What’s a girl to do when her co-worker bestie sends her mixed signals during a work crisis?
This past year has been one for the record books…

First, my Pops checked himself into a nursing home when his dementia started taking over, leaving me on my own for the first time ever.

Second, my impossible-to-please boss has decided to change the emotionally stunted climate of our workplace by throwing me and all my co-workers into the worst social experiment of the decade.

And third, my ex-boyfriend, Mike, has suddenly decided to care about me.

Which brings me to another interesting development…when Parker, my tall, dark, and handsome work bestie, discovers Mike’s intentions, things between us go from friendly to…more than friendly.

I’ve always thought my attraction to Parker was one-sided, but when he starts shooting those flirty looks and touches my way, my heart starts to wonder if the feeling is mutual.

But even if it is, I’m not sure if I can cross over the line of friendship in the midst of a work/life crisis and risk the best relationship I’ve ever had.

Shoutout to the teaser that came up on my Instagram account, otherwise I may have missed this cute little rom-com! There were so many sweet and funny moments between Jamie and Parker; their chemistry was great and that first kiss… swoon. I would have liked to see Jamie and Parker as a couple for one or two more chapters before the end, but otherwise I really enjoyed this. :)

В Sign me Up Паркър е мъж , роден с глухота.

Best Friends at Work

So what would it be like to fall for your best friend who was also your co-worker?

Jamie’s best friend is hearing impaired and she took a special course just to help her to communicate better with him. Parker has always been so considerate and kind, especially when Jamie was going through the break-up with her ex.

Parker feels like he has been relegated to the friend zone, but he feels something for Jamie that he never felt for any other woman. He wants their friendship to be more.

Jamie thinks she is imaging that Parker feels attracted to her, but she is definitely getting a case of “the feels” for him.

This is a sweet and cosy, clean romance worthy of a five star rating. The end ties this to another book in the series, both worthy reads.

What an absolutely delightful friends-to-lovers romcom! This was my first read from Dulcie Dameron, but it most definitely will not be my last!
I was drawn into this story from page one and was sad to see it end!
I loved Jamie, and related so much to her struggles with anxiety, her love of writing, and her passion for reading and reviewing romance novels!
And Parker, oh my stars what an amazing hero, I love him so much! He made me laugh, and his thoughtful tenderness had me swooning into a puddle! To quote Jamie’s friend Daria, “He’s the cinnamoniest cinnamon roll man l’ve ever met in real life. If only he had a twin.”
Amen, sister! Seriously, where do I find me a man like him?!
There were several hilarious scenes in this book that had me laughing out loud, loved that so much! I also loved how the author lightly sprinkled in some serious topics, bringing wonderful depth to the story while also keeping things light and fun!
I adored Parker’s family and I am so excited that the second and third books will feature his brothers, sibling series are my absolute favorite!
And I would be remiss if I did not mention that this author does a fantastic job of writing swoon-worthy, knee-weakening kisses that sizzle while keeping it completely clean! 😍
I loved this story and most highly recommend it! It’s the perfect summer read for the pool or the beach or wherever you’ll be spending a lovely day reading!

I received a complimentary eARC of this book from the author.
My review was not influenced in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.

Basically no plot and everything felt very juvenile, supposed to be adults but all the ‘drama’ was very high school (so much so that the main problem for one character was something that happened in high school). Oh and the other character’s problem came from JUNIOR HIGH. Just wanted to tell these people to grow up. Not engaging enough of a story, I just kept waiting for the interesting part but it NEVER came…overall just felt like it was meh

Favorite Quote:
“It’s been exactly six weeks since she dumped that poor excuse for a boyfriend, Mike, and I’ve patiently bided my time. These past few weeks have felt like an eternity as I’ve watched her get over him. Am I being dramatic? Possibly. But I’ve been in love with Jamie almost since the day I met her. So having to watch her go on date after date with a guy who didn’t appreciate her ate me up inside.”

Y’all, these 2 could not be any cuter!!!!
The fact that Parker has taken the time to notice her love languages, had me in a puddle! 😍🫠
And the fact that Jamie was the only one who went out of her way to learn ASL to be able to talk to Parker was so sweet!!

Some of my favorite parts:
The anxiety attack in the closet! 🥹
The movie in the den! 🫠
The Halloween party! 😘
That final chapter! 💕
The epilogue!! 🤭

This book has a deaf rep and an anxiety rep and I absolutely loved them both!! This will definitely be a top read for me for this year!
And I can’t wait to read Daria and Dane’s story! 🔥😆

So in all of Dulcie Dameron's teasers about this book, she said it gave off The Office vibes, and she was not wrong. If you like The Office, you'll love this book! As a fan myself, I found this book to be thoroughly entertaining.

The camaraderie building activities were fantastic, and Gladys? There MUST be a story about her! That is one spunky, feisty senior citizen, and I want to be her when I grow up!

Also, we for sure need details on that Romanian betrothal ceremony! And Prue, the florist at River Hollow? I see what you did there, Dulcie Dameron! 😉 Hehehe! And Aris and Kat! I love it!

This book is great, and you should go read it right now. And I need Daria's story right now!

*3.75

LOVED:
- The office vibes. I have never worked in an office, but the break room awkward convos, the intimidating boss, the team-building activities, the visit from an elementary school...
- Deaf representation and American Sign Language, even an interpreter!
- Parker showing Jamie that she is more than she perceives herself to be <3

LIKED:
- The "take care of them when they're sick" back to back hehe :) But bringing a sick person junk food wouldn't be my first option
- Parker's family (his mom is the sweetest, but also straight up, like a mom haha)

MEH:
- We didn't get much depth of setting besides the office. Even when they went to a Fall Farm, I didn't have a full understanding of place outside the office.
- Some scenes were too cheesy for my preference
- I didn't care for the Mike storyline at all and think there could have been a better conflict.

What a fab read! I burned through this and it was the perfect antidote to feeling a bit 'meh'. The sheer warmth of this book was a comfort blanket in itself. I particularly loved that the characters were real, not airbrushed. Jamie had her flaws and lots of embarrassing moments (lol), and Parker was not implausibly smooth either. The deaf rep was refreshing, and also I have to say that the scenes with Pops were really touching. Parker's family were exactly the kind you want to be absorbed by, and I am looking forward to more in this series!!! I also liked that Jamie had boundaries and had strength of her own. She wasn’t looking to Parker to solve all her problems. I LOVED the chemistry between them, LOVED Parker's genuineness, and overall, this read was a lovely escape.

This was such a sweet best friends to more romance. I loved how well Dulcie represented a deaf MC and made the heroine even more lovable by working hard to learn ASL 🥹. Both MCs were so darn lovable and made such a sweet couple. It was hard for Jamie to open herself back up to a romantic relationship with a guy friend, which was totally understandable because of how badly she’d be burned in the past.

In true Dulcie fashion the romance was so swoony and the kisses were 🔥 but never took it too far. If you’re looking for a sweet RomCom with a whole lot of heart, Sign Me Up is the book for you! 🩷

A cute workplace/friends-to-lovers story! I loved the ASL/deaf representation & thought it was handled well.

Parker’s family, especially his mum, are my favourite… okay, and Parker’s relationship with his brother Dane. Very sweet.

As for the romance… there was soooo much secondhand embarrassment. Which kinda isn’t my thing. Plus, the kissing & attraction got a little intense for my personal taste.

Still, a cute read! And I am so ready for Dane & Daria, haha 🤭

📝 The Office Vibes

I first fell in love with Dameron's writing and especially her disability representation when I read her novel Next To You. When I heard she was going to be releasing a novel with deaf representation and lots of humor and swoon, I couldn't wait. I won't lie, the bar was set high . . . but Dameron of course delivered. This book is filled was such incredible representation, heart melting swoon, and feel good humor. All the things that make Dameron's books so special!! The only thing I missed were her gorgeous faith conversations. Those have such a special place in my heart and I hope she might consider bringing them back in this series! They are such a special aspect of her novels for me.

I think we need to take a moment to talk about the wonderful representation depicted in the novel. This was NO small feat and Dameron handled it with the grace and poise that we are so accustomed to in her novels. And because she handles it so flawlessly, I think we forget how truly difficult this task is. She always approaches these subjects with care and I love that she gives voice to characters we don't normally see in romance. And that's what I love the most about this book!! I have been wanting to find a book with deaf representation so badly (especially one that does it well) and I am so thankful to the author for writing such a special one. It takes a brave soul to tackle this type of representation in a book, especially when sign language is not easily translated into the written medium. And I think we really need to take the time to thank the author for all the work, research, and care she took in bringing us this novel. So thank you! :)

This is a gorgeous romance that is good for the soul. It's a comfort read for the heart and mind. Because when we open our hearts and minds to new perspectives and how other people live, I believe that's where the magic happens in literature. And those swoony scenes that only Dameron can deliver aren't bad for the heart either! Quite the contrary, I love some (okay a lot) Dameron swoon!!! lol. Thank you for this beautiful read, my friend!

CW: Not really any. This is a sweet/closed door romance.

Loved this!!! I have had Sign Me Up sitting on my ereader, waiting patiently to be read, for awhile now. I'm so glad to have finally read it, because this story made me so happy!

Of course, to the reader, it is very clear that Parker wants to be more than friends. But to Jamie...that girl is wildly attracted to her bestie, Parker, but scared to admit it due to a "high school best friend to more" relationship that crashed and burned years earlier.

I loved the ways Parker and Jamie were there for each other. The fact that Jamie began learning sign language as soon as Parker was hired, in order to be able to communicate with him, spoke volumes about the kind of person she was. And their friendship was so sweet! But their brewing romance was even more special.

The connection between these two made me so happy and I loved watching them both become braver in order to step out and take a chance on love together. I was all ready to look for the next book in the series, when I realized that it is not actually out yet. I'm looking forward to more books about the Kent brothers and will be reading other books by this author in the meantime!

So, I had to go back and read the first book in the Kissing a Kent Brother series, since I had already read the second one. They are better read in order, but can be read as stand alone novels. I am looking forward to reading the third book when it comes out.

Jamie and Parker have been best friends since he started working at the paper. Now, things seem different, and Jamie is trying to figure out why.

Read for:

🏢best friends to more

🏢mutual pining

🏢deaf representation

🏢"pinky"

🏢annoying co-workers

🏢 the Office vibes

🏢witty banter

🏢Parker is so sweet

This was another fun read by Dulcie Dameron.

Parker and Jamie’s he falls first, slow-burn, friends-to-lovers, workplace romance was such a sweet and fun read!

Things I Loved:
-Jamie learning ASL
-Clark Kent/Superman nickname and “act”
-Shania Twain references
-Workplace camaraderie fails
-Just Gladys 😂
-Helping Jamie through her anxiety
-Falling asleep and the temple kiss
-Prue! (Easter eggs from River Hollow)
-Caring for each other while sick
-Men’s Health magazine 😂
-The couple costume
-THAT KISS 😍
-Pops ♥️
-The END #swoon

And I absolutely love the fact that the MMC was deaf. I have read hundreds of romcoms and sweet romances, even others with varying abilities and chronic illnesses represented, but not one has had any deaf representation. I think she did great with it, along with anxiety rep and a healthy take on therapy, all while keeping some light faith elements, adding depth without getting too heavy. I can’t wait to see more of Parker, his family, Jamie, and their friends in the future! Daria and Dane already have me way intrigued!

Sweet story!

I really enjoyed reading Parker and Jamie’s story!! Loved how Parker doted on Jamie and how close they were as friends. It takes courage to cross that line between besties to something more. I also enjoyed getting acquainted with the other characters in their lives. Looking forward to the next book!

Sign me up is so cute. I instantly fell in love with the characters. I was wrapped up in their story from the very beginning.

I loved the characters so much. They each had their own unique personalities which should come into play in the other books of the series. I really can't wait for them to have their own books. I found them all to be so loveable.

While the story was cute and went about how you would expect, some deeper topics were mentioned, such as grief and anxiety. These were all managed in such a way that the book still remained lighthearted and never got too serious. It is a Rom-com and had some hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud.

I really can't wait for the next book in the series. This one had all the Rom-com vibes I have been wanting lately, which has really made me want to check out other books from this author.

I read an ARC of this book for free, and I voluntarily left this honest review.

Fabulous and love the representation!

Holy Guacamole batman! This book was epically awesome!

From the first chapters you're sucked in by the witty and sassy Jamie. Then you get a glimpse into Parker's head and you fall head over heals for the cinnamon roll that he is.

This romance had all the funny moments you expect from a RomCom but also some great and amazing emotional moments as characters deal with real emotions and the struggles of life.

I love the importance of family in this book. The importance of loving people despite their differences and flaws.

The fact that Parker is deaf was an awesome edition and it really leveled up this story. It made me think in so many different ways that I hadn't before about the deaf community.

Ohhhh man the romance. Have I talked about how downright SWOONY the romance is?! Sooo good!

This friends to lovers was epically well done and the resolution had me in TEARS! Not just the romance resolution but the healing for so many characters had me crying and just so in love with this story. Fabulously amazing.
