Okay -- I haven't had the chance to try out anything but the self-face massage yet, but the instructions and pictures are clear and easy to follow, and the techniques look really, really good-feeling. It even tells you about pressure points, massage while pregnant and in labor, and massaging kids and babies. Another book I'd like to own someday.
Fun gift to give to your partner on their “special day” (along with massage oils.) ...Just after they open the books part of the gift take it from them. After all, the books need to be for you...the “gift” is the benefits they will get from your reading the book.
wonderful, clear. the photos help a lot and the text is also helping to develop your practice. I now do the auto massage ritual every week. One of the best books ont the subject for me
As a young bride, I purchased this book with my meager cash-stash. It has continued to be one of the best investments of my married life. Many massage instruction books, especially those with photos, make you feel rather smarmy after perusing their pages. Not this guide. It is tasteful, and the instructions and step-by-step photos, with arrows to show the direction your hands should take, as they sweep across the muscles of your grateful recipient, are simple to follow. More than the photos, there are essential facts every masseuse needs to know to keep their hands strong, yet supple. In addition, you will close the last page knowing how to massage babies, people with cancer, and where lymph nodes are located, among other things. The education received from its pages have won me the hearts of many friends and family members. In fact, if I were ever to give up my current profession, I would feel confident handing out a card with the moniker "masseuse" beneath my name, if I could ever massage professionally without having to go to months and months of school to get a license---even though [from my experience] the knowledge and skills I gained years ago would be enough to keep my calendar full. This IS the ONLY book on massage you will ever need. You will return to it again and again to review.
