A snappy, witty mystery featuring Victoria "Vic" Bowering, a struggling New York actress who's just landed a bit part in a soap opera. Then the show's departing star is killed. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read that gave me quite a few actual laugh-out-loud moments. I originally bought this book back in the early 1990s, and it's fun to see the pop culture references of the time (although quite haunting when Vic has a meal at the World Trade Center, which was still standing at the time).

Surprisingly enjoyable story of a 40-ish actress with a moderate psychic talent solving a murder mystery in the TV soap opera world. Part of the "Victoria Bowering" series. The writing was pleasant, often humorous, not great, but readable. The story was fresh, but some of the context was dated. The book was written prior to 9/11 and the World Trade Center is featured in some of the action.

A cozy mystery novel. Her comedy was refreshing, and it was a pretty quick read.
