There is a name on the list that the Prime Minister knows very well - too well. There is someone on that plane who will soon be dead - if the hijackers can find out who he is! And there isn't much time. One man lies dead on the runway. In a few minutes the hijackers will use their guns again. And the Prime Minister knows who they are going to kill.

És una història senzilla però no tant com les anteriors que havia llegit. Les descripcions són una mica més extenses. La trama m'ha encantat i l'he entès, i les paraules que no he entès no m'han fet perdre. Contenta d'haver-ho pogut llegir!
This book is about a large plane is hijacked. There were one hundred and eight passengers on the plane. When the plane is hijacked, the passengers were very afraid of what might happen to them because one of the passenger was already killed by the hijacker. Carl and Harald who are the other passengers in the plane they tried to help and he tried to stop the hijackers. When I read this book I was very nervous because the passengers were in danger but finally some of the passengers got out of danger so I was relieved of that.
-Oxford university press -Time: 11/27 = 85min -7 words summary: plane, hijack, prime minister, poor, time, freedom -Discussion questions: 1. Have you ever heard someone's experience of hijack? Yes, I have. Because I had have airline seminar in spring semester. The teacher's friend was pilot, and he experienced like that. Then he was one of the passenger, so he realized what happening. He replaced the cockpit, and he rescued all of passenger. 2. Do you want to be a cabin crew? To tell the truth, I have a dream to be a cabin crew in past years. However I changed my mind in these days. Certainly, I think it is a wonderful job, but every time they must keep calm, and keep smiling, so it would be stressful ...
This book is interesting, but it is difficult to understand the process until the end. However, we can feel how great person prime minister is. He is really strong, and I wish our prime minister could be like the man, too:0
Keeping in mind that it's a 3rd stage book. wasn't bad at all.
The story is about a plane getting hijacked in a small country, and when the Prime Minister is summoned to deal with the case she finds out a special someone is on the passengers list. only 80 pages, but kinda thrilling.
And even though I only read it in order to review it to a friend, I ended up learning couple of new words. Ironic ha?
Carl and Herald are on their way home they go on the plane he asks the flight attendant for a cup of coffee, she looks a bit nervous. Then she walks away and says have a nice flight. Then 2 men enter and the flight attendant in the cockpit. Moments later, the pilot shouts that plans have changed and that they are landing somewhere else. Then the flight attendant comes out with a submachine gun. They discover that the plane has been hijacked. Then a bell rings. The two men said they are the people of 'the army of liberation' we will not hurt you we only want our brothers (they are terrorists and in prison) back as said are free you are free. Then the president arrives at the airport and learns that the plane her husband is in has been hijacked. The hijackers on the plane don't know that the President's husband is on the plane, so the Herald eats Carl's passport to keep it that way. The president is told she has 2 hours to get the 2 "brothers" out of jail. But that's too little time. They say if you don't keep the deal, we'll shoot someone who's on the plane. They have now shot someone who was on the plane they also found out that the minister's husband is on the plane and they say he is the next one they are going to shoot if their 'brothers' are not there in half an hour. The president decides to get the prisoner out of jail and they have to be here in half an hour, but they can't because a prisoner had an accident in the car, so they call the plane they need 10 more minutes.
My opinion: The book was really my thing. It was extreamely exciting. Would recommend!
Some weeks ago I read the book Skyjack from the author Tim Vicary. The book really hasn’t that much pages and is really easy and fast to read. The story reminded me about I movie I have seen and enjoyed but it’s another story.
The book is about Carl and his friend Harald who’s a police officer. All the passenger were having a good flight until the pilot started speaking, he said some plans changed and they just had to land on another airport before they would arrive at their final destination. And some minutes later the air hostess comes back from the cabin, but now she has a machine gun in her hands… At the airport some important people arrive to talk about how they are going to save all the passengers. But that isn’t something simple. After some time the skyjackers ask to get their brothers out of prison. They had been put in prison because they tried to put some bombs on a plane. The Prime Minister decides to set them free but of course that happened with a plan behind it. Ob the end the plane finally landed safely but with some killed people…
I would really recommend this book to my classmates because the book has a really good story, it is easy to read and also with some action.
The book is about two people who are on their way home from a work meeting. They take a plan to go home. It was just a normal flight. But in the middle of the flight a person with a machine gun comes out of the cockpit and also 2 other guys were behind her with a machine gun. Those 3 people wanted to talk to the prime minister about their brothers. They wanted to free them out of prison. They needed to stay in prison for 30 years. And they wanted to help them and free them.
For me the book was pretty easy to read and understand. The words that were used weren't difficult. I have read the book in 4 hours. I don't really like this book. I prefer a book with another genre like science fiction. The book wasn't bad but i just don't like this genre. It was a typical book. You know what would happen and when it would happen. It was very predictable and it bored me. I think the book isn't worth reading. There are a lot of books that are more fun to read and aren't this predicatble. I can't even tell you one thing i liked about the book. It's just boring and typical. There are like 100 of this kind of books. It looked like i already read the book before. I wouldn't reccomend it to you.
The husband of the Prime Minister of America and his bodyguard Harald are coming back from a business trip by plane. Both gentlemen like the hostess because she is very friendly and helpful. Suddenly the hostess and 2 other men disappear in the cockpit of the plane. The pilot announces they have to make a stopover. A few minutes later, the hostess and the two men from the cockpit come out with a machine gun. The plane is being hijacked because the hijackers want their brothers to be released from prison. The Prime Minister has two hours to release the brothers or a passenger will be killed. Unfortunately, a passenger is shot dead.
When the Prime Minister hears that the next victim is her husband, she makes sure that the brothers are released. The first prisoner will board in exchange for 100 passengers. The second prisoner goes on board with an FBI agent who is disguised. Eventually the FBI agent can kill the hijackers.
Because the vocabulary in the book is not too difficult, the book reads very easily. However, a number of scenes are long drawn out, which reduces the tension. The story can be realistic but for this you need sufficient imagination.
I certainly recommend to read this book. This book reads fluently thanks to its simple vocabulary. The story slowly builds up and it has a surprising ending. The end of the book is not predictable, so you keep reading attentively all the time.
This book tells a story about the crew members of a plane being hijacked. About how the passengers and their families felt. In the first chapter the tension is very low because the story is just starting. When they hear that the plane is being hijacked, the tension is increased. Then you begin to understand the role of each character in the story, you also know who the main characters are in the meantime. When the moment comes that the hijackers have chosen someone to kill when their brothers don't show up, you feel a little more pace and excitement in the book. I don't like to read, so I've been reading a Dutch book for a long time. So I needed some time to read an English book and I needed some courage. The book did not appeal to me as a style either, I prefer to read slightly more romantic books, if I already read. The book did not appeal to me as a style either, I prefer to read slightly more romantic books, if I already read. Another reason I might not like the book is because it was in English, and I can't read English very well. I think that also played a role in my opinion about this book.

The story begins when Carl and Harald steps on the plane, after their business trip. When Carl woke up, he sees a stewardess talking with two suspicious men. The two men walk into the cab where the pilot sit. A few minutes later, the pilot announced trough the speaker that the plane must land at an another airport. The plane has been hijacked by the People’s Liberation Army. When the plane has landed in an another country, the hijackers are convincing the prime minister to release their brothers. If they realize that Carl is the man of the prime minister, then they use it as bait for their brothers to be sure to get them back. But then the colonel comes up with a plan, the prime minister agrees and the plan is implemented and runs smoothly.
I think it is a very good book. it is easy to read and it also interests me very much. Only in the beginning is it al little confusing to understand it, but in the middle of the book it goes more smoothly because then you better understand who is who.
I would like to recommend it to others because it is a very good book for readers who like thriller and adventure. It is also very easy to read for readers who can not speak English very wel. And it is also very pleasant to read if you want to learn a few new words. So I definitely recommend it for others to read this book, if you are interested.
2: 5/16 The Tomorrow Mirror 25min. 5/21 SKY JACK! 65min.
3: nervously, gun, police, air hostess, hijackers, groan, prisoner
4: a: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. Please stay in your seats and keep clam. Thank you." B: I like this passage because I sometimes go abroad on the plane, I often hear about it. It's the regulation phrasal. We can hear it, if we go on broad.
5: I have ever gone on planes many times. I'll feel bad, scary, willing to die, and something if the same situation happen.its the very dangerous so I don't want to face the similar things. Of cause everyone who almost all over the world people don't want to die from the accident.
4a. One day, the plane is hijacked. Then, the Prime Minister looked the list of passengers and he became to think it strange because there were names which the Prime Minister knew well on the list.
4b. I enjoyed reading this book. I read a stage 3 book for the first time in this year, this book was not difficult for me. It also had new words, so I learned them. But, I did not finish to the last, I want to finish after the class.
5. The author wanted to write a serious story. The content was serious. But, the author wrote not difficult words to read easily for readers. The books should be interesting for readers. I thought that it was great that even serious contents become to be readable happily.
I was gifted a set of these small Oxford books from an anonymous source. I am a native English speaker, American, and have no idea who gave me the books or why. However, I love to read and it was time to visit the first of the set and so chose this modern hostage story by Tim Vicary. There are no surprises here. Skyjack! is the story of what happens when a large plane is hijacked. Sitting on the tarmac, where the Prime Minister of the UK is negotiating with the hijackers. The emotion of this one comes from the fact that one of the passengers is her husband. Tense with fast pacing, this story felt real, and believable.
I loved it , it was an exciting story , story is about one strong and clever woman that agains 3 hijacker and she want to all the passengers set them free , unfortunately her husband and his friend was one of the prisonere and hijacker underestood it.
A rather short story written for learners of English. I remember having a big cardboard box containing my learner's book collections, but this book in particular I remember the best. The first book I read that gave me the excitement of a thriller movie.
