Sending space vehicles to Mars has been a long vision for many countries and scientists for several years. As the author of this story I have attempted to achieve this using existing and former known technologies, rather than the modern aspiration of newer, faster and more powerful technology that is still being developed in the hope that it will fulfil the needs. At present we are still reliant on rockets that must punch their way into space, which limits what we can use to achieve this aim. Looking into the past and using some of the older (and now defunct) methods the conquest of space could probably be realised.
This story attempts to portray this but to add a little spice I have also introduced a hint of sci-fi to give some added interest. I will leave it to the reader to decide how they interpret this, which is why I have written this mostly in dialogue, it gives the reader the opportunity to use their own imagination, much like listening to a radio programme, everyone sees things differently, so reading this you can use your own imaginations as to what is happening.
