Asterius I can’t allow my mating frenzy to destroy my tiny human mate. My ship malfunctioned in an unknown sector of a distant galaxy. Now I’m stranded on a primitive planet, desperately hiding from the native inhabitants who must not learn of my existence. As soon as I hear the enchanting voice of the human female, I know she’s mine. Her scent calls to me, rich and intoxicating, promising bliss between her thighs. Yet my huge alien features would terrify her. And my bulky body is far too big for her species. Giving in to the mating frenzy could spell disaster.
Ami Wright is a romance author who loves history, food, travel, trashy TV and smutty books. She loves writing science fiction romance with time travelling Romans, feisty cat people and plenty of spice!
Ami lives in Australia with her partner and two kids. If she ever gets any spare time between working, writing and mothering, she reads, cooks, watches history documentaries and dreams of the days when international travel becomes a reality again!
Plot rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love sweet MMCs, and Asterius just excelled in the sweetness chart.
The book starts with Ariadne getting arranged to marry a Greek prince by her father. But before she gets married she meets our sweet Asterius. Asterius and his crew crash-landed on Earth and he gets injured and finds his merry way to Ariadne's cellar.
The book is the definition of cuteness. Asterius is caring, sweet, careful, protective and possessive. Ariadne is a strong, stubborn FMC with her own set of values. She knows what she deserves and gets it. She is not ashamed of her body and does not back down any challenge.
She chases after Aesterius and makes him see that no matter how big he is it will fit🤣.
Readers that love sweet MMCs and fierce FMC and Alien monster smut should read this.
Spice rating 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The spice scenes in this book were more than hot. Asterius was worried about hurting Ariadne because of his size and mating frenzy. But, Ariadne made sure he did lose his control. The spice scenes were detailed and hot enough to make you squirm.

Asterius and Silenus are the prequel and first installment in the Ancient Myths and Monsters series. Both books were highly entertaining and I loved the setting in 1st Century Europe! Blurbs below! I give these both ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! … Asterius (Book 0.5):
I can’t allow my mating frenzy to destroy my tiny human mate. … Silenus (Book 1):
Silenus: I’m not supposed to be on Earth. I’m a scientist working on a tenuous research grant. I’m not even supposed to make contact. I’m certainly not supposed to fall tail over horns for the tiny human female who rescues me during a storm. We can’t be together. Not with the way Saetah males are built… Yet when I’m near her, I’m blind to everything but my desire for her. It could cost everything: the mission, my career, my freedom and hers. I still must have her. How do I find a way to keep her?
Arria: Life as a widow and single mother is hard, but I love my family and my small farm. Then a mysterious stranger appears in the midst of a terrible storm on a night I’ll never forget. He must be a god or a monster. His features are so strange and unearthly: long ears, horns, hooves and tail and a muscled physique the poets only dream about. Though the myths certainly never described pleasure like what we share! It’s impossible, but I wish he could take me to the stars with him! … I loved the mix of ancient and futuristic things in these books! I’ve never read an alien series where they show up in that timeframe and it’s amazing! The contrast of how the women live day to day in the 1st century compared to the men’s tech is so cool! They were sent to earth to observe humans and accidentally ended up planet side among them… whoops! What a huge culture shock for the ladies!
I also liked how the women weren’t necessarily scared of the aliens, as they resembled gods that they worship. The men are so protective of the women. When their fated mate bond kicks in they do whatever it takes to keep their women safe and with them. I’m such a sucker for the fated mates trope, especially when the guys are confused at first because “they’re human, they can’t be the one!”

Until a deep, rumbling voice from behind me says, “Do not cry little one. I cannot bear the scent of your sadness.”
Ariadne is promised to Jason. And then she meets Asterius, a minotorr who has crashed on earth.
The amount of screaming, squealing, and general fangirling I did with this hot little book in my hands. This is a short, and I feel the same way about this short as I do about most other shorts that I rate: I. WANT. MORE. Not only that but there’s a blend of mythology, history, and sci-fi here that make me want to leap into this world and stay there. I finished this book almost a week ago and this is the day when I can finally make a comprehensible review that’s not just screaming and fangirl flailing and me rolling around like a happy little book dragon that’s just found a new hoard.
MFers (referenced above, you know who you are) are probably going to find this monster-light which makes this a great tale to ease someone into either alien romance or before yeeting them into the deeper end of the monster pool. If you like Greco-Roman mythology, and you love retellings, here you are. I squealed like a stuck pig when I realized the FMC’s name up against a minotaur!!! OY, I was TOASTED.
🖤 “Take me, consume me, I’m yours.” ~~~ I loved Ariadne! She’s such a wonderful woman! She’s kind, brave, compassionate and feisty. But her father - king Minos - has sold her to the monster of Athens, the cruel Prince Theseus, and now her future seems so bleak. Luckily, fate has different plans for the Princess of Crete.
Asterius is a minotorr. He’s one huge, strong and fiercely protective male. Even more, I loved how honorable, thoughtful and responsible he is. He might be gruff on the outside, but he has a heart of gold. And I adored everything about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Ariadne and Asterius! When Asterius' ship is attacked by outlaws, he and his crew crashland on ancient Earth. And the last thing he expects when he’s in hiding and trying to heal his wounds is to meet his fated mate. From the moment those two met, their attraction was strong. They’re from such different worlds and, yet, fit so perfectly together. Although Asterius tried to fight the mating frenzy to protect Ariadne, the princess was not easily scared or unsettled by his appearance. And when they couldn’t resist the undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments they shared were so hot and I couldn’t get enough! Ariadne and Asterius have a lot to deal with, but together they can overcome any obstacles and find the happiness and love they both deserve.
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! The mix of myths and sci-fi was absolutely spectacular and I was glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, the story is a fantastic short read filled with action, passion, drama, danger and suspense and an awesome teaser for the upcoming series.
I absolutely adore alien romance novels that explore the depths of human resilience when faced with extraordinary circumstances. In the case of "Asterius and Ariadne," I was captivated by Asterius' inner struggle as he initially doubted whether Princess Ariadne could handle the enormity of his unique and blessed gift. The tension built as Asterius feared the consequences of an unfulfilled mating frenzy, believing it could lead to his demise. However, when Ariadne fearlessly embraced all of Asterius and yearned for more, a glimmer of hope enveloped him. Finally, he could envisage a lifetime with her, free from stolen moments.
Having grown up witnessing the gradual decline of her mother, who had withered under the oppressive marriage to a tyrant, Ariadne understood the detrimental effects of such a union. When presented with an opportunity to escape that life, Ariadne seized it eagerly, just as she embraced the chance to be with Asterius, who offered her safety and protection.
The journey of Asterius and Ariadne was far from easy, filled with trials and tribulations. But when they finally united, I was moved by the vulnerability of this towering man, trembling under Ariadne's tender touch. And as for Asterius himself, he could no longer deny his true nature—a savage beast, fiercely devoted to protecting his beloved mate.
Overall, "Asterius and Ariadne" is a passionate and gripping alien romance that delves into themes of resilience, escape from oppressive environments, and the unyielding determination to safeguard those we love. This book tugs at the heartstrings, reminding us of the extraordinary power of love and the lengths we are willing to go to protect our cherished partners.
Ariadne, the female human lead, is a princess whose father has just sold her to a sadistic prince to ally his country with another in ancient times. Desperate to hide her despair, Ariadne runs to the cellar, where she encounters Asterius, the male alien minotaur lead.
Asterius is on Earth because his spaceship crashed. He's injured and his solar powered healing device is nearly out of charge. He seeks Ariadne because of her cries and then asks for her help. Then he realises she's his fated mate. But aliens aren't supposed to engage with humans because humans don't know about them. Now Asterius needs to work out how to manage his mating fever, Ariadne's unwanted betrothal, and his obligations...
This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a great beginning to a new erotic romance series. I enjoyed Asterius' sense of responsibility and his attempts to balance everything he needed to care for. I enjoyed Ariadne's compassion and her care for the literal alien in her midst. I enjoyed their erotic intimate scenes and Asterius' bid for self control to keep Ariadne safe. I enjoyed the premise and am looking forward to more.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
ohhhh boy, was this pretty satisfying to read. The mix of sci-fi and fantasy lore is great! it's a short story but worth it. The story uses dual POVs, so you can get to know all those little bits of thought and perspectives.
We have Asterius, who is an alien that looks like a is a minotaur. If you know minotaur lore, you know how they are. Other than being a huge muscleman and protector, he is considerate and responsible. The classic rough and scary looking LI with a sweet interior.
Then we have our FL: Ariadne, a human princess. She's feisty but still kind. As a princess, she gets sold out to another kingdom (kinda). Her intended is a cruel Prince but, like a classic fantasy, someone swoops in to help. The how, is up for you to find out!
A story revolving finding a "Fated Mate" and one of the protagonists trying to fight that pull. But of course, they are fated! so no can do. Once they give in, their time together is good and makes you want more of it!. In short, this is a story of true love, team work, and conquering :)
This is a shorter book but it is lovely. These two are just magic together. Asterius is not from this world and thank heavens for that. He has none of the horrible viewpoints or ideas of the males that Ariadne's world has been fillen with. He may appear to be a brutal monster and yet he nothing like that. He is protective, kind, compassionate and honourable. Meeting him has proven that there is hope of a happier life for her. Ariadne is at the mercy of her scheming father. He has used her as a bargaining chip with Prince Theseus and she is painfully aware of the future she will have with him. Could finding a wounded alien be her escape?
“I never dreamed an even greater temptation was about to be served up to me.”
Short and sweet, this prequel certainly got my attention. I’m not really a fan of monster style romances but I love Ami so I thought, what the heck. What I discovered is that Asterius is adorable. I just loved him to bits. Ariadne is so strong and brave, a perfect mate for this lost male. Their story was quick but with less than ninety pages it had to be. Fortunately based on the end, I predict we will see them again, often, in future books and I’m thrilled. Even though they got their hea, I love the idea of catching up as the series continues.
I love myth retellings and the fact that this was a retelling, but with a sci-fi element was just *chefs kiss* for me!
Asterius is a novella of Ariadne and the Minotaur in a myth retelling of their story, with a lot of pleasure positivity, hurt/comfort and fated mates elements to it. This explores her side of the story when she is unfortunately told she will marry Prince Theseus, but finds her alien Minotaur instead. It is the beginning of a new series/world and I can't wait to read more from it!
I was provided an advanced copy of this story, all opinions are my own.
Ami Wright is a new Author for me and I was thrilled... thrilled to find Asterius: Alien Minotaur part of her new Ancient Myths & Monsters Series. This is a perfect blend of sci-fi, ancient historical references, myths, girthy (...and I do mean *girthy* 🥵) Minotaurs, possessive & caring mates and sörchïng sëx! I can definitely say I am SO jealous of Ariadne!! 😏🔥😏 Asterius is the Minotaur I never knew I needed in my life...does he have a Brother? Cousin? Friend?🤞🏿🤞🏾🤞🏽🤞🏼🤞🏻 Looking forward to the next book in this Series!
I loved this book! It's a pretty short read (1-2 hours), but very fun! I think it's the beginning to a series of interconnected standalones: I can't wait to read more! Asterius is so sweet and protective! I love how he would go into a frenzy when she was threatened... And Ariadne is very open-minded and brave! They're just perfect for each other. The plot was great, and the spice 🥵🥵🥵! I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good alien romance.
I like Aliens AND Minotaurs, so why not read about them together!
There was a lot packed in 87 pages! And that’s a good thing! I found myself sucked in to the story quickly and rooting for Ariadne to be with her fated mate. The spicy scenes are definitely 🌶️ I also like how the author left the ending open to the possibility of expanding the story and bringing in more characters. I look forward to reading the next book from this author.
A lovely beginning of a series with alpha Minotaurs. Ariadne is the kings daughter and slated to wed a sadistic prince for political gain. Deep in the cellar of the castle while looking for wool she meets an injured warrior and the story begins. I enjoyed this tale…creative plot and solid characters but I wished it had not ended. Good evening reading❤️❤️❤️
Spicy yet sweet retelling of a Ariadne and minotaur's ancient myth. As I really love Greek mythology and raunchy romance this was a perfect little read! Asterius is kind, Ariadne is spunky and they have a great chemistry between them. Relatively low angst as well, which is important to me, as I read to lift my mood. Ami Wright delivers yet again :)
A beauty and the beast retelling but the beast isn't Asterious. He's the hero. That's the twist. One of many. How could a father change so much to actually sell his daughter to a beast? Greed. The characters are described in deep detail and the locations are well filled out. Short, sweet and steamy. I truly hope our author will revisit this couple. They have so much more to tell us.
Whew!! What a spicy story! I'm a huge fan of mythology so I LOVED Ami Wright's spin on it! Great characters with Instalove! There's an arranged marriage with a horrible fiance, forbidden fated mates, a FMC who's strong willed and an MMC who will stop at nothing to protect his love. I can't wait for more from this rich world that Ami Wright has created!
What a great story, its well written with plenty of action and the characters are amazing. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Ariadne and Asterius A reteling of the myth of the Minotaur but with a very Nice alien twist. Its very interesting and it fits perfectly. Very good novela and it leaves us wanting more myth vs alien retelings!
Asterius is an enjoyable book. I love that Ariadne is a strong heroine; like the references to Crete mythology; and it rocked that Asterius is a strong protective hero with horns! Gotta love a hero with horns!
This is a fun-to-read sci-fi/minotaur romance.. I liked it. So cool for Asterius to stop over in ancient Earth and meet a girl. Perhaps the ultimate forbidden romance..
