I have really enjoyed the different gardens the main character has tackled in the course of this series. All of the characters have developed nicely through the books.

this was a fun book---set in Portland, Oregon, and a fictional town near Hood River, OR (both places I know well). I'm not sure if it would be as enjoyable if one weren't imagining the exact places being discussed in the book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was billed as a 'gardening mystery'---something I'd never heard of. The protagonist is a landscaper who loves plants and the victim was a famous botanist. It makes use of the Leach Botanical Garden in Portland as a setting (though using a different name in the book), and has likable characters and a few villains.

Another standard cozy that doesn't win me over by breaking new ground (ha, gardening pun), but appeals because of the fictionalized Oregon setting, the Columbia River Gorge.

Loved the gardening side of the story but sometimes I questioned the sleuth's common sense (ah, these amateurs!). Despite this, it was pleasant reading.
