Excellent; very comprehensive, and no animal not included. All sorts of wonderful little nuggets of information available.
The size and extent of this book is shown with its heaviness, I clumsily dropped it on an upstairs floor once, and the lights shook downstairs.

It highlights little things like the scale of the animal compared to humans, and the animals habitat. How it gets along: its adaptations and features, and also its food sources.
There are lots of informative pictures in this book; like a European Harvest mouse climbing a flower, or a annotated picture of a Hyena.


I would recommend this sterling piece of non fiction for any animal lover, or a pickup and browse book for anyone interested in the wonderful world of Animals.

I loved reading this and I'm 27! This book is for all ages and especially recommended for animal lovers. Pictures are brilliant and wording is simple and easy to understand. This is one of my books that 'I will read again' :)

Finally finished it, only once I allowed myself to skip the animals I didnt care much for (around 60-70% mark). Finally ready to let this book go, declutter declutter!! :D A massive weight lifted.
