A second-chance, high-school-sweethearts-reunited, romantic drama with a touch of mystery and thriller.
Natalie Podger was only sixteen when her life-long best friend and boyfriend, Bennet Malene, vanished from their small town without a trace. Sixteen years have since passed and, thanks to pure stubbornness and a lot of self-preservation, she's pretty sure she has put the past where it should far behind her.
Then, out of nowhere, Bennet sweeps back into her life, wanting a second chance and digging up all those memories she so carefully buried. While forced to face the heartbreak that shaped her life, Natalie must also learn the secret that Bennet carries with him − the very secret that explains the mystery of his famous disappearance, and the secret that could devastate their tight-knit town.
Generally, people think of me as an artist. "This is Jen, she's an artist." My mother says I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and I'm always prone to creating things, whether they ever leave my head or not is another story.
When high school hit, I suddenly began to get stories in my head. And I went NUTS for them. I spent the next ten years bent over my keyboard, getting these story ideas down before I forgot them, working and reworking them until I was practically cross-eyed, and inevitably becoming obsessed with the characters involved.
Another ten years later, and I've been editing, illustrating, and growing these stories long enough. It was time to get them out into the published world, even if I had to go the self-publishing route (I've always wanted more control over the sitch anyway). So here I am, trying to do just that.
Oh, and I live in Las Vegas where I've professionally dabbled in graphic design and marketing, and am currently attempting a freelancing career in art and design. I have no pets, but the boyfriend and I have a "hypothetical dog" named Reggie who we hope to make a real dog one day.
