I love how TTMIK sets up their books. I've used several different books and this still is the most user friendly one I've tried. My advice to this would be to learn the vocabulary on an app like memrise first, before going through the lessons. They also have a workbook that goes with it which is very helpful. 10/10.
After finishing TTMIK Level 1, I was eager to start with Level 2 which consisted of a total of 30 chapters – five more than Level 1. Level 2 was just as fun, frustrating, interesting, educational, and amazing as Level 1. More particles and tenses were introduced as well as conjunctions, telling time, counters, prepositions, or the imperative.
The more I learn and study with TTMIK, the more I get a feeling for the language. The chapters are short but informative, only give out the neccessary information and explanations, and give enough sample sentences to understand the grammar points and apply it yourself in the book's exercices and the accompanying work book.
Since the TTMIK grammar books are build up on one another, it is essential to study Level 1 first.
It's more helpful if you've completed at least half the words from My First 500 Korean words. Good book that presents grammar in an easily understood way.
I bought level 1 and 2 together. A lot of different textbooks kind of overlap, so I don't think the content presented in both level 1 and 2 are not enough to justify the cost of the book. Their lessons online are still free and still accessible.
The lessons are very clear and easy to understand. I love to use it paired with the workbook and podcast lessons. This is one of the best resources I have found so far while studying korean
Great book. I guess, i just want to read a fine length of story which combine vocab, grammar that i’ve learnt. It would be great if the story have a little annotation that tells, which sentences using which grammar.
It will make me going like ‘ohhhhh, this is how you make use of this grammar’. Kind of like that.
