His methodology isn't new but he definitely explains it in a way that is easier to understand than most trainers. My friend is a horse whisperer and I've seen him use these exact same techniques, with his own ideas of how things should go and why. Clinton's explanations and simple to understand instructions really helped me to understand the importance of their use.

This was a really interesting read. I realized the importance of training a horse to be respectful of us and our space; these are heavy animals and need to learn to be careful of us. It also talked a lot about learning to be the leader that the horse is looking for in you, and how important groundwork is.

Totally work reading, I have this book on me at all times, and working through the exercises with my green horse now! I love how you not only are told the exercises, but you also get to hear the experiences of two horse owners as well!

I totally thought I reviewed this!! Whoops, anyway
Clinton has been a part of my horse training journey since I was a kid and my father started watching RFDTV. He's an amazing horse trainer and I was looking for a book to some up some of the basics for both my western and English riders, and boy is this book it!
It breaks down all his ground training steps, and riding exercises! A great reference book to have on every trainers shelf!

I love how Mr. Anderson just breaks things down in this book. And he doesn't ignore the "what ifs" that you'll likely encounter along the way using the exercises listed. These are really great to restore connection between you and your horse (and confidence as a handler), and I use them regularly just as a "Hello, time to work," warm up with the horses.

Provides basic groundwork and under-saddle exercises. The text is fairly through and the pictures are pretty good. I also like that the exercises built off each other. I am sure I will continue to refer to this book in the future as my horse training goes forward.

Have started this program with both horses and it's working well. The difference in both horses attitudes is amazing.
