Our world is built upon mysteries, so when somebody tells you nothing is impossible, you best believe them. Unexplainable Happenings is a thoughtfully-curated anthology series of occurrences most would deem impossible. Bone-chilling beholdings, unwilled encounters, and the unthinkable all come together to create an unusual and genuine series.
This book leaves a lot to be desired. It wasn't as scary as the first two books. I still think about a couple of them. This one I could've just skipped.
Wow! What a terrifying edition of this series. There are a number of intense, heartbreaking and terrifying stories in this edition. I couldn't put this one down! It lives up to the title of unexplainable happenings and hits you with the first story and keeps going! Many strange and unusual things in this world.
The events in this book include a painting bought in New Orleans that turns out to be evil, a boy in a hotel that goes to sleep in one room and awakes in a different room after 3 days, a guy from the present that ends up at the scene of a 1920 bombing on Wall Street, a gruesome murder, a lost time event, a mirror with reflection of a person that's not there, a trailer park that might be haunted, a transplanted heart that is connected to bad dreams, a sinking lighthouse and other stories.
What is significant about this type of event is that it falls outside the cryptid/space alien genre and covers events that are just as strange but are not as numerous as the others. Quite fascinating.
I chose this rating because most of the stories in this volume seemed fictitious or made up compared to the ones on previous volumes 1 and 2 which were scarier and believable. This volume is way less chilling to my opinion. However I liked a couple of reports that sounded realistic such as the New Orleans one and the girl with the heart transplant. Thanks!
Another book full of personal accounts of unexplained events. Our world is full of things that we just can't quite figure out. I was especially affected by the family camping after a wedding.
These stories are getting addicting. I keep reading volume after volume. If you enjoy Lovecraft, you will enjoy these, but these are actually said to be true, which makes them even stranger!
For it's length, the author's did a fine job of story telling! I was impressed not by the story itself, but how well it was edited. Not a period out of place, not a word misspelled. Excellent read all the way around. Highly recommended!
