It touches upon all of the things that change during summer, and how you know summer is here. Tell Me Framework (4 sentences in your own words): Like(s): I like how it shows multiple ways to know that summer is here. Dislike(s): I feel the book didn’t flow well, I often felt like I missed or skipped a page. Patterns(s): Each set of pages had one sentence about summer, and a picture to illustrate the sentence. Puzzle(s): Why did the story feel so disconnected? Consideration of Instructional Application (3-4 sentences in your own words): This book could be read when learning about the season of summer. In my curriculum, I used this book before doing the ‘ice cream math’ activity. During the activity we talk about why ice cream melts in the summer, and part of this book shows a child getting sticky from eating ice cream in the sun.
