Master hunting guide Hal Blood reveals the tactics he uses to consistently guide clients to trophy-sized whitetail deer. An extremely useful book that all whitetail deer hunters can appreciate, whether they hunt in the vast, deep woods of Maine or the cornfields of Illinois. Includes descriptions of deer and deer behavior, how to choose the right hunting gear, how to read deer sign, how to call deer, how to hunt from a stand, how to still hunt, and details on tracking deer in any conditions.
Great book for the North Woods hunter. Although I don't hunt in areas exactly like Hal Blood and his guides there is a lot of strategies and knowledge that can be taken from this book and applied to any hunting area. Lots of good examples and stories to follow along with, the writing style is very easy to follow. This will likely be a reread every year at some point. Also a great companion book to the Benoits books/DVD's. Buy this book and learn from one of the best hunters around.
