Text for parents and teachers of young adolescents. Short, well researched, well written regarding the plethora of changes young adolescents encounter. Most fascinating is information about physiological changes: they are developing knee caps, tailbone is fusing, brain releases enough adrenaline for youth to run the length of a football field in random spurts (like when they're taking a quiz or in church). How any of us make it through puberty is a miracle.

Had to read this for my ISU class. It is a nice short book packed with information on the physical, intellectual, and pyscho-social development of young adolescents. A must read for any teacher of students in grades 4-8.

Excellent book on understanding middle school behaviors and strateigies to bring adolescents in harmony with middle school. I would love to believe our middle schools operate with these practices.
