Happy to have found this in a charity shop, as I'd hate to give money to the big ball of rage that is Ricky Gervais... a feeling which makes reading these scripts so sad. The man (alongside the brilliant Stephen Merchant) used to actually have something to say. He was offensive, but his risky humour had a point to it. It didn't come from a place of hate but a place of self-mockery. The playful use of celebrities in this series was ingenious, and the progression of the lead character's sitcom in an ironically un-sitcom manner was brilliant. Great scripts. Great read. Get it for 3 quid in an Oxfam like I did.
