The path of perfection: The spiritual teachings of Master Nur Ali

Rate this book
In his latest work, Prof. Bahram Elahi, M.D. presents a terse summary of the innovative and universal approach to spirituality founded by his father, Ostad Elahi (1895-1974). Presented as a handbook of what he has termed "natural spirituality." Prof. Elahi sets forth in astonishingly simple and straightforward language answers to such perennial questions as:

• What is the meaning of life?
• What constitutes an individual's true identity?
• Where do we go after we leave this world?
• What is the structural make-up of our spiritual personality?
• What is the role of free will and determinism in our daily lives?

In addressing the specific questions and needs of human beings in the 21st century, Prof. Elahi lays out a concise roadmap that shows us how to achieve psychobiological spiritual perfection step-by-step by seamlessly integrating the practice of natural spirituality into our daily lives. Already translated into five languages, The Path of Perfection empowers us to obtain tangible results that will continuously encourage and motivate us as we advance along our intriguing journey of self-knowledge and discovery.

I read this in Greek translation from French. Bahram Elahi is an Iranian follower of the mystic tradition of Ahl-e Haqq (اهل حق), which is a spiritual path that could be said to be related to mystic Shia Islam. They believe in reincarnation, Prophets of all authentic Religions, etc.
What impressed me is the clarity, simplicity and deep knowledge of the author. He clearly knows how to tell between authentic and false Spiritual Teachers, since a true Teacher always encourages deep love towards God and Humanity, and not simply "spiritual" experiences that foster the Ego and are, therefore, spiritual drugs.
The book represents authentic spiritual streams from a very ancient and sacred part of our world.

Frankly, this is not an authentic treatise on Irfan nor Ahl-e-Haqq spirituality. It is really just Bahram Elahi's own views on spirituality as he has understood it from modern psychology. The book is littered with Freudian terms and most of the work is just a simplistic understanding of human cosmology. I was excited to start reading it and was quickly dissapointed.
