Jo Clark continues her business of giving women the sexual experience they desire. However, as time goes on, so do Jo's doubts. She stumbles when one of her clients schedules a second visit, regains her footing, if only slightly, with a woman who fantasizes about her therapist and steps up her game for a butch-identified lesbian who feels judged, misunderstood and sexually unfulfilled. But through all this, Jo's interactions with her new friend, Avery, are foremost on her mind. She can't admit to herself that she might have feelings for Avery. What will Jo do with her business once her heart is no longer in it? Having promised herself she'd never allow her heart to be broken again, what will she do when she can't get thoughts of Avery out of her mind?
Sam Kestrel writes lesbian erotica, romance and mystery. Sam is a quiet, behind-the-scenes kind of gal and she can't actually believe that with this pen name, she had the guts to start writing erotica. Just another lesson in the universe having other ideas when we're off making plans. In her other life she writes children's books and figures that it's best to keep these pen names separate. Think of her as writing for the entire family. She has something for almost everyone! Her writing journey started on Medium where she began with short stories of 2k words or less. But now she wants to write more complicated characters and stories and is shifting into longer works that will allow her to do that. Through her newsletter and website, samkestrel.com, Sam hopes to connect with her readers. She really wants you to drop her a line. No kidding. And newsletter subscribers get a free epilogue to Working From Home, a short story not available anywhere else.
Jo is growing closer to Avery, but her job is getting in the way. She decided to give herself a deadline to choose a new path. I loved how Jo has helped women and hope she can find a different way to help. I want Jo to have a chance with Avery. I can’t wait for a book about them.
Conflict abounds in Jo's mind as she wrestles with her sudden sense of emptiness after sex with strangers she's helping sort out their sexuality and her constant thoughts of Avery. She settles on scheduling a few more clients in order to gage whether she should continue her successful business. Finding herself less enthusiastic, even with dry panties, Jo begins to consider if there aren't other creative ways to help women questioning their sexuality instead of falling into bed together for sizzling sex. And what does Avery even have to do with her decision?
Working From Home 5: Lesfic Series, FF erotica, FF first time (Supporting the Queer Needs of Women Three Steamy Stories Plus One) by Sam Kestrel This book is much the same but not as erotic as the earlier books. I liked it as well as the others. Jo's best client should be herself. She is missing out on her own advice. There will be another book about the future of Jo Clark and her business. I look forward to it. 5 stars. This is a good series as it captured me and took me on a journey. I liked the writing style and many of the characters as well.
Sam Kestrel beings the the Working From Home series to a close on a more serious note than it started out. Less erotica in this novelette as Jo wonders at her choices. Could there be a love interest developing...? Looks like we're going to find out as Sam Kestrel is writing a novel featuring Jo plus one out later this year 😀.
(No *need* to read the coming novel; the series does reach a conclusion.)
I love how Jo interacts with the women, especially helping in creative and meaningful ways. There was a lot of introspection and soul searching in this one. The author lures you in so very well you don’t even realize that these stories are short! Can’t wait to read “Guarded Hearts” and get even more in-depth with Jo and Avery!!
2 stars. This series fell off hard. Jo hoed tf out of the last client and I didn't like that. I know there's going to be a book that focuses on Jo and Avery but idk. I might read it but yeah this series ended up being disappointing as hell.
Jo really came full circle. She was living carefree and did not want any feelings. She met Avery, and all things changed. Loved Jo was able to find her true self.
