Five stars because I was obsessed with this book as a kid. I just found my old one and it’s falling apart with dorky stuff written and drawn in it. So, good for dorky weather kids. It’s pretty basic if you’re already in the know.
These guides are great summaries of the introductory science around the topic. In this case, weather. If you have kids that are science oriented, these are great read aloud books for the younger set or are good for proficient young readers.
I love the Golden Guide Collection. While some are outdated, certainly this one is as the study of weather forecasting and meteorology have gone far beyond the contents of the book first published in 1957, this guide is still an important reference. Recently, I used a copy to help me predict weather while camping. There is more useful information in this guide than on the Weather Channel.
