It's...fine. Very out of date at this point, so probably not the best book to pick up, but the writing is easy to get through and the drawings are interesting. The design, and even the discussion of the design is somewhat hilariously out-of-date, with a descent amount of references to the needs of the "house wife", and the "man of the house", which might not be to everyone's tastes! But it did give me some ideas of the basics, which is what I was looking for.
