About the author

Akira Toriyama (鳥山明) was a Japanese manga artist and character designer. He first achieved mainstream recognition for creating the popular manga series Dr. Slump, before going on to create Dragon Ball (his most famous work) and acting as a character designer for several popular video games such as the Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon. Toriyama came to be regarded as one of the most important authors in the history of manga with his works highly influential and popular, particularly Dragon Ball, which many manga artists cite as a source of inspiration.
He earned the 1981 Shogakukan Manga Award for best shōnen/shōjo manga with Dr. Slump, and it went on to sell over 35 million copies in Japan. It was adapted into a successful anime series, with a second anime created in 1997, 13 years after the manga ended.
His next series, Dragon Ball, would become one of the most popular and successful manga in the world. Having sold 260 million copies worldwide, it is one of the best-selling manga series of all time and is considered a key work in increasing manga circulation to its peak in the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. Overseas, Dragon Ball's anime adaptations have been more successful than the manga and are credited with boosting anime's popularity in the Western world. In 2019, Toriyama was decorated a Chevalier of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his contributions to the arts.
In October 2024, Toriyama was inducted into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame.

Highlights con SPOILER:

- Goku che non ha mai sentito parlare di un certo Dio;

- bellissima l’ambientazione divina fluttuante e il colpo di scena sull’identità di Dio;

- la singola vignetta con Junior da bambino.

Sempre avvincente. Dopo una dura battaglia, Goku ha la meglio sul grande mago Piccolo, ma le morti che ha lasciato dietro di sé sono troppe. Per riportare in vita il drago Goku tenterà il tutto e per tutto, anche recarsi davanti a Dio, se necessario!

Ce tome couvre le second "round" du combat entre Goku et le roi démon Piccolo après que Goku soit allé voir Maitre Karin pour boire l'élixir divin (Yajirobé a failli mourir en le goûtant).

Le roi démon a été vaincu et Goku a pu rencontrer le Tout-Puissant (le roi-démon et ce dernier formait autrefois une seule personne) pour lui demander de ressusciter Shenron (bien qu'il n'ait pas vaincu Mister Popo). Shenron ayant été détruit par le roi-démon précédemment.

Les pages en couleur de cette édition sont toujours très belles.

Bientôt l'entrée en scène de mon personnage préféré, Piccolo (fils du roi-démon), bien qu'on l'ait rapidement vu enfant.

Akhirnya, setelah perkelahian yang sengit, Goku berhasil mengalahkan Piccolo sehingga Piccolo gagal untuk memporak-porandakan Bumi. Kemudian, Goku kembali ke Karin-sama untuk mencari jalan keluar bagaimana ia bisa membangkitkan Shenlong yang telah dibunuh Piccolo. Karin-sama memberi tahu bahwa Goku harus bertemu Kami-sama yang tinggalnya lebih tinggi lagi di atasnya. Untuk ke sana, Goku harus memakai tongkat sakti miliknya. Namun, sesampainya Goku di kediaman Kami-sama, betapa terkejutnya ia karena mengetahui Kami-sama sangat mirip dengan Piccolo.

Ed ecco la storia del Grande Gigante Piccolo sulla terra. Si prospettava un periodo di terrore ma Son Goku non è dello stesso avviso. Non è comunque facile sconfiggere un Piccolo demone e così ritroviamo Karin. Che fine ha fatto il drago? Toccherà andare alla ricerca di un modo per farlo ritornare nel mondo. Vedremo...
