pleaded skirt instead of pleated, subconscious instead of self-conscious, wondering hands instead of wandering hands, shutter instead of shudder, close instead of closed — as well as some small punctuation issues scattered through the book. Then there are consistency issues, such as some chapters having a “previously on” moment where the events of the previous chapter are summarized at the beginning of the next one, or the last line of one chapter being the opening line for the very next chapter … but not all of them. In the later sections of the book, the author starts using parenthesis for asides, which they hadn’t done previously. Then, there are story moments that just don’t quite make sense

I wanted to love this book. All the tropes just spoke out to me, but it was not that greatly executed. It dragged at times, and I don't really get why it had to be 454 pages. The one thing that saved me from reading this is 3-4 days was skimming. I still enjoyed this, but the ending was iffy.

I was really intrigued by the blurb, the story and plot both had a lot of potential, but there were some things that made me feel conflicted about this book.

First I just have to say that I really liked the characters, Damon was so adamant when it came to taking care of Micah and he was just overall very protective and possessive. Micah was mostly stubborn and cute, but he also had a snarky side and I enjoyed the banter between him and the other characters.

The pacing was a bit off at times where there would be long passages without anything happening, and a lot of time spent describing things that weren’t essential to the story. Mostly the story was a bit all over the place and it felt like the author wanted a bit too much to happen within one book.

Some things got very repetitive, like Micah’s battle with when and how he should tell Damon the truth. It just felt very dragged out and annoying towards the end, I was just frustrated and basically wanted it to be done already.

There was also a few things that didn’t add up for me, like some parts about the police work and procedures felt a bit questionable. Another thing that made me react was Damon not using protection or even discussing it when he was still under the impression that Micah was a sex worker…

The rom-com feeling was there as promised though and I ended up enjoyed parts of the story. Damon and Micah was definitely a couple that was easy to get invested in.

So this read like a cliche but who I am to say cliches are bad.Undercover cop pretending to be a prostitute meets mafia don and they start fake dating before feelings are involved...everything implodes and hearts are broken ...well sign me right up.

Micah and Damon are one those characters that somehow slip by when you're relaxed and suddenly you're obsessed with them . Micah was amazing...he was funny and cute and had this naive view of the world that makes you want to hug him despite the fact that he's a cop🤷 but Damon was all round amazing. Baddas mafia kingpin falling in love and wanting to protect his boyfriend?....it doesn't get any better...

This one and half star less was that some parts of this book were just waay to long for no reason 🤦🏾‍♀️...like I had to skip some parts but for a debut novel this one was just right.

Started out cute, funny, hot, and sweet. But Mycah acted like a chick with a dick and had too many TSTL moments. He thought like a woman. He did not act like LE either. He got drunk in public. He did not check his surroundings and was easily startled. He received money from and was seen in public with Damon, a man with an organized crime background. And Damon didn't have Mycah followed and checked out. That was dumb.

And then things deteriorated. The plot imploded. The murder investigation took a different direction. The relationship development lost intensity and stalled out. The pacing slowed down. Mycah turned into a bratty teenage girl. There was no sex @ 60% and sexual tension had evaporated. DNF.

I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. I usually need Dual POV, but in this book, keeping Damon more of a mystery works really well. Michah and his thoughts and the trouble he gets himself into are actually really humorous, but the story does have a serious Serial killer case going on as well. Arrest you for being arresting! One of the best drunken lines ever. I was insanely found of Michah. He was a genuine character I could totally relate with. I loved Damon's stalker and overprotective tendencies. The story is the perfect blend of serious crime case, humorous characters, mysterious love interest and just all around interesting and fun.

Let me start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this book (enough that I stayed up WAY too late reading). The characters were interesting and I couldn't wait to see the ball of lies explode like a grenade when the truth came out. Total popcorn munching drama. 🤣

However...

There are plot holes big enough to drive a truck through in this book, not to mention a MC who is a double college major and police academy graduate, an NYC Detective, and only TWENTY-THREE is completely ridiculous. I don’t care if his dad is a police Captain. He's not making detective in NYC that young. And speaking of which, no way would Micah be put in his DAD'S precinct. I understand this is fiction, but my suspension of disbelief was pushed to the max.

The writing is fairly solid and clips right along, but a lot of internal dialogue was put in parenthesis, which isn't really how it should be handled. Some could have been italicized, but most should have just been left alone or removed entirely. A good editor would help with this and the couple dozen grammar issues/typos. A few experienced beta readers would have caught the plot holes, too.

All in all, this book was fun. It's a good debut novel, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

An enormous five-star plus from me.
Once I started reading I couldn't stop, who doesn't enjoy Mafia / Billionaire, mistaken identity, pretend relationships, and so much more...
The writing style just carried me into the lives of Detective Micha Hart and Damon Romano.

Such an intriguing story with absolutely solid characters every one of them has substance.
A terrific mystery, I was kept on my toes throughout!
Everything about this book is 100%, the writing, the characters, especially Micha and Damon, a delicious rom-com, this book has it all.
I can't praise this book enough...

It's rare that I have this much fun reading a book!

A cop goes undercover as a prostitute and gets 'rescued' by a mafia don. Shenanigans ensue.

This reads like an MM version of Pretty Woman but with a mafia crime romcom twist.

Was it predictable? Yes.

Was it chock-full of cheesy romance tropes? Also yes.

Was it super entertaining to read? Absolutely yes.

Obviously, it's not a literary masterpiece, but this is, like, THE kind of book that I'm hoping to read when I pick up a MM romance novel. It has all the fun tropes, and that's what it makes it so fun! It has:

- disguised MC/mistaken identity (as a hooker, which is even better than regular mistaken identity)
- a super smitten, super protective and possessive "I will burn down the world for you" LI
- Pretty Woman shenanigans
-...and also pretty lingerie (although not as much as you'd expect)
- a decent and integrated mystery plot

The pacing was a bit slow in the middle, but I didn't mind at all, as I didn't want the book to end. I feel like there are some more things that would've been fun too see but were only mentioned (such as the kink list). I really wanted to be a fly on the wall for the "interrogation" and the conversations that happened after that.
I am super happy to see that there is a sequel novella, and apparently more are planned if the author's afterword is to be believed!

The author has delivered a solid debut with Pretty Policeman.
I liked the story on the whole.
The idea was creative: a mafia don falls in love with an undercover cop. Only he has no idea of his real profession, rather Demon thinks Micah is a prostitute.
The story is told from Micah's point of view, which in itself was great. However, I would have liked it if we had a few chapters told from Damon's point of view as well.
Damon is a man of few words anyway, but he has an incredible protective instinct when it comes to Micah. Then he's no longer threatening, but very caring. And Micah is busy investigating his case.
The two grow closer, but despite the length of the book, the hot scenes remain rather manageable.
The only problem I actually had with it was the sex without condoms and that with Micah's supposed profession.
All in all, I enjoyed the story and can easily imagine a second volume with Damon and Micah.

When I read the synopsis of this book, I could not wait to get stuck into it, as it is just the kind of book I LOVE LOVE to read...... 😍😍😍😍😍

Based on the high star rating this book got, I think it is a case of it's me and not the book.
Fifer Rose is a new author to me and I did like her writing style.

I unfortunately do not like it when the misunderstanding continues in a story and the main characters do not come clean about it. It just prolongs unnecessary drama for the sake of drama 🙄.

I felt Micah should of been honest and open with Damon early on in their relationship. Their entire relationship right from the beginning is based on a lie. I don't like that in my romance books.

Micah was a nice character, I liked how he spoke his mind. He was funny and cute and had this naïve view of the world despite him being a cop.

I really enjoyed how Damon took care of Micah. I liked his dominating manner right from the beginning and the way he always wanted to look after Micah. It was cute.

The scene at the police station was very touching, I felt Micah should/could have been a bit kinder to Damon seeing as how upset Damon was thinking it was Micah.

This book had too much of a Pretty Woman theme going on between Damon and Micah. Micah wearing a skirt was just plain ridiculous 🤯🤯🤯.

As I am a HUGE mafia fan, I was let down by this book, there was no mafia stuff AT ALL. This was basically a billionaire/cop story not a mafia/cop story.

Overall this is a nice book, had a few disappointing moments for me as a reader.

Will I read more from this author, for sure.

This author is new to me but from the blurb of the book I agreed to read the Arc, wasn’t sure what to expect but I really liked it, like every chance I got to pick it up to read it I was there!!

It’s a book about a NYPD young detective who goes undercover pretending to be a prostitute to try and uncover the Hooker Hunter who had been murdering men in the sex industry and Micah is all for taking one for the team with the help of his friend and co worker!
Waiting on the street to see if he could lure the HH out he ended up in a situation with a potential customer that wasn’t pretty, only to be saved by a well built man in a suit who just wanted to feed him up!!

Damon was well known in his Field of work! No one messed with him, especially some random who was hurting a young man that had caught his eye, he just wanted to help Micah, give him a meal and a coat!! But it ended up him wanting more, he couldn’t seem to get him out of his mind, so he come up with a solution, an agreement, only now he had to convince Micah to agree to it!

This book had a great story, I love the way it panned out, I make it sound sweet but it’s not! It’s hard to explain without giving to much away!! It was a slow burn and not a lot of spice, but the spice there was, was great! There was a great push and pull between the MC’s and I didn’t see the little twist of event, I knew something big was gonna go down but it wasn’t how I expected it to happened, it kept me on the edge of my seat! Micah was also really funny! I lol so many times, I even highlighted some bits because it’s like he was my person with the stuff he come out with!!
I’d defiantly read any other MM books from this author.

This was hurt/comfort, age gap, mafia/cop, bit of a feeder kink, medium angst, possessive, with lol humour book!

The book is out December 1st

Overall: a funny, easy and nice read about an undercover cop who gets picked up by a billionaire mafia boss. I have never read anything from this author and I can’t find out if she has written anything before, but this is really well written book, despite a couple of points I disliked. Even so, I clearly enjoyed this book and think it’s a good read. I’m hovering between 3 and 4 stars. 3 stars because it was well written and funny, but no surprises and there’s room for improvements in both the writing and the story. But I’m going for 4 stars, because it was really funny and I hope more people will enjoy this book.

Like:
- We delve straight into the story and meet both main characters very soon.
- Funny and witty main character, I had to laugh out loud a lot because Micah just keeps digging himself in deeper and deeper.
- Easy to read, even though there’s not a lot of action/suspense, you do want to keep on reading. At the end, the story suddenly picks up a lot of speed and there’s a lot of tension before everything gets better.
- Even though there’s instant lust, it takes a while before the main characters really get together.
- We read the story through Micah’s perspective only, so no changing POV.

Dislike:
- The amount of internal dialogue of Micah. It’s funny, but after a while it gets a bit tiresome and it actually takes away from the story. This also happens because some thoughts are written between brackets, so you are kind of thrown out of the story while you have to read those thoughts.
- How quickly Micah is sold if there is money and expensive stuff involved. Sure, those things can be nice, but I felt there could have been more romance instead of a lot of expensive presents.
- There are a couple of points where the author keeps repeating who someone is. In the beginning, this is fine, but at the end of the story, you really should know about a before mentioned person and the constant reminders are unnecessary.
- When the main characters have sex for the first time, there is no mention about safe sex. Not a condom crinkle or a previous discussion having talked about this. I can understand you don’t want to slow the story down, but honestly, how much slowing down can one mention be? And really, this is an important point. Especially when there is a main character who is thought to be a sex worker.
- At the end of the story, like literally the last couple of sentences, we suddenly switch perspective to a minor side character. Why? It doesn’t add anything to the story, I really threw me off and it felt like a real abrupt ending because of this. There’s also no epilogue, and while one certainly isn’t a must, I do love them because you can really drive the HEA home and give the reader a sense of a happy, finished for now, story. Right now, I felt kind of robbed of the HEA because of the abrupt ending.

Personal dislike: characters who continue to lie and don’t come clean about themselves until they have no other choice. This is giving me anxiety throughout the book, because I keep waiting for the fallout. However, this is not a point against this book, as the blurb already reveals this is a story about a mistaken identity so you kind of expect this to be the case in this book ;)

A lot happened in this book. That is the first thought I had when sitting down to do my review. A LOT happened in this book between our two main characters: Damon and Micah. There were multiple plots all going at once, but Fifer Rose did a pretty good job at tying them all up and tying them together. So while typically I focus primarily on the characters, for this book, its the plots that drive the narrative.

The first plot, and the overarcing plot, is the cop and the mafia don. Micah is a police detective with the NYPD. He's one of the lowest ranked detectives, usually stuck doing B&Es and low impact cases that bore him to tears. He meets Damon one night when he's undercover as a prostitute, working on one of the most interesting cases he's seen so far: catching a serial killer that targets prostitutes. He's literally called the Hooker Hunter. But instead of enticing the Hooker Hunter, he catches Damon's interest.

This plot ends up taking a back burner for most of the book, though it simmers underneath and is mentioned on occasion. It ties into another case that Micah works, but the police stuff? Not really one of the main plots.

The main plot is the MM Pretty Woman romance going on between Damon and Micah. Damon, thinking Micah is a prostitute, hires him to fake date. Micah doesn't correct the fact that he's not actually a prostitute, even before knowing the truth about Damon's job, because he's attracted to Damon. This plot actually drives most of the book.

The two do eventually come to a head, and its interesting when it does.

The characters in this book were compelling enough, though sometimes Micah did get on my nerves and I wish we would've had a bit more from Damon's POV. This book is largely told in one POV. We get a slice of a second POV near the very end, but its neither of our MCs, so that was a bit jarring. I didn't mind it, but it was still a bit jarring. Some of the stuff he'd mentioned I would've rather seen in the text, not just relayed back to us via a third party.

There were a few grammar errors, a few times when the wrong words were used, and a few bits that didn't make a lot of sense. However, they weren't too frequent and they never jarred me from the book itself. A combination of that and a few smaller plot points that I didn't enjoy as much (and a very convoluted timeline because I swear Tessa's 8th month of pregnancy lasts the entire book - which is longer than a month) made it where I couldn't give an otherwise amazing book five stars.

All in all, this book was really good. There was only one really spicy scene in it, so if you're looking for high heat, probably look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a compelling slow burn with some darker aspects or a nice long story, then this is great for you. Fifer hit it out of the park on her debut novel, and I will be reading the sequel.

LOVED ITTT I NEED THE SEQUEL NOWWWW!!! 5 STARSSS
I loved the length of the book (I don't know wats up w/ the negative reviews regarding the length etc.) But if anyone sees this pls check this book out it has criminal mystery it has a sugar daddy & it has a mafia boss its just a combination of a lot of amazing things. I do agree micah was kinda stupid but considering he is young and a new cop its not that unbelievable or surprising i just think ppl always want the mc to make better choices than them at every turn. The book was really good and micah was a very well written character and Damon was one of the sweetest and hottest man i have read about in months. He is a bisexual perfection and i love him.

I would love for the next book to focus more on the mafia aspect of damon's life as the teaser for the next book has glimpses of and i need more criminal investigations from micah. I would also love to read abt the sexual aspect of their relationship bcuz they have great chemistry and the buildup was exquisite. But i wished we actually had them f*ck more b4 the book finished.
I loved the side characters too jensen is annoying but interesting and ashton had ny attention despite being there for 3 mins lol would love to see them vying for micah's attention in the sequel(s) hopefully.
Thank you for writing this beauty author!!!

I usually stay away from stories with mafia characters as I’m not a fan of main characters who willingly engage in unsavory illegal dealings. Something about how Damon was introduced in the blurb snagged my attention though, and I decided to give this story a chance. I’m so glad I did, because this was such a good read!

I loved Damon’s protective caretaker personality, and how he considered Micah’s needs first. Behind his rough mafioso exterior he’s more like a teddy bear when it comes to Micah. As for Micah, he can take care of himself…though he doesn’t let Damon know that. They do make a great couple though, I really liked the two of them together, even when I was frustrated that Micah wasn’t telling Damon who he really was.

Along with the mistaken identity and enemies-to-lovers themes, there was the mystery of the serial killer to solve, so there’s drama to go along with the romance. More drama entered the picture from certain family members as well. All of it was plenty to keep my attention from page one through the end, and made this an engaging story.

Pretty Policeman was a strong 4-star read for me, and was a great M/M romance debut from this author. I wound up being okay with the more distasteful aspects of Damon’s life, mostly because of that soft side he exhibited with Micah. I think both hardcore mafia romance fans as well as those like me who are not really fans of the genre will both find a lot to like about this story. I do recommend this for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Pretty Policeman was a great read. Sweet with humor! A billionaire/mafia with some mistaken identity and a sugar daddy makes a great story. Micah is an undercover policeman that is working as a prostitute when Damon sees him and helps. Damon is mafia, a kingpin who runs the city. Little does he know Micah is actually a cop. I seriously loved this story and will be looking for more by this author. Loved, loved, loved Damon and Micah! Overall, a fantastic story, a solid debut! Well written with great pacing. Highly recommend.

This book sets the scene ready for book 2

There was something about the way this book was written that kept you hooked. I think it was the anticipation that Damon and Micha would finally devour each other at their next meet up; this unfortunately didn't happen until quite late on in the story. The chemistry was high throughout. The majority of the story is the ongoing serial killer case. When Damon did finally devour Micah it felt like release. Micah is a fun character with lots of snark and this gives the story some lightness. We only hear Micah's POV, I would have loved to hear from Damon. I think his POV would have added the steam. Damon is an intense character but you really feel his devotion to Micah. I am anticipating the sequel to have all the juicy bits I wished this had.
