This has got to be the most frustrating series ever for someone like me who likes romance, Lucinda and Michel are finally happy or they were at the end of the previous book and I was finally looking forward to a book where they're together, happy and working as one, no secrets, no lies.....
Well a girl can hope.
This is not the case, it starts where Michel has virtually moved out and is living at Sensations, Lucinda is understandably hurt and suffering because she's no idea at all what's going on.
Now I'm a huge fan of Michel but even I couldn't understand what on earth was going through his head.
Lucinda has annoyed me through most of these books, we came to an understanding in the last one but she's back, she's not as bad but about half way in she says:
'When would I learn? How f**king stupid can I be?'
I've been asking myself the same thing and it's a shame because this is a good entertaining read, the repetition is still annoying me and there's a sense of deja vu every time she comes across something she can't handle, something too dark, too strong etc I find myself saying 'use your light' time and time again but she never learns.
There's some new characters in this and Lutin I found hilarious, I don't know if he's supposed to be funny but he made me laugh repeatedly.
Despite the above this is entertaining and I can't wait to start the next book 'Shadow's Light'

I had the pleasure of an advanced copy of the book by the author.
There are a lot of PNR books out there.Some have a very romantic or erotic tendency, others are heavier on the action or the story line, but sometimes you find a book , an author , a series , that has it all,that pulls you in and doesn't let you go.
One of these books , a series called " Kindred" is written by the new author Nicola Claire, who I utterly adore.
Book 5 - Dancing Dragon- continues where book 4 stopped , just a few weeks later. I won't go into any details, which would only take away of everybody's pleasure of reading this book, but I am compelled to share my feelings this book evoked in me.
It is a roller coaster of emotions, not only for the main characters Lucinda and Michel, but also for the reader , who followed their lives through the previous books. Nothing is how it first appears, no handbook to follow how their lives will enfold, but a sure grip of the reader is guaranteed.
This book keeps you captivated from the first page on , has you smiling, makes you angry, gives you an all fuzzy feeling and last but not least, fills you up with big crocodile tears.
New characters appear, who only add to the ongoing story, not take away from it.In contrary, these new characters give the book a new twist and angle.
It does end with an very unexpected situation, but this is a good author to you. Nothing predictable - only keeping you on your toes and hoping that the next book will appear rather sooner than later.
I can highly recommend this book.

Rating: 5 Stars and then some!
Well, I thought the last book in this series was brilliant and then I read this one. Book five in the Kindred Series by Nicola Claire has it all. Adventure, pace, excitement, heart break (oh man yes!) and romance. Although slightly longer than previous instalments in this series, I read it in record time, simply because I could not put it down. For most of the book I was on the edge of my seat and for the rest I was stunned. There is a cliffhanger, one I can't get out of my head, which only makes me long for book six. Please, Ms. Claire, put us out of our misery!

Would hate it
I would hate this books ending if I didn't know how it all ended and I truthfully wouldn't blame anyone that chose to give up on the series with that ending. For an author who has such a wonderful writing ability, she makes some of the most stupid writing decisions. How to make her characters act completely out of the character she created. They do really stupid things repeatedly. She keeps creAting scenarios that her readers by and large abhor. It's these decisions that prevent her from being a top tier author. The best thing she could do is get herself a good editor and take their advice.

Ms Claire did it once more. Awesome as usual. I find that Alastair's death is too easy for him. How i wish he suffer before he met his end. Less fight scenes in this book. Romance element compensate for it. I am glad that their love can further evolved into something greater and more permanent. If the love is permanent...sniff sniff....but i'm having faith. Now, off to the next book. Ever grateful that the price for her ebooks are always kept at such an affordable price. hearts!

I knew I didn't want to keep reading and just end with the last book on a happy note. Gosh, so many tears and I had to re-read the last chapter just to make sure what I thought happened did, and more tears. Now do I want to continue reading to see how to deal with the heartache....somehow, there has to be way...I hope.

Oh how I love this series. The action and emotion are intense, as anything involving vampires should be. Lucinda is a strong character, but at the end if this book, one must wonder if her strength will cause her to break rather than bend. This is one series that I am glad to tell others about.

I am upset around 12 or more persons died by Michel's creator hand. And Lucinda did ntn or better yet could do nothing to stop it.
Lutin is a selfish and egotistical fey that reeked havoc on Luce's world.
I cried because what occurred really happen and they did not allowed Lucinda to end it how she wanted.

If you can get past the minor errors and language translation, it’s amazing. I’ve read and re-read this series numerous times.
Lucinda comes face to face with the vampire within Michel. Will she be able to still hold the dark as the prophecy says?

Holy crap!!! I can't believe that Michael is dead. I'm sure he will come back somehow but man was that an awful end to this story. I'm glad there is more.

This picks up some weeks later after Lucinda has given her all to Michel and given him her mark. You would think after that, things would get better between then. Not so… We find that things have changed between the two of them, to the fact that Michel has even moved out. And Lucinda can’t understand why he has pulled away from her the way he has. So she reaches out to the one person that she can truly trust and someone that she can confine in. No other person than Anise. She helps Lucinda out on what she needs to do in order to get her kindred back. And oh boy, it works.
But we get to see and understand the whole reason why Michel has pulled back from not only Lucinda but also his line. And that challenge was amazing! I love how Nicole just creates these scenes and it seems like you are right there in the midst experiencing everything. I’m also really enjoying how Michel and Lucinda’s relationship is growing. Even thought Michel is going through some dark patches, Lucinda still seems to get through to him and continue to bring light.
We get introduced to Lutin who is supposed to be the prince Light Fey and he claims that Lucinda is his. I am so tired of every guy she comes in contact with; they are saying that she belongs to them. I hate love triangles and I hope this is one that will not flourish. And Michel is also getting tired of everyone trying to take his kindred from him. He even expresses that much to Lucinda.
And then there is Avery. I don’t know about this guy. It’s so many questions that I have unanswered about him. He seems to have his own agenda. And I’m afraid that with this ending, we are not going to know until the next installment. And with that ending, I’m hoping that Nicole has some change of events. We need some Michel D. in our life. And that’s all I’m going to say on that!

A bit frustrating...
A bit frustrating...
Although this book frustrates me to no end. I still loved it. Some of it is good frustration. The kind that gets you involved in the book and the events that take place. Then there is the bad frustration when I can't understand what happened to all of Lucinda's growth from the last book? At some points it's as if she has learned nothing and has to suffer the consequences all over again. Thankfully new characters and situations are introduced that take away some of the frustration. I am also not thrilled that someone wants Lucinda in each book. Even though she is presented to the reader in all 5 books as a strong sassy heroine, she is presented as a damsel in distress as well. When she really needs to be strong, she is weak. When she can take a step back, she won't. Again, what has she learned from previous situations?
However, somehow the book is still very good. I accidentally read a huge spoiler but still enjoyed the journey. I hope I get to see some actual growth that can be applied in the next book. I recommend to adult paranormal romantic adventure lovers, but you must start with the first book.

I'm not going to lie. I am extremely pissed and annoyed. As soon as Lutan mentioned that one piece of information in the beginning of the book, I knew he would make it so. The worst possible thing that could have happened has happened and I am reeling from it. As Lucinda would say "fucking Fey!" A part of me wants to run from this series now. I don't think I have it in me to read a book that doesn't have Michel in it. He had become my sole purpose for enjoying the series.
The book as whole was intriguing, eventful, and full of multiple emotions. As much as I severely hate where this book ended and not sure about caring where it continues to go, I will still follow through. Despite my annoyance, this has made for a good story. I can't deny that. Twists and turns like crazy following Lucinda. I can only hope and pray that some how, something, will make me feel better about where this series has turned. :-/

Dancing Dragon begins with a whole lot of problems between Lucinda and Michel. Like problems so big there may no be turning back. Michel is turning to the "Dark" and Lucinda is having issues bringing him back. Add this into the fact that there is a new big bad vampire in London who is killing innocents, and you have a whole world of trouble.
This book was okay. I must say I hated the way Lucinda and Michel treated each other in this book. It was utterly devastating, and horrid. I just couldn't believe it. Then to top it off the ending was crazy as all get out. I was in tears in the end. I'm looking forward to the next one, but this one was disappointing, even if it left me angry, and excited all at once.

Agh!!!
Why oh why would Ms. Claire play with my emotions as she did in this book. So much love and sadness was told in this book. One minute my heart is filled to the brim with happiness and then the next my heart is breaking. On another note, some have complained about how Michael and Lucinda treated each other in the beginning of the book. Yet, it was an important part of the story. It revealed that Lucinda had forgotten that Michael was a vampire and that bed has darkness that can overtake him, and he needs her light. They struggle but as most relationships, some things need to come to a head to grow stronger. This book was intense and although I do not like what had transpired at the end, (it really broke my heart), I truly enjoyed the book.

I cant get enough of this series! The chemistry between Michel and Luce is riveting! Each book is just as exciting as the first. Thank you Nicola Claire for a awesome series i look forward to reading your other books also !

Omg just when you think life for Lucinda is settling down!! Oh no, she ends up fighting for Michel, battling lots of nasties in London, being influenced by Fey Magic by a Prince!! We even get to meet Michel's vampire in this, but the ending..... Nooo!!! Next book needs reading like yesterday!! Love this series.

Not my favorite
How much drama does Luce have to go through with Michel before he stops acting insecure? It amuses me to see so many supernaturals all chasing after the same gal. Power breeds many monsters in this series. This couple can’t go to HEA because duty overrides complacency.

The reason I gave this book a 3 star is the fact that I am reading a series in order, and the repetition is mind numbing. The author doesn't just repeat the same information once but many times. Also, there are many spelling errors and words left out of sentences. I do really enjoy the story line and characters of this series but wish the repetition was not so bad.

Another page turner for Nicola Claire!! I have been so mesmerized by all the books in this series so far and absolutely can't hardly wait to read the next. This one left you with quite the ending so lots to look forward to in the next.
Another page turner for Nicola Claire!! I have been so mesmerized by all the books in this series so far and absolutely can't hardly wait to read the next. This one left you with quite the ending so lots to look forward to in the next.

the ending makes no sense...and I hate unhappy endings. hope next book has a happier ending.
