The decorative dustjacket adds much to this vintage hardcover. (Don' t buy this one without the jacket) The dustjacket does show some wear along the edges from shelving. Book is clean and bright inside, VG+.

Loosely historically correct Second Lady Lynne Cheney captures Washington DC 1979 with accuracy and intensity. Fictional leaders take us just one event in the many the Executive Branch faces daily. It was a simpler time: no cell phones , laptops , 24 hour news cycles. Rotary phones , paperwork and field maps dominated the research with which investigative reporters and Press used . Citizens grabbed the morning newspaper and weekly magazines broke news. It was scandalous if leaders saw psychiatrists or asked for help. Those were the days....Cheney’s background and education are outstanding and this novel was applauded by many .
