If you like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the Twilight series, you’ll love Zoe Winters’ paranormal romance series.
Gothic romance bestseller.
The Catalyst: The Preternaturals, Book 3
Kidnapping is not an appropriate way to acquire a babysitter. Ah, screw it. Desperate times...
Panthers don’t do responsibility. They don’t do long-term relationships. They definitely don’t raise kids. But when Z discovers a young werewolf in the forest, he takes him in, unaware of the powerful beings hunting the pup. Plus the little furball is driving him insane.
Fiona is a witch who can’t leave her house; the birds have told her something bad will happen. The mailbox is as far as she’ll go, but even that may provide more danger than she’s bargained for. When a wolf pup stumbles into her garden, her safe, wrapped-up world heads for a free fall, especially when a sexy panther shifter kidnaps her to his cave to help him look after the pup.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: The Catalyst is an ensemble book that also features Jane and Cole (from Blood Lust) and Cain (from Blood Lust and Save My Soul)
Zoe Winters’ Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy Series: The Preternaturals Enter a world of dark desire and dark magic where today’s hero is tomorrow’s villain... or vice versa. Unleashed passions between unlikely lovers rage against the backdrop of a world of conflict and infighting among the secret factions of the preternatural underworld.
Are you the villain if you’ve got good reasons? Are you the hero just because we’re rooting for you? Tormented alphas, charismatic and ruthless leaders, and the women torn and trapped between them, forced into situations they never should have had to face.
Amidst a world of ignorant humans, the demons (true immortals), vampires, and therians (shapeshifters) fight to keep their territories. The only humans aware of this world are the magic users: witches, wizards, and sorcerers who enjoy the ability to mix with the humans or the monsters depending on what suits their current purposes.
If the preternatural world is discovered and war breaks out, the humans have a chance... IF the magic users choose to cast their fate with their own kind. Magic combined with technology would even the playing field more than the monsters are comfortable with.
Dark lovers you’ll meet in this series:
Cain: He’s an incubus dream boat, physically, but it’s nearly impossible to keep up with his body count. Any woman who comes to his bed is likely never to leave... at least not alive. But what happens when he meets a woman with a true death wish, the one meal he discovers he doesn’t want to kill?
Anthony: The vampire king. Cold, ruthless, undead, and hard to like. Yet, all it takes is one human with amnesia, to soften his heart. More than anything, he wants to return to a time when Charlotte saw him for the man he is, instead of the monster she’s discovered. Ever since being bitten, she hasn’t been the same. It soon becomes clear that the only way to protect a fragile human is if she’s claimed. Meanwhile, his deepest wish is to have his lover awakened from the memory loss that took everything... not just the memories he meant to erase.
Cole: Alpha of one of the strongest werewolf packs in North America. His moral compass goes askew when he finds the woman fated to be his, and he can’t resist kidnapping her. With the life of abuse she’s suffered at the hands of the vampires, it might be a welcome rescue. But the werewolves have a worse reputation than the vampires, a fact that doesn’t inspire much trust. Not your classic sweet werewolf love story. But being an alpha’s mate brings with it a safety and security Jane has never known.

Oh, man. There were so many little things I liked about this book - Fiona's agoraphobia, her ineptitude in spell casting, her social awkwardness, Z and his rocking bachelor pad. Did I like the lengths Z went to to make sure Fiona would help him? Well... no, but it did shock her out of her very regimented life and forced her to reevaluate her fears. Frankly, the fact that she allowed the whisperings of the birds to dictate how far she was willing to walk from her front door tells me that she desperately needed a good shaking up.
Now, I did have some problems remembering who Jane and Cole were and how they fit into the overall world at first. It's been a while since I read the first book and their characters didn't pop into my head right away. However, once I placed them, I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting their tumultuous relationship. As long as I'm on the subject of reoccurring characters... Cain! Love the dude. His book is going to be so fun. I can't wait to see him fall and fall hard! And Father Hadrian. Wow. His story should be very interesting.
While I enjoyed the story overall, I wouldn't have minded a little more time spent with our hero and heroine. I do love the setup we're getting for the overriding arc but Fiona and Z were interesting and I felt like we spent a lot of time with Cain, the demons and the wolves when we could have been watching Fiona and Z get all tangled up emotionally in one another. Still, I did like the book and I'm excited by the hints we got about upcoming shenanigans.

Expected Release Date: June 5, 2012 Publisher: Self Published Imprint: N/A Author’s Website: zoewintersbooks.com My Source for This Book: Amazon.com Part of a Series: Yes, Book 3, Preternaturals Series Best Read In Order: Yes Steam Level: Steamy
I would definitely recommend that new readers go back and pick up the earlier stories in the series before reading this one. As someone who has read the entire series, but has forgotten much of the details, I found myself struggling to follow along at times, and while I think Ms. Winters did an admirable job of making this book stand alone, I do feel like I missed out on how meaningful some of the events actually were in the context of the series.
That said, I did enjoy it. While not as heavy on the steam as many paranormal romances, there was plenty of chemistry and romance to be had in the meantime. While I did wish that Fiona had a little less hormonal reaction to Z and a little more emphasis on the agoraphobia, I enjoyed her character immensely. I also really enjoyed how Z's behavior was not typical for a jaguar shifter, since that made his reaction to Fiona quite a bit more meaningful in my mind.
Overall, while I personally think that previous fans of the series are going to benefit most from this story, I would recommend it for fans of reformed rakes, agoraphobic heroines, and reunited lovers.
I really liked this book. Z and Fiona had great chemistry and the way the both wanted each other but didn't want each other had me glued to the pages.
Fiona has a bit of a phobia, she is scared to go out of her cottage, she even has to suck up the courage to go to her mailbox. She is kind of a weak witch but she can talk to animals. Then there is Z he is a total alpha male, love them and leave them type of guy and freaking crazy hot! Oh and a were-panther. He has found a baby werewolf and is trying to protect him and find his pact. Once he stumbles (or should I say breaks through the window) in Fiona's path he wants her to help him since the were is only in wolf form and she can communicate with him.
Fiona after being alone so long can't help but want Z. I mean the girl never leaves her house so its not like finding a guy is happening. And even though Z wants her, he really tries to not give into his urges since she is a virgin, and well virgins are complications.
You get to see some old characters too. I was surprised how big in the story Cole and Jane were. But I loved it. I mean at first when we switched stories I was like no no no, I want Z back, but I came around.
I really love this series, if you haven't you need to start with the first book! Each book has a different story with different characters. They always have lots of action and lots of great steamy scenes. Plus you get a little of everything from witches, weres, vampires, humans, succubus, incubus and sorcerers!
After reading the second book in the series and hearing that my favorite characters from that book returned in this one, I decided to read it. I adored the second book, but this one not so much. My personal tastes just didn't mesh with Fiona and Z's "relationship." I am not a fan of alphas and honestly Z was rather emotionally abusive to Fiona. I wanted her to leave him for her own good.
He put down her phobia, which I found appalling because living with mental illness is hard enough, didn't seem to show understanding of it, except for when she cried. I honestly think he just hates tears so it wasn't really HER he cared for, and for crying out loud the man kidnapped her and drugged her. Using too much could have seriously harmed her!
Also, it made no sense to me why Fiona would be all hopped up and ready to go with this man just because she had been isolated so long. A person can be isolated and not turn into a nonsensical horn dog over some man who has drugged her, put her down, and kidnapped her, and basically told her she is just a f***. Their "romance," the whole thing felt and read so forced. I mean, it made sense for his character to be the way he was (as awful as he was), but not her. I don't see them lasting, and honestly I didn't like how when she told him no to having sex that he kept trying until she gave in. My stomach churned. NOT sexy. I mean, it could be my personal taste, but I don't find that as boyfriend material, or even roll in the sheets material, that is like abusive, date rape territory, not to mention, um, he kidnapped and drugged her! TWICE! And suddenly he loves her freckles? Like, why? It was never explained why he's got this weird change of heart, but even after he does, he's still an ass, and I still didn't want them together.
Despite all that, I forced myself through the book because I wanted to read book four because it focuses on some of the characters I loved from book two. I want to see what happens to Cain and Tam, so I read this for their story.
One thing I did love in this book was was Cain and Tam. They cracked me up. I love how Cain was like some frustrated, disgruntled father trying to put out all these fires and save the stupid people from themselves. Tam's ability to put him in his place was also hilarious. It was nice to see Cain kinda humanized when in book two he was just so straight up evil. I also loved seeing Luc and Anna again. (Luc and Anna forever!!) Jane's side story was also interesting, but I lost interest after a while because I was not digging her with Cole (again, just my personal distaste of the whole alpha trope). It seemed strange that there wasn't more fleshed out with Jane meeting Charlee again and she seemed a bit too lax on the whole kidnapping thing toward her friend. I didn't buy it as a realistic interaction.
Back to Fiona, another thing that bothered me about her was that she did not feel real or believable to me. I kinda felt that the author might have been bored with writing her or didn't fully understand her because compared to all her other characters and how I saw her write in book two, Fiona was so flat. I think her phobia needed fleshed out more to help her become believable. Her characterization and motivations were just missing too much to make me believe she really wanted Z, since what was there was so forced. I suppose compared to the other book, this felt kind of rushed since a lot of details were not fleshed out. The writing was not as clever as book two either. I would have loved to have seen the conversation where Cain told Cole again Jane, or for Luc and Anna to have spoken up more, for the Jane and Charlee thing to have been more realistic, and for the actual battle to have been shown. I really wanted to love this book, but this one was just not my cup of tea and I wouldn't call this one a romance.

I received this book for free through the Goodreads Giveaway. I received it quite a long, LONG time ago, and now that I’ve read it (in less than twenty-four hours), I regret not picking it up before.
After realizing that I’d won the third book in the series, I thought it appropriate to read the first two before this one to understand the story and give an honest review. I hadn’t realized that the books are independent of each other, but the third book holds many of the characters from the first two books, so I’m glad I made that decision.
While so far, the second book is my favorite out of the series; I did enjoy this read. Fiona is a very relatable character in terms of modern society, and many of her interactions with other characters and situations feel real and flow nicely.
The book(s) are written in a simple, yet sleek way. The language use is straightforward, with very little need for using too much detail, and I enjoy the writing style that the author uses, it’s effortless to read and just as enjoyable.
Unfortunately, my biggest problem with the story, and after reading some other reviews, I’m not the only one with this problem, is the lack of story between our main characters, Fiona and Z. I felt like more than half the book was revisiting past characters to further the story and make it understandable to the readers, and while there is nothing wrong with that, I would have preferred more of Fiona and Z. They are who the story is about, after all.
Another problem with the story and this extends to the previous books as well, is the timeframe. Everything is happening in two weeks (including previous books), and these characters are falling deeply in love with each other. I understand mating between the preternaturals, but I would have loved more in-depth character development or longer time between their meeting and realizing the other is “the one.” Because that is a personal issue I have with the books, it isn’t affecting my rating because I still really enjoyed reading it.
I would recommend this book to fans of the genre or people curious about the genre. However, I would recommend reading the previous two first because even though they are independent character stories, the overall story is easier to understand if everything is read in order.
I’m most likely going to pick up the fourth book because it looks to me like it might rival the second book as the favorite in the genre.
I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down, except I had to work *frowns*. It is the third book in the series. Book one was actually three short stories, which were great short reads. Book two wasn't as good in my opinion, but still a good read. This one really sealed the deal for me on this series. We have a agoraphobic novice witch and a very dominate and independent panther. Oh, and there is a werewolf pup who was born as a pup and can't shift human until he is 4 or 5. How cute is that?
So, the panther finds the pup and takes him, except the pup wanders. He is found by the witch who ventured out to get the mail. The panther proceeds to kidnap her to get her to babysit will he finds the pup's pack.
This book brings back many characters from the previous two books. So, we have witches, demons, vampires, shifters (both panther and wolf), did we miss anyone? I don't think so, oh wait, a witch that is quite corporeal. That covers it. Just an all around great story. I will be starting book four tomorrow. Then, I'll be hounding the author to finish more stories, dammit!
Loved this book and how Fiona and Z’s story unfolded. Z the self proclaimed bachelor who keeps picking up strays, Fiona the scared witch who fears even walking to her mailbox, what a pair. The connection to previous characters was flawless and fun. Jane is now so powerful and I only felt sorry for Charlee being a helpless pawn in all the mess. Anthony was being a beast but got knocked back down a few levels. Loved seeing Luc, Anna and Tam again. Of course leave it to Zoe/Kitty to redeem an unredeemable character in Cain, actually really liked him in this book and decided he isn’t all bad. Kind of like what happened with Brian in the Pleasure House series.
1st reading. Good story, but the back and forth between Z and the girl - geez, I've already forgotten her name, and I just this moment finished the book - got old. Good to see Jane and Cole. Disturbing to see Anthony as such a seemingly uncaring dick. Predicting Cain and Tam coming up, which is kind of disappointing... Not every character needs to be paired up, for fuck's sake.

Everyone has too much baggage to make this story interesting. The baby wolf pup was a great draw but he gets lost in the damaged personalities around him.
In my notes I wrote down some thoughts before I started reading The Catalyst. Basically that I knew nothing of this story before I started reading, but I have read this authors work before and loved it. So I had high hopes for this story. Plus the main male is a panther shifter. That is completely hot in and of itself, right?!?
First this story starts with Fiona, an agoraphobic witch who can’t go past her own yard. And she doesn’t practice her craft, so she isn’t exactly a very good witch. She never leaves the house at all, she works from home, has food delivered and doesn’t even tend the yard. But right away you get the feeling (and you’d be right) that she is very caring and sensitive. You want her to get over her phobias and realize how much there is out there for her… Like a panther shifter in particular… Ahem. Then one day she finds a wolf pup in her yard who seems lost and hungry, so she brings him in for some food. Then… CRASH!!!
Enter Z! Woohoo hot panther! Way to make an entrance!! Z literally crashes through her window. Then he sees that she is a good witch and not a bad witch, and well, now he’s crashed through her window. Bad panther!! Z sees an opportunity here though; nice woman, wolf pup… sounds like a great way of easing his responsibilities!
What Z does to get Fiona to come back to his home is absolutely priceless, and I loved it. And I am not telling you what it is. But it is fantastic. Zoe Winters definitely injects bits of humor here and there throughout this story, and I loved it.
So now Z and Fiona have a mission. Take care of the pup and find his family. And his family are crossovers from other books of hers, so if you are a Zoe Winters fan, you will enjoy seeing Cole, Jane, and Cain. Frankly after reading this book, I HAVE to read more about Cain. Wooohooo, gotta love a demon!
Back to this story. It really was full of lots of action. And because of the whole addition of Cole, Jane and Cain, I felt like I was getting two stories in one. As for Jane and Cole’s situation, I am not entirely sure what happened in their book, so I don’t want to blow the secret on that. But suffice it to say, what happens in The Catalyst really feels like it’s the best possible outcome. And even without knowing their whole backstory, I was so happy for what happened there…. Ok Liz, vague much??
If you are a fan of shifter stories, than you will really love this. You’ve got wolves and panthers, but on top of that this story also has demons and vampires. Really, its terrific. The sexual tension and chemistry between Z and Fiona is palpable. You are on pins and needles waiting for “the moment”. You know the moment, the one where fireworks go off and you, as the reader, feel like you get everything you ever wanted because these two people who you have grown attached to finally get their acts together and “get together” themselves? Yeah, that moment. And this story is chock full of wonderful moments that will have you cheering in excitement. And Fiona grows quite a bit within these pages, and that was a real treat. Even though Alphas can definitely play the part of a jerk, Fiona handles Z well, and well… Z is an alpha panther shifter. Nuff said.
Oh! Bonus! Cole (werewolf shifter) runs a website that all kinds of paranormal and not-so-paranormal beings use to get blood! And even better, its an actual website, so be sure to check out theriantype.com!
Let me start pointing out that panther is my fave animal so, reading a book with that kind of shifters was more than a pleasure for me. But all truth to be told, the whole book was a great pleasure to read. A captivating, passionate story with handsome men in it? Yes, it was definitely a real pleasure!
I couldn’t have loved Z more, and this thanks to his being so caveman! That’s what honestly makes him so damn special and so-so-sexy. I loved his constant putting Fiona on the edge, and if there were moments in which I laughed, others I was screaming to Fiona “What? Seriously girl, how much self control do you have!?”. Then, I have to admit my attention wasn’t just for Z . . . In fact, I might have put my eyes on Cain even more. He . . . Sorry, my mind has censored all thoughts. It’s a huge relief that the next book in the series is soon to be released since it’s about Cain!
If what is taking you from reading this book is not having read the previous two installments in the series yet, you might wanna reconsider that. I can understand the concern of picking a series in the middle. What if I can’t follow the story properly? What if I can’t really get attached to the characters? That’s the main reason why I always prefer reading a series from the beginning, too. However, The Catalyst is definitely a book that can be read per se. I was new to the Preternaturals world, I had just read a novella, Dark Mercy, but I wasn’t afraid for a second not to be involved in the story and this because the author has a very fluid style and the capacity to let me dream about every man, shifter, vampire or whatever she puts on paper. This is exactly what I loved the most, the amazing connection I had with everyone and to be able to follow everything pretty well, even if I was new to the series.
I received a free copy of this book from the Author for an honest review. This does not affect in any way my opinion of the book nor the content of my review—originally posted on Darkest Sins.
Ahhh, I love the Preternatural world that Zoe has created. In The Catalyst, book 3 in the series introduces us to a whole new set of characters. While revisiting some of our favorites from the first two books.
In The Catalyst we meet Z & Fiona. Z is a werepanther, who loves his solitary bachelor lifestyle. Yet, Z finds a soft spot in his heart to help an abandoned werewolf pup. Only problem is that the darn pup has run away and now Z has to track him down and he is not very happy about it. When Z finally catches up with the pup he is with a witch. A witch that can speak to animals. so Z does what any good werepanther would do. He threatens the witch into helping him, then kidnaps her. Fiona has not go past her mailbox in years. You see Fiona suffers from Agoraphobia or a panic disorder that has left her home bound. So she knows it is a bad idea to go to the mailbox today. But when she hears a whining in her side yard she does the un-normal thing and detours to see what the noise is. That is when Fiona finds the werepup. Doing the right thing Fiona takes the pup in the house and feeds him. Next thing she knows there is a very angry werepanther has broke into her house and has her cornered.
Z and Fiona are complete opposite in every way, yet they work so well together.
If you have read Zoe’s first two books in the Preternatural series you will love Z & Fiona’s story. The Catalyst creates a whole new set of problems for the Preternaturals in and around Cary Town.
I would suggest reading this series in order.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. The following review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
First, before I start with the character analysis, this was an incredibly creative story. I was really impressed with the creation myths centered around each species. They were very unique and I LOVE unique. This book had a little bit of everything, including a very entertaining and funny witch!
Fiona has a fear of the outside and it goes deeper than the birds telling her something bad is going to happen if she goes outside. On her routinely stressful everyday trip to the mailbox, Fiona hears a cry. Having the gift that allows her to communicate with animals, she is at first confused when she can't get a read on it. Then she realizes its young and doesn't have a good enough grasp on the language to tell Fiona whats going on. No sooner does she take it in the house than she is attacked bu....a panther? No! Its a shifter. Fiona acts fast to try and communicate with him. But when Z reveals his human form to her, nothing can keep her eyes from devouring the splendid display of flesh!!
Z is a bachelor and he wants to keep it that way. Every since he stumbled on the pup his life has been in an uproar. He just wants things to go back to normal, and this witch may be the ticket he is looking for! And the pup likes her! But its more than her smell that attracts Z. But his life was going to go back to normal one way or another!
So we have a witch, a moody bacheloresk shifter, and a puppy. And this is only the beginning. There are several stories going on simultaneously and the plot ever thickens. My favorite character is Cain, and just wait until you find out who he is!! This is the third book in the series but I had no problem following it. I thought this book was delightful and can't wait to sample another taste of this series! Excellent read!!
My book blog - http://www.TheBookSnoop.com is participating in a book tour for this title. The tour is organized by Dark Minds Book Tours.
You can always count on Zoe Winters to give you kick butt females and sexy bad boys. The Catalyst doesn't disappoint.
I received this ebook as a free review copy from the author.
My rating falls at 3.5 but I will round up for Goodreads review purposes. First the good stuff - Z and Fiona are well drawn characters. I enjoyed their personalities and Winters was able to keep them in character the entire time. I enjoyed seeing Cain again. There is a rumor that book four will be focused on Cain and Tam. Yay! I can't tell you how excited I am for that book.
Zoe Winters has a knack for writing stories that slowly build in action and sexual tension. Bravo. I for one love to read those types of books. Throw in some hot men and you have me hooked.
Now the parts I felt were lacking - there is a lot going on in this book. We are caught up on a handful of storylines in the preternatural series. The plot is moved forward for a few key players. So unfortunately I wasn't able to sink into a plot. I feel as if I were jumping from book to book.
Save My Soul focused primarily on Luc and Anna. I loved that book. I hope that Ms. Winters decides to take a more focused approach with book four.
A great read. I definitely will read on in the series because I love sexy bad boys.
I think this was my favorite of the Preternaturals books thus far because it ties so many of the characters from the previous books together. Primarily, we focus on Fiona and Z - a rather weak, agorophobic witch and a werepanther. They're brought together by a twist of fate and the chemistry Winters cooks up between them is delightful! Additionally, we get a glimpse into Cain and his thought process which I loved! I hope another book comes out soon with Cain as the main character - falling for Tam perhaps? In addition to Tam, we also see Cole, Jane, Anthony, Charlee, Luc, and Anna in this book. I really liked the ensemble cast and felt that the broadened scope and change in POVs added tremendously to the story. I could see this series holding my interest and continuing on for a very long time. It sort of reminds me of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series in the way that each book introduces and builds upon new characters. I love that series and am really loving this one too. It seems like it just keeps getting better! Winters has created a very rich world that I look forward to learning more and more about. Can't wait to read what's next!
This is the third book in the series and I haven’t read the first two. Does it matter or the book is good enough to stand alone? Well, till almost the end of the book, it does not matter. The book is good enough to stand alone till then. But during the climax, things got so confusing with me trying to figure out who is who and what happened in the past. So, it’s better if you read the series in order.
What does the book entail? It has lots of paranormal (incubus, succubus, witches, vampires and werewolves), romance, a bit of mystery and lots of action. And ooh, I forgot the psychological bit (agoraphobia). The book is mostly fast paced.
So well, if you are a big time paranormal fan, this book is just for you. Go pick it up once you are done with the other two in the series.
For me, this book made for an ok read since I'm not too much into paranormal and require some more plot and action to my liking.
What an exciting addition to this series. I was so happy to see some of the previous characters come back and play a roll in this story. Without warning we are thrown into a whirlwind of events that have happened since the first books release, the 2nd book was devoid of the previous characters altogether, but I am glad they are back and raising hell! This particular story focuses on Zane and Fiona, Zane is a were-panther living the good life of bachelorism, and Fiona is a weak witch with a fear of the outdoors. They are thrown together with the help of a little pup in need of care. The end result was a bittersweet coupling of aloofness and naivety. I would recommend this series to those who enjoy all things paranormal. It's an engaging read that will keep you entertained and turning pages to see what happens next. Look forward to the next installment.
Zoe Winters you've done it again!!! yet another book that i just couldnt put down! I love how previous characters come back into this book. I was shocked with the twist about Jane and Cole though... couldnt believe it really... had to re-read it until i made sure i got it right lol it all worked out in the end though, so i was happy :) i love Z. he's such a manly character lol typical bachelor, life is turned upside down, and falls madly in love. of course, he'd never admit it, lol. I love Cain in this book too. Couldnt stand him in the previous book, but he sorta grew on me. I wanna see what his story is gunna be about, and if he ends up with who i think he will? MUST READ THE NEXT IN THE SERIES! :)
I should start this review by saying that I haven't read the previous two books in the series. With that said, I still really enjoyed this book. I was entertained throughout the whole thing.
Fiona was a very intriguing character, and I love the fact that she has agoraphobia. Z was extremely sexy, and I really want him as my own. The two of them had amazing chemistry together. The supporting characters were pretty much all great too.
If I didn't have so many other books that I have to read, I would definitely pick up the first two in the series right now. I really hope the next book is about Cain. He was by far my favorite.
I think this must be a series you need to read in order. And if it's like previous volumes: a lot of stuff happens to a lot of different people and you need to keep reading the series to find out what happens to the h/h in each. Because the relationship between Z and Fiona seems barely begun by the end of this book.
Given that Z seems creepy, needy and has poor communication skills and that Fiona cries in every scene, I'm not really interested in pursuing this series.
Fiona is agoraphobic. She can understand animals, and the birds have told her that if she leaves her house bad things will happen. Z is a playboy panther shifter who saved a young wolf cub and is trying to return it to his family but in the meantime needs help caring for it. I liked the dynamics between Fiona, even though she was agoraphobic, she was a strong character and called Z on his crap.
So I won this bookin a giveaway and I cant wait to read it, one problem though. I dont own or have ever read the first or second book, so I think I'll read this one and then read one and two, then read this one again lol. Wish me luck!!
I wanted to go back and read the other books in the series before I read The Catalyst. It's really good to see characters have their own books (which is why I try and read all books in order). There are a few paranormal books that I read more than once, this series is already one of them!
I really enjoyed getting back into this series. It had been awhile since I had read the previous books. The book was a fast entertaining read with some of the characters from previous books.
