Best one of the series yet!

Everything's coming to a head. There are sweet reunions, some not so sweet, and love blooming. There are worrisome moments and a few that definitely need a trigger warning (SA). Oh, and OMG Loki! He was the star of the show.

I wasn't a fan of how Victor had to 'treat' Theo. I realize it was part of the story and how it all came about, but I'd hoped their reunion would be sweeter than that. It's just a 'me' thing, so ignore it lol.

I'm already itching for the next one to see how it all plays out.

***Received an eARC of this novel from GRR in exchange for an honest review***

I love this series so much, the books are so extraordinary. Oathbreaker was equally well written with amazing action sequences.

Cassius like always is in the news but for the first time, he is in the news for good reasons. He appreciates his new fame however wishes to have a low profile but Morgan the overbearing overprotective lover does something that ends up making them take a forced vacation leading them to London. Here the actual adventure beginnings.

Plenty of new characters are introduced in this book. This is an incredible book, amazing storytelling power with mind-blowing scene. I am amazed at the imagination of the author and her writing skills. The action scenes are so well choreographed and portrayed in the book that you wish to see them in real life.

The problem with the book:

I went through a hell of a lot of emotions while reading this book.

I didn't like that Cassius never appreciated or appreciated enough of Morgan's love and care. There were moments when I felt Cassius doesn't deserve Morgan. He lacked conviction when it comes to showing his love towards Morgan. He rarely showed emotions or love towards Morgan. At times it was getting very irritating with the way everyone treated Morgan. Everyone in this book just insulted Morgan at every possible opportunity. That man deserves love and respect.

For the first time, I loved reading about Victor and his love interest. That was an interesting plot line. Victor and Morgan's bonding was fun to read.

Eagerly waiting for Harbinger, the next book in the series.

Oathbreaker is the latest installment in the Fallen Messengers series and these books need to be read in order.

Right now, the newest entry to the series is somewhat a turning point for the overarching arc. After the revelations in the previous story where Cassius deeds has been made public as well as the other events that occurred, he has found himself at the receiving end of attention and adoration from the public. During their vacation in London, Morgan and Cassius stumbled upon more sinister threats and trouble. They've also been slowly remembering about their past lives more while one of the main villains lurking in the shadows has been revealed. Even though their team had been thwarting Elios' plans up until now, he had grown bolder and more ruthless in trying to achieve his goal - awaken Chaos and free him from the abyss.

I really enjoyed this novel. It was able to wonderfully thread the previous story plot and details while creating some interesting points that could be expounded on in the future. The pacing has been good as well. The world-building has been interesting with the additional lore about the past war as well as other details regarding the demigods and all the other figures that fought back then. Those delicious bits made me want to actually see an expanded story about it.

Cassius and Morgan were a delight here and I loved their banter and interaction a lot. But the ones that stole the show for me were Theo and Victor. Finally my man Victor getting his time in the spotlight. Theo and Victor were both compelling characters. I loved how Victor's continuing arc was deeply tied to that of Theo as well as the other main characters. Theo's introduction was a pleasant surprise and I loved the backstory that the author gave him and how likeable the character has been overall. The character development of Victor as well as of Theo was nicely done and I do hope that they continue to receive the same attention in the near future.

Overall this book has been a fun, action-filled ride with wonderful twists and turns. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

This would be 4.25 stars out of 5 stars for me.

I received an ARC of this book from GRR and I have chosen to publish my fair and honest review.

I am so glad i found this series. But, for a second there, I thought every plot thread was getting the end of story wrap up. Like, the baby hasn't arrived yet. Now London is under attack.

Stupid Darkness is still trying to release Chaos. Now there us a new awoken demigod. But this one is spicy.

That one scene, had me sweating! Over hear yelling, "Will someone save the young man!"

What a glorious ride! Turned into an all-nighter. Time well spent.

Oathbreaker is the fourth book in Ava Marie Salinger's Fallen Messengers series. I had the opportunity to read the book prior to publication. I want to thank the author/publisher for the opportunity to review this book. However, the following review is completely mine and not influenced by their generosity.

So, we're back with angel turned demigod Cassius Black and Morgan King angel turned nymph demigod (I know it, gets a bit confusing if you're jumping right into the 4th book). Let's face it, Cassius and Morgan take on new titles with each passing book. This book starts with both Cassius and Morgan's memories from before the fall starting to fill in a little bit. There's still a lot of missing pieces, and the book helps put a few new pieces into place. After Morgan basically blackmailed the supernatural leadership from around the world to be honest about who Cassius is and what he's done to save humanity, Cassius is not exactly comfortable with his newfound positive fame.

Cassius and Morgan take a trip to London to visit Victor (also one of many titles). When they get there, they find a poor kid who is just finding out that he's sharing a soul with a different demigod (I want say more because ... spoilers). Let's just say, we get an interesting look at what it would be like to be mortal and living with a demigod inside you.

Oh, and the second worst of the big evil baddies (the worst being the locked away Chaos) may be closer than anyone ever imagined.

Most of this book is spent reckoning with the awakening of a new demigod on earth while also finding out more about what's been going on, on the other side of the ether.

So, I really enjoyed this novel. I thought the novel was well paced and did a good job of linking previously established lines while creating some new ones. I really think the overall pacing of Salinger's series is good.

My only complaint is that there are a few points where the forward action of the novel stops for a sex scene, which just takes me out of the narrative unfortunately. I know not everyone agrees with me here, but I really prefer sex scenes that help propel the plot and don't feel like time-outs from the plot itself. There is one sex scene that I thought was a little over-the-top. I won't give it away, but it's akin to a sexual bloodletting. To me, this sequence just seemed a bit contrived and out of a bad porn plot from the 90s.

With that said, I really enjoyed this book. I know I have a couple of complaints about some of the narrative pacing, but those are minor compared to the overall quality of the book itself. Anyone who has read the three previous books is going to enjoy this novel as well. I would not recommend jumping into the fourth book in the series. There is a lot of backstory that will be missed if you jump right in with Oathbreaker, so I would highly recommend going back and checking out the first book in the series Fractured Souls and working your way through the first three before diving into this book.

Not victor suddenly forgetting about cassius as soon as he saw theo?? I was looking forward to victor cassius and morgan together with cassius realising he loves them both but now its suddenly victor in luv with theo bcuz of some divine connection out of nowhere??
Finished the book and im disappointed with victor not ending up with cassius? I would have loved to see both morgan and him dating cassius all that buildup for victor and cassius only for it have such a disappointing ending? Makes it worse that he is suddenly soulmates with cassius' brother (biological!!) its just so disappointing. The boring cliché of siblings ending up with siblings after being in love with the other sibling for decades & longer.

*This is a series to be read in order*
This brilliant urban fantasy series continues with Oathbreaker, following on from revelations of who Victor was before The Fall and now Elios has another plan to bring about the rising of Chaos from the Abyss.
Cassius, Morgan and their group are back fighting on the streets of San Fransisco but with a slight difference of everyone now knowing that Cassius has actually been saving everyone for the past five hundred years, not trying to take them down like they all assumed. However, they are drawn to London and where events, mostly, take place for this book. It's action packed with drama, family tensions and revelations that have us and the characters learning more about themselves from before the fall. One young man especially has a big part to play in this installment of the saga as they fight to fix fractures and fight of demons from hell. Just another day for Cassius and Morgan along with their growing group of family, friends and allies.
I can't wait to see how things progress now with the characters that have come into the story here and how they will affect the fight that Elios will no doubt be bringing again in the next book. There's a great balance between all aspects of this story, even ending on a note that will leave readers with a smile. However, please be sure to read the trigger warnings as there are a couple of scenes of dubious/non consent.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

4.5 Stars!

I highly recommend starting at the beginning of this series if you haven't yet. I think diving in at this point would be hard, as the story builds from each previous book. That said, I'll try not to spoil anything here for those who are reading the series and want to see how it plays out on their own.

I had a hard time setting this one down once I started reading it. The war and small battles continue in this book with more revelations about the enemy and what he has at his disposal. I liked that Cassius and Morgan are more settled into their relationship and that Morgan is getting better about Cassius's past with Victor. I loved the surprises that came for Victor and can't wait to see how that all plays out in the next book. I liked that we learned more about Cassius's past and that he is finding his place among everyone after being the pariah for so long. Loki was awesome in this book! I liked the new characters that we meet in this one, who will be major players as well, moving into (what I hope will be) the final battle. Nildar, Archon, and Theo made me cry and laugh, and I can't wait to see more of them again. I loved the snark that the Archon displays at the end of the book, and I can't wait for what he comes up with when he's not on a rampage.

I am so looking forward to the next book.

This book was amazing. I just love all the characters. Cassius and Morgan are the perfect couple. I was so happy to see Morgan suggest going to see Victor. It shows growth in him, as he is such a possessive guy.
Elios is such an incredible villain. There isn't anything he wouldn't do to achieve his goal. The only thing I'm still puzzled about when it comes to him, is his hatred for Cassius. Why did he hate him so much when they were in heaven? Was it because of Cassius's title or because everyone liked him?
This volume we final learn how the fall happened and it is heartbreaking. We are introduced to new characters that shed more light into the angel and demons past as well as the war. This was an action book. It felt at times that our poor guys couldn't catch a break, but when they did it was worth it.
I totally loved this book and definitely recommend it. Of course you have to read the other volumes before this one, otherwise you will be lost.

Alright, hands down probably the best one of the series so far!!

SO much happened in such a short span of time, my head feels like it’s whirling trying to catch up.

This series is nothing less than addictive. The world this author has created is honestly breathtaking, and I cannot comprehend the time and care it has to take to pull together all the details necessary to do so.

With this story, I loved that we got lots of new characters. I feel like what I previously knew before I read this book was just a drop in the bucket compared to what was unveiled here and I am beyond ready for the next book.

I am also so happy that Victor is getting his soul mate. I was worried about the direction he was going to be taken in and I’m really happy with how it turned out!

As always, the narration here is just nothing short of sultry and perfect for all the steamy scenes (and this book had what felt like SEVERAL back to back!) so good!

OMG! We finally learn more about what immediately preceded the Fall, as well as meeting pivotal players from across the realms including the Nether, who didn’t fall including the remaining Guardians and Elios AND we get new POVs within the story too! So many new characters, so many questions answered and new questions asked based on the information Salinger has provided. Lots of action and steam though less than previous books! More soulmates finding each other after 500 years! Another excellent installment in this series. This has truly been one of the most enjoyable urban fantasy series ever. This series just gets better! Bring on book 5! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Oh my goodness, this book kept me glued to the digital pages. I was worried, excited, cheering and gasping! The first part got pretty dark, darker than the previous books. It was action packed and introduced the most sinnamon roll of all characters, and two very intriguing ones, one of them I wanted to slap badly!!
I need the next book right this second!!

Change of scenery, new revelations, and some more new faces in this one. Morgan continues to be a possessive moron incapable of considering the consequences of his actions... not that one expected anything else. Glad to see Victor stop pining after Cassius (who clearly has atrocious taste in men and doesn't deserve him) and get a new love interest - he's probably my favourite character in this series after Loki.

Ava has done it again 🔥🔥4.5🌟
OathBreaker the fourth book in one of my favorite Series is beautifully written.
Cassie,Morgan and their team are back again and it just keeps getting better. With the discoveries made at the end of Edge Lines I patiently waited to see what was next for our favorite Fallen Angels and I was not disappointed.
Ava keeps you on the edge of your seat with intriguing discoveries, fights, romance , new love , jealousy (Morgan the culprit) and a very grumpy new guardian. With the gang taking a trip to London ,our favourite demon finally gets his own love story which we all agree finally 🤷.Theo is one character that burrows deep in our hearts very fast. You just want to hug him 🤗
OathBreaker gives us a window to the past for our fallens and ensures the next chapter is going to so very interesting 🤔🧐... Harbinger we're waiting 💃.

Received an ARC from GRR and this is my honest review.

I had mixed feelings about this one. I am a huge fan of this series and have been waiting for this volume. I loved the new characters and the way the story progressed. But some scenes (most importantly the sex scenes) were so weird I felt they were just added as a filler. Most importantly the scene between Victor and Theo. Their entire coupling felt so rushed to me. If Rohengar had been in love with Coraos for whatever centuries and he is the first person he seeks after his reincarnation, I think the author could have made their reuinion and further relationship progress in a aesthetic manner instead of a porno flick.

I honestly felt it degraded the integrity of their relationship when it is based entirely on sex and Victor's alleged possessiveness. Even with Elios, to show that he was THE evil character, the only medium she thought to use was sex? With his black poisonous semen and black penis (it felt more funny than evil, tbh).

I think the story actually started in the second half. The first was, meh. So I really want to see how it progresses in the fifth part. Hopefully sex would be used to show the development between the couples and not the actual storyline.

Oathbreaker is freakin fantastic!! Cassius and Morgan are back! Their memories from before the fall are starting to come back somewhat. There is still missing pieces but pieces are starting to fill in. They take a trip to visit Victor in London. Elios is horrible! He’ll do anything to achieve his goal. There is so much action. Overall, a fantastic read that will hook you and not let you go!!

THIS WAS FABULOUS.

This series has been an absolute delight up until now and every single one of these books has been equally steamy and romantic, action-packed and character-driven, just as I like them, but I feel like this one might end up being my favourite (alongside, of course, the first book: first installments are always my 100% weakness).

"Oathbreaker" was a fun, emotional ride and I devoured every single word.
This fourth novel is a bit of a turning point in this series: Cassius and Morgan have finally started remembering their past lives and the big, bad villain of the story has finally been revealed, and although Cassius' team has been able to wreck Elios' plans up until now, he keeps getting bolder and meaner in his quest to awaken Chaos from the Abyss. But, as always, our favourite, badass angels have a few aces up their sleeve and, as usual, there are new, interesting (and absolutely endearing) characters that are eager to help them win their war.

Cassius and Morgan are always a delight on page: I adore them both to absolute bits, and seeing them so in love, so desperate for the other, always makes me want to weep. I loved them in this one and I loved seeing them act more playful towards one another. Morgan in particular, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIM. He's such a sourly, possessive idiot and I love how one-track (and definitely in the gutter) his mind is when he's around Cassius. I've also got a feeling about these two, but we'll see if I'm right when *cries* I finally have the fifth book in my grabby hands.
What made me love this book to bits wasn't (solely) them though. It was Theo, one of the new characters this book features, and Victor (I AM SHOCKED, BUT GOD, DID I LOVE HIM *swoons*). I loved them as main characters alongside Cassius and Morgan, and I loved them together aswell, so damn much. I hope Ava Marie Salinger will keep them as MCs throughout the rest of the series because their chemistry and their relationship was utter gold, and I think we also deserve to see . I also loved seeing Victor and Morgan get along a bit more: their banter and brother rivalry was priceless, endearing and utterly hilarious.
I loved seeing more of the old team too (and Julia can step on me whenever she likes), even though I still missed their presence quite a bit.

The world-building was, as usual, complex and interesting, a bit mix-and-match, but still so vivid and creative I was very much enthralled. The action was non-stop and breath-stealing and now I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I'm so excited to discover what will happen next with all these characters.

Thank you GRR for the ARC. I received it in exchange for an honest review.

Not sure where I got my wires crossed, but I went into this thinking this was the end of the series - and the way the story progressed I didn't question this incorrect train of thought. But of course, I was wrong and it turns out there are still move novels after this one.

This one wasn't for me. There was a LOT of spice in this book compared to the other ones and that wasn't an issue, but at this point I just want to know how it all ends. I'm realizing that I'm likely just looking for a good fantasy book and recognize that I should be looking elsewhere for it because the point of reading a series like Fallen Messengers is to get some of the fantasy mixed in with....well some of the "fantasy" scenarios. But I'm honestly skimming the sex scenes to just move the story along haha. So again, not for me but I'm sure there are plenty of people that will enjoy this!

The next story gives me the same impression and feelings as the previous in that the world is expanded too quickly, we get a bunch of new characters (some of which we don't spend enough time with), another world is introduced, etc. I do feel we spent a good chunk of time with Theo at least and the action scenes seemed to be getting longer and more flushed out, but overall I'm still left feeling like the series could have been better paced and improved either from a contraction of the world or lean into it truly being fantasy with evenly paced world building. Though this may just be my own issue as I've stated in my review of the 3rd book where I should be looking to a more traditional fantasy novel more so than one that is catered towards romantasy so to each their own!

My next comments include spoilers/warnings so be warned!

***SPOILERS***
My first issue is that this book is depicting orgies and sex scenes that are clearly not of consent. I understand the point is to show how vile Hugo Frost is, but it also makes it hard to read (again likely the point, but feels like there should be a trigger warning for nonconsensual sex).

The second issue that is becoming more tiresome and problematic in my opinion is the increased possessiveness of the various characters in the book. The author tries to explain it away as being bonded as soul mates, etc but it doesn't make it any less problematic to have so many characters exhibit such possessive behavior. It's not even just those romantically involved, but even familial characters have reactions that feel exaggerated just to show "their love" for their brethren.

I'm not sure that I will continue reading, but I just may read a synopsis to know how it all ends..

"Oathbreaker" is book four in the Fallen Messenger series by Ava Marie Salinger. I really liked this one. Things keep getting complicated (and clearer) in Cassius's and Morgan's path to discover their true identity and the reason behind the loss of memory that accompanied the fall roughly five centuries ago.

As in previous books, Cassius and Morgan carry the bulk of the story, but new characters are introduced in order to move the plotline forward. In the current book, most of these are related to Cassius and his pre-fall past as Icarus, the Awakener and Guardian of the Nothern Star - in the same way, the previous book unfolded a lot of stuff concerning Morgan and his dryad heritage. Besides Morgan and Cassius, Victor also harnesses a lot of attention, which mainly revolves around Theo, one of the newcomers who will accelerate the story's final conclusion, very much in sight at the end of this book.

Consequently, the book is packed with lots of action, smoothly woven into the plot. The latter is particularly welcome, as I felt that, in the previous book, this was not handled very well, with someone always rushing in and requiring help to solve a new crisis just when the previous one had been conveniently solved. Considering that so many threads converge in this latest instalment, this is a nice improvement. A couple of things weren't as good, in my opinion. One thing that annoyed me quite a bit was the pervasive use of exclamation marks. It made me feel like people did not talk but shouted most of the time in this book - even when they were whispering. Undying promises of love and loyalty lose quite a bit of their appeal when shouted. Another point that made me raise an eyebrow in perplexity was Victor's quickness in catching Elios's play with the Morai a quarter of the book in - I felt that, up to this point, the narration hadn't provided enough details to allow for the deductive leap. Finally, I'd like to suggest that it would be beneficial to the reader to have a list of characters besides the glossary: there are quite a few already, and it's easy to lose track of your who-is-who in between books (especially when most of the characters have actually two names).

Beyond these few points, I truly enjoyed the book and look forward to the next instalment. I'm actually pretty excited to see what's going to happen next!

I received a free ARC from GRR and this is my honest opinion.

outstanding installment, so complex and entertaining

Rating: 4.5🌈

Due to the complexity of Salinger’s world building and expanding cast of characters, I always need a bit of a review before diving back into this series. But it’s so worthwhile because the author has created a grand tale of war between good and evil beings, one that has been fought before, and now 500 years later is exploding on earth as mortals, Demi gods, mythological beings and creatures from all realms are gathering for one final chapter.

In the last novel, Edge Lines, the Fallen have started to remember their past lives before the First War, when they fell to Earth. The consequences of that recovery of a original self, means the reintegration of memory and powers. And just as much pain and guilt. For Cassius and Morgan , and for Victor.

Because the returning memories and selves brings deep deceptions and painful history to light.

All this while continuing current storylines with the characters, and investigations that carried over looking for the man/being who’s causing the chaos.

A main factor here is Theophile Serrano’s past, and his future part in the ongoing war. It is an amazing journey that really invigorated the story for me in some respects.

Just when I was thinking the story was getting a little dense in bringing in more characters and exposition, Theo’s part began and I was even more delighted with the twists that came next. It was incredibly emotional, full of action, and the ramifications from his section for the next storylines are huge.

These aren’t books you can read as standalones. They must be read in the order they are written and in the series sequence. They contain a huge amount of material that moves the arc and relationships forward in each story.

Fallen Messengers is a highly imaginative, complicated series. Oathbreaker is a wonderful installment, one I couldn’t put down until I was finished.

I’m absolutely recommending it!

Oath Breaker (Fallen Messengers 4)
BY Ava Marie Salinger
Five stars

I think I enjoyed this book most of all of the Fallen Messenger series, so far.

Ava Marie Salinger’s epic stories about angels and demons having fallen from The Nether five hundred years ago are…a lot. Lots of action, even to apocalyptic levels, lots of drama, and lots of romantic friction and interaction. These books are also lots of fun, if kind of absurdist in their extremity. During this book, even in the midst of a fairly terrifying crisis, one of the characters comments to the other that there seems to be an interpersonal soap opera going on.

What makes these books so engaging is Salinger’s excellent writing, and her strong grip on a very complicated assortment of characters and personalities. By this time everybody in the world knows that Cassius Black is not only a hero (rather than a nasty fallen angel), but is in fact a demi-god, bearing the power of heavenly light. So now he’s also a celebrity on earth rather than an outcast. His boyfriend, Morgan King, is also a demi-god, much to his own surprise. This just makes Morgan more jealous of any close interaction with other supernatural beings.

Then, we are told right away in the narrative, the god of Darkness, Elios, is right on earth and is up to no good. Only we, the readers, know this for a while, which keeps us in tinterhooks.

Then Theophile Serrano arrives in London to begin his career, wide-eyed and innocent, and everything begins to spiral out of control quickly. The repercussions of the Fall, the tearing of the Nether, begin to pile up, even as all of the Fallen Messengers—angels and demons and others alike—begin to regain memories of their past, and the horrible events of half a millennium earlier.

You do have to read the other books first if this one is to make any sense. Salinger seems to just be picking up speed, and I can’t imagine what she’s got in store for the next two books in the series.

The demigod's head swiveled around mechanically. He looked blankly at Morgan before gazing at the heavens once more. "Something is coming, Ivmir."

This is book 4 in the Fallen Messengers series and it is NOT a standalone, so if you haven't read the previous books Fractured Souls, Spellbound and Edge Lines, then stop reading and get on to that first! 😁

So moving on, once again Ava Marie Salinger has outdone herself because Oathbreaker is an absolute work of art.

The world-building in this series is on a whole extra level; I seriously have no idea how authors create these amazing worlds, particularly when they're also immersed in a contemporary setting too - so basically it's two sets of worlds - and then some!

So many character arcs are coming together in this installment - and with the introduction of new characters (Theo I'm looking at you❣️) our existing faves have their own story arcs filled-in and extended.

Cassius and Morgan are still hot AF together and Ms Salinger has turned up the temperature considerably on the steam level, so hold on tight - it's quite the ride!😈

Literally can not wait for Harbinger which is scheduled for 30 December 2022!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Cassius and Morgan’s story continues in Ava Marie Salinger’s breathtaking series with this latest book. I don’t know why I keep thinking I will be prepared for what happens in each book because I’m always surprised in the best possible way.

Given the revelations made public in the previous book, Cassius suddenly finds himself receiving attention in ways he never has much to the chagrin of his possessive lover. While taking some time for themselves they stumble upon more troubles and more sinister threats. The enemy behind all of the chaos is setting some deeply troubling things in motion and Cassius and Morgan, along with Victor must find a way to thwart him lest all of London pays the price. On top of all of this, Cassius must contend with the anger and grief of his fellow Guardian brothers whom he has not seen since the Fall.

Once again, I was blown away by the intricacy of all the strands coming together. We continue to learn more about what happened in the immediate moments leading up to the Fall, which allow for some really interesting character development for everyone. The interpersonal relationships in this book were deeply captivating and gratifying as we see Cassius come to terms with people he has not seen in so long and some he never thought he would see again. I also loved Victor’s continuing arc as he deals with his past and tries to forge a way forward with new relationships. I particularly loved how he and Cassius and Morgan find a new balance and combine their powers once again for the sake of the world and everyone they love. And Theo is the perfect new addition to this motley crew of angels and demons and demigods.

Without giving too much away, there was so much in this book about repairing and reinforcing bonds—among friends, family, team members, lovers and even sassy imps. Amidst all the action, the adrenaline rushes and the immense stakes, I love how much heart this series has, how dedicated the characters are to doing what is right and how unafraid they are to show their love for each other. This was truly another amazing adventure and I cannot wait for the next installment. 5 huge stars!

CWs: Two scenes of sexual violence in Chapters 7 and 13 (and spilling over slightly into 14). While the two main protagonists are not involved, an important side character is somewhat involved. Please feel free to reach out if you need more details.

It appears my hypothesis was correct in that from the looks of things at the end of book 3, a certain demon demigod would be playing an important role in the next book. That book being Oathbreaker. It's no surprise I am a big fan of Victor Sloane. He loved and cared for Cassius when the entire world was against him. I don't care what he did before the fall, the man has more than made up for it in the past 500 years. I will never complain about getting more page time with him, especially now it seems he's found his own soulmate in Theo. There is more to the story there, but it is relevant to the fast moving plot so I'll leave it at that.

The majority of the book is focused on Cassius and Morgan, which I do appreciate as too many other major side relationships can get confusing. Also book 1 started out that way and I liked how books 3 and 4 were consistent with this as well. It helps to keep the elaborate world building together in my mind as a reader. How Salinger created such an interesting world full of numerous rich characters is a testament to their talent as a writer. These books continue to wow me and have me on the edge of my seat until the last swipe of the page on my kindle.

The heat was moderately high in this one. We meet a plethora of new and intriguing characters as well. I am already dying to have my hands on Harbinger and it doesn't come out until the end of December. What I do know is, it will be worth the wait!

This a continuous story and the previous 3 books must be read, good thing is that they are all very good and worth reading!!
The author continues to blow my mind with each new book. The revelations, the recovered memories, and new discoveries had me seating at edge of seat in suspense, never knowing what was going to happen next. Because just when you think you know which way the story is heading...bam...a twist is thrown in and you're left reeling. The world building continues to be great with the introduction of new characters and dimensions, keeping it from becoming repetitive and stale. All those loose strands, dropped hints in previous books, are coming together and continuing to create a fascinating story that has me so hooked and invested.
Cassius and Morgan relationship continues to have its ups and downs but it only made them stronger and fall more in love with each other, if possible. And the heat level continues to just as hot 🔥🥵🔥 And I loved that we got more of Victor and he discovers his soul mate (was so sad for him cause he was sad and alone since Cassius was never meant to be his). Victor and his love just add to the steam level 🔥🥵🔥. The introduction of Theo made me cry (can't give spoilers). He soothed so much pain and allowed so much needed healing to many characters.
This book was full of intriguing characters, action, suspense, twist and turns, healing, strengthing bonds between friends and loved ones, and steam. I can't wait for the next book and discover more hidden secrets!!

Belated Happy Cover Reveal Day to Oathbreaker (Fallen Messengers #4)! :D

Oathbreaker is now available to pre-order on Amazon and will launch live in Kindle Unlimited on 22 July 2022.

Pre-order Oathbreaker (Fallen Messengers #4) on Amazon

For those of you disappointed that the release date was pushed back by a month, I do apologize for not posting something here sooner :-( I sent out a newsletter and posted in my FB fan group when I took the decision to do this a few months ago. To put it simply, I was burning out. I write under two pen names and I have two part time jobs, so releasing 6 books a year for the third year running was proving detrimental to my health. I have cut down my releases to 4 a year from 2022 onwards. Although a fifth book did sneak at the end of this year *sighs and shakes fist at her muse*...

ARCs are now available exclusively through Gay Romance Reviews. You can sign-up for the book tour or the ARC or both at the link below :-)

In the fourth book of Fallen Messengers series, we find our heroes, Morgan King and Cassius Black, getting too much attention after it was revealed that Cassius was not evil and after Morgan did something reckless. Forced to take a sabbatical, they take off for London to visit Victor Sloan and soon find themselves in the middle of a maelstrom. They meet a Theophile Serrano, who came to London to take a job as PA to Sion CEO Hugo Frost, who is not what he seems. Since Theo’s arrival, he has been experiencing weird things. All this comes to together when past comes to the present. Cassius comes face-to-face with the two guardians left behind. Memories and enemies return. London is in trouble and all their talents will be necessary to save it.

Several new players are revealed in this one. You can see how everything is starting to line up. Memories and betrayals as well as past manipulations come to life, casting doubt on truths. The dark god Elios makes his presence known in more violent and vicious ways. Our group of heroes are forced to fight in an effort to save not only London but other realms as well. It is intriguing as well to see the past memories returning bring a few twists and turns to the story. This series keeps getting better and better. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one.

4.25 Stars

If you haven't yet, you need to start this series with book one. This is a series with a lot of main and secondary characters, a complex plotline, and intricate worldbuilding that has been working up to this point, so do yourself a favor and start from the beginning.

There are several POVs in this book, although the main focus is on Cassius and Morgan, who are more settled in their relationship. And they share the protagonism with Victor and Theo this time around. There was a lot happening in this installment, I loved seeing Nildar, Archon, Theo, and Cassius work together! And Loki was awesome as always.

While I enjoyed the book for the most part, I did feel certain sex scenes were there more for shock value than for anything else and didn't really contribute to the story. Other than that, the writing flowed well, I really like Ms. Salinger's style, the book was fun, fast-paced, and interesting and I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us in Harbinger. Recommendable!

Still 4 stars.

In this book we meet Elios the big evil behind all the MCs problems and all the terrible things that are happening. And he is also the one that triggered The Fall 500 years before bcs he poisoned Victor's(Coraus?) mind with the idea that he could have Cassius(Icarus) if he killed his lover and Victor's half brother Morgan(Ivmir). When Cassius saw Ivmir hurt and then his own older brother Roengar dying by the hands of Elios, Cassius opened the rift and started The Fall without knowing, only with the awakening of his full powers.

In this book Elios rapes three women and makes another one do a non-con Bj on Theo (Roengar's reincarnation) while he rapes her too, and later he tries to rape Theo, but it's stopped by Victor. Roengar in his past life was in love with Victor, but he knew was unrequited and never confessed. Now half of his soul is in Theo(a virgin) and Theo falls in love with Victor, and this time they feel the same.

We also meet the other guardians of the Nether, other than Cassius and his older bro (by blood). These two others they call brothers but I don't think are related. (I forgot their names...)

Just when you think nothing more challenging and hellacious could befall poor Cassius and Morgan, they're forced to take a break from the ‘day job’ and end up half way across the world and in a heap of trouble when they visit London to track down an unusually uncommunicative Victor and they get a whole lot more than they bargained for.

Oathbreaker is the fourth book in the Fallen Messengers series and absolutely has to be read in order. Cassius is still the reluctant hero and Morgan is still as possessive and protective of him as ever. This time, however, we get to learn even more about Cassius and Morgan's past lives, as well as more about The Fall, when angels, demigods and the otherworldly beings found themselves on Earth. It's a continuation of the terrific world-building and character development from previous books in the series. There are a few surprises from characters we already know and introductions with a bang to some we don't...it's pacy and action-packed whilst there are still times when the bonds between characters are deepened.

It's no secret how much I love this series and Oathbreaker, for me, again delivers truly impressive urban fantasy. 5*
