A favourite book from my childhood, this book contains two stories in rhyme: "In the Land of Sniggl-de-Bloop" and "On the Island of Polly-ga-Dew."
In Sniggle-de-Bloop the strange and myraid creatures all love to eat soup. When a travelling salesman sells a quantity of spices and seasonings to a Sniggl-de-creep and a Sniggl-de-sneep chaos ensues. Polly-ga-Dew is a deserted island where a shipwrecked professor finds himself stranded and in search of students to teach.
Both have a compelling rhyme and are absurd: positive traits for children's poetry.
