Ha ha... ok now I think this is my favorite in the series, but since I said that about the last book I'll add... so far. I've been waiting for Fiora to have her chance to really shine and show (not just tell) that she is Fiddler's equal and partner. Plus I really love Benny. Originally published in 1991, they finally have cell phones...big boxy ones. I love all the time explaining the mobile technology. Such a fun series.

MONEY BURNS - Ex
Maxwell, A.E. - 6th of series

He's handsome, hard-edged, and great with a gun. She's a drop-dead sexy financial whiz. And even though their marriage was a failure, Fiddler and Fiora still make terrific partners, both in and out of bed. So when Fiora is asked to help save an old family bank from imminent ruin, she ropes Fiddler into helping out with the muscle part of the assignment while she handles the number-crunching.

It doesn't take long to see what's gone wrong with the Southern California bank-the fourth-generation family member now in charge has business practices that would put the FDIC, DEA, FBI and all kinds of other government agencies on red alert. Not the least of which is laundering $15 million for a slick South American businessman whose interests lie mainly in the jungles of Colombia.

Quickly swept up into a dangerous game of smuggling and serious financial finagling, the investigative team must rely on Fiora's razor-sharp mind--and Fiddler's aim--to save not only the bank, but their lives, and that of a child who's far from naïve, but innocent all the same.

A reliably great series.

Sixth in the series featuring divorced P.I. duo Fiddler and Fiora--by the author of The King of Nothing. When Fiora is asked to help save an old family bank from ruin, she ropes Fiddler into handling the muscle, while she handles the number-crunching. But the discovery of money-laundering soon has the pair smuggling and finagling to save the bank--and themselves.
