About the author

Alaskan author Shelley Gill lives in Homer, Alaska at the end of the road in North America. Her books reflect her life: racing in the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, doing humpback research in Prince William Sound and working as a naturalist in various habitats: Alaska, Antarctica and Hawaii. Her current project, Whale Detective, follows her own research into the community life of humpbacks in Alaska. Her APP What's Up With Whales is in the App Store and looks at the new science about whales around the world. And in February her first board book: If I Were A Whale will be released by Sasquatch Books. She has visited 4800 schools around the world inspiring students to be avid readers and great writers. Not the greatest book, didn’t have a concrete story so it was boring to read. It just talked about the history of the egg, about different myths involving eggs and the world. It then started explaining how animals lay eggs and how all that system works for every animal, it was not so fun to read.
It does explain quite well how all these animals come to life and how all that eggy process works.
The pictures of the book were actually good, I definitely enjoyed them specially the penguins because they remind me of my crazy cousin.
I actually wouldn’t recommend this book, but if you want to teach a kid about were do animals that lay eggs come from there you have it.
