Nothing about Jeffrey Tashard’s death was what it seemed!
Based on the author’s sixteen years as a litigator, "Wrongful Death" is a contemporary legal thriller about an attorney who finds himself trapped between doing what is right and doing what is allowed as he struggles to learn what really happened to Jeffrey Tashard. And as Attorney Scott Blakely was about to discover, this extraordinary case might require an extraordinary solution.
Andrew Price has spent sixteen years doing everything you can imagine in the legal profession. He's worked for the Federal government doing government contracts. He's worked for what would become one of the biggest law firms in the world. Finally, he started his own general practice, where he's sued and defended just about everyone, from companies to people to hospitals to cities. He's represented lots of cops, he's dabbled in criminal law and he's handled numerous state and federal trials. He's even appeared many times before state Supreme Courts.
Mr. Price strikes again with a compelling legal thriller. Wrongful death is very well written. The dialogue is good (with some nice bits of humor) and the narratives are well done with descriptions that allow for great visualization.
The main characters are very well drawn, especially Scott, who is likeable. All of the characters are believable. I would have liked more insight into Scott's personal history and private life. One always wants to know more about interesting people and Scott is interesting.
The premise is carried out nicely with good pacing; however, there are several errors that caused me to stumble and have to reread certain things. To provide a couple of examples, typos such as "of" in place of "on," and "to given them privacy" instead of "to give them privacy." These errors didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book as a whole, but they did cause interruption in the flow of my reading. The text is not heavily burdened with errors, but there are enough to warrant mention. I was" involved" in the plot and curious to see how the case would come out. I was not disappointed with the resolution
I have now read both of the books Mr. Price has available on Amazon and I have greatly enjoyed both of them. He has a true talent. I eagerly await his next offering.
There was a bit of coarse language, appropriate to the story and not excessively used. There was no sexual content, no violence. Essentially, it's pretty clean, which is appreciated.
I received a copy of this book in a promotion. My review is my own personal opinion and was not influenced by any person or entity.
