A fun and wacky look at the one thing in life we can't escape! These true tales and twisted trivia about death cover serial killers, vampires, and ghosts. Facts you wouldn't know, and death tales you shouldn't know make for an eerie read that may keep you up at night!
"Erica Orloff is a native New Yorker, novelist, blogger, mother of four, chronic insomniac, alt-rock loving, voracious reader (and prolific writer) who has written over twenty novels across a number of genres and pen names. She currently lives in Virginia where she rarely sleeps, roots for the Yankees and the NY Giants, knits in her almost-never free time, herds worms with her six-year-old Pirate Boy, and tries to hold onto what little sanity she has left." I enjoyed the authors' snarky, irreverent tone. ("Aztec society, known for its human sacrifices, made distinctions of which direction you traveled after death depending on how you died. Human sacrifices went east to paradise and got to enjoy the sun. Seems a high price to pay for a tan.") But that doesn't change the fact that the book was very sloppily researched and contains dozens of inaccuracies.
I'be had this book for ages and just not got around to reading it. I highly recommend it. Its full of interesting and sometimes hillarious facts and trivia. A great read especially for this time of year.
This book gave quite an interesting outlook on death and dying through the ages. It includes stories of strange deaths and near-deaths, and includes last quotes of the dying famous. A strong stomach is needed to read this, though, because it also details the way a body decomposes after death. Ick!
