Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
I bought this because the FBI characters are my favorites, haha.
This edition is a great complement to Volumes 42 (Vermouth Reveal) and 58 (Kir Showdown)!
You get Jodie's debut (at the Arcade), Akai's debut (the Bus Hijacking), which have important foreshadowing for the Vermouth Reveal in Volume 42.
There's the 2 "FBI vs Black Org" chapters, but not the Kir debut that leads into them, so it kinda feels like you're jumping into this case in the middle of events... which you technically are.
After that, there's the case where Camel becomes a suspect in a case, while Akai gets called by Kir to meet at Raira Pass. This is a great complement to Volume 58, which kinda leaves you hanging in the middle of this case.
There's Subaru's debut and the case with Scar!Akai at the Shopping Center, both cases being important foreshadowing for Volumes 72 and 85.
And you finish on the "Sera meets Heiji" case, for whatever reason! (though I'm not complaining)
Overall, a very worthwhile collection of cases, with only that little downside on the Kir debut.
It was so interesting, especially when the part of Ms Jodie first appearance, the arcade games case. All the FBI agent must be so helpfull to catch the Black Org.
Sebenernya yg dibaca Shuichi Akai collection, tapi isbn nya ga ada 😂. Mengenang kembali kasus2 yang melibatkan Akai, eh ujung2nya si Rei tetep muncul juga disini, dasar tukang bikin oleng 🤣.
so entertaining and suuper tense especially the part where they tried to catch black organization. i think detective conan is the one that’s influenced my genre the most. till these day i’m still watching the anime version and sometimes re-read my physical copy of detective conan, though i didn’t collect them in sequence
