Take a Chance is the twenty-forth installation in the Forbidden Temptations series by Sofia T. Summer. It's a full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a happily-ever-after. The story was beautifully written with well developed characters and great storyline that captures your attention from start and keeps you hooked and turning the pages until the end. This is Blake and Emma story. An age gap trope story, opposite attracts romance, insta-lust, second chance romance, secret pregnancy romance, forbidden relationship, employer/employee relationship, taboo, mafia romance, filled with secrets, deception, heartbreak, suspense, mystery, survival, surprises, revelation, surprise, lust, lies, passion, love, light on the mafia world, danger, and the violence.
Mafia princess Amelia Bonetti a.k.a. Emma Clark is on the run and in hiding from her father the mob boss. She became recently unemployed due to budget cuts from the school. She's crashing on the sofa bed of her best friend Allegra until she finds another job. The girls decided to to go to night club up street from Allegra one Friday. They meet a guy at bar who to offered to buy them drinks and seat in the VIP section. Allegra had her drink but abandon Emma at bar and left with the sexy stranger who bought them the drinks. While sitting there having her drink a handsome stranger approached her and sat in seat beside her, he was the friend of the guy who bought them the drinks.
Emma has have not dated or been attracted to to anyone since her fiance Louie died and first time she's drawn to this stranger. He gave her biggest "O" under the table using his fingers, but the sudden buzzing for her phone interpreted the mood. She finished her drinks in one gulped and told stranger that she had to go leaving him all aroused and flustered running out the room. Emma could not get the experience out of her mind or the guy and find her mind going back to the incident all weekend. Both of them can't stop thinking and fantasizing about each other. Emma is desperate to find another job and get off her friend sofa-bed and apply for live in nanny position.
Blake Emmerson is a Wall Street investor, he's looking for a live in nanny for his five year old daughter Katelyn. Blake is handsome, wealthy and CEO of his company.

Life was looking good and she felt like she could finally relax but her old life was about collide with her new one and cause some problems. But Blake was not about to make anything happen to her or make anyone take her from him. He will move heaven and earth to keep three of them together. Will they get their HEA? Moments after they arrive, a man buys them drinks and invites them to one of the VIP rooms. Allegra goes off with the man who bought the drinks leaving Emma with his tall, dark and handsome friend. He is the first guy Emma has been attracted to since her fiancé Louie died. He gives her an amazing orgasm with his fingers but then her phones buzzes. She feels guilty, finishes her drink in one gulp and runs out of the room.

On Monday, Emma has an interview with Blake Emmerson to be the live in nanny for his 5 year old daughter Katelyn. His office in on Wall Street. He is the CEO of the company so he is rich and powerful. Imagine Emma’s surprise when Blake turns around and he is her mystery man from Saturday night.
Blake is equally surprised to see Emma. He hires her because she is the most qualified candidate but is happy because he wants to keep Emma for himself.

Will Blake be able to make Emma his? How does Emma know Greta, Blake’s housekeeper? What happens when Blake finds out who Emma really is? What is Blake hiding about his past?

I loved how this story kept me on the edge of my seat while all the secrets were revealed.

Their Fate-filled Journey To A Forever Family -
Emma was still weary of getting involved with any man when she met Blake, but she was shaken the next time they met and she discovered he would be her new boss and that she would be sharing the house with someone from the past she had run from. The attraction between her boss and herself grew exponentially as they continued spending time together, led them to embark on a sexual relationship.

Unfortunately, the life Emma’s left behind caught up with her and encroached on their happiness. However, her resolve to keep her past a secret, put her her life danger and nearly caused her to lose her life. Luckily, she was able to find a way out and return to Blake. Revealing the secrets of both their pasts, allowed them to work together effectively and remove the threat to their happiness permanently, so the6 could return to their journey towards a forever happiness.

This was a truly intense and interesting story, filled with angst, suspense, drama and steamy moments that you will really enjoy reading about. The storyline showed how the characters had to endure heartache and fear, but eventually found out that truth, trust and love wins in the end. It was a worthwhile read, that I am happy to recommend.

I enjoyed small parts of this book but overall I just know I wouldn't read this again and I truly didn't see the appeal. I think there were many important parts that were rolled over and not talked about enough. For example, after she got hurt. It was as if she was dripping blood at one part yet at the same time wasn't which honestly confused me since once he asked if she was okay they dove right back into each other in the car. Literally.

I felt as though it was written around smut scenes and the story line was the subplot. I think it was overall kill and exhausting reading those and at some parts I just started skimming over it to get back to the plot.

At the interview they have met before and she left in the middle which got him thinking about her a lot. Yet she surprises him since she was the nanny that qualified not only for his daughters needs but for his needs too.

Very possessive in some spots where I just had to cringe. The smut scenes were definitely cringe too since she said the same things over and over again but so did he.

I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over since the smut scenes were almost the entire book and they were generally the same just in different places and different "lessons" as they called them.

When you start this story, you have no idea where it's headed. Is Emma just a good girl taking on a new job? She seems like the sweet type who just wants to live her life in peace. But she meets Blake in a club and the two are infatuated with each other. Will she stick around and let him have his way with her? She freaks out and leaves him at the club, frustrated.

Then the real story happens. Blake needs a new nanny. When Emma walks into his office for the job, a giant smile takes over his face. Now he has the woman from the club he wanted so much. Hire her and he can make his wish come true.

The mafia part of this story will make your heart break. Emma is hiding from her mafia father. Why? Because he thinks she worked with her late boyfriend to kill him. Her father is awful. No wonder she wanted away from him. Blake will do everything he can to get her away from her father.

This story was so fast-paced. It has you loving Blake and Emma and his daughter Katelyn as a family. I love Sofia Summers and the way she writes these Age-Gap romances. A great addition to this series!.

HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR THE ONE YOU LOVE?

Can you imagine meeting a stranger in a bar, having a hot make out session, leaving without exchanging names or numbers, then you go to a job interview a few days later and he's the one who is doing the hiring? That's what happens with Emma and Blake and things only get better and hotter from there until Emma's secret past causes trouble.

I will be honest, at first when I saw that one of the tropes was mafia, I almost didn't read it as I usually don't like mafia stories. But I hadn't read a book from Ms. Summers in a few months and decided to give it a chance, and I am sure glad that I did! It's not entirely set in the mafia world, it's more of a sideline to the story, so even if you don't care for mafia, this is more about the age gap and secret pregnancy.

As always, Ms. Summers has written a cohesive story that caught my attention immediately and has some seriously hot scenes and I could not put the book down. I strongly urge you to read this or any other book she has written!.

I had high hopes for this book since it's a Mafia romance and a secret pregnancy. But it had too many steamy moments that for me detracted from the storyline instead of enhancing it.

I liked Blake and Emma but both have secrets as they enter into a relationship while she's caring for his daughter as her nanny. That's after they have an anonymous hookup while they were both at a club with a friend. Surprise! when Emma shows up to interview for the position.

There were multiple stories being told and they were woven together nicely after a fashion. There is violence, deaths, lies, secrets, injuries, family and friends along with Mafia activities. There are vivid descriptions not only of Blake's homes but also their sexual escapades and any Mafia dealings. There is a happily ever after after they resolve some issues that were not only affecting Emma but the security and safety of Blake and his family and employees. The title fits the story and there was some closure.

I rated the book 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 stars here and on other sites.

Sometimes taking a chance brings many surprises

Take A Chance is the twenty-fourth book in the Forbidden Temptations and is nanny/single dad romance with a side of mafia lite. The story is about Emma Clark, really Amelia Bonetti, a mafia princess who is hiding from her father, and Blake Emmerson, a rich Wall Street investor. Blake is a single father to five year old Katelyn and in need of a live-in nanny. Emma has been sleeping on the couch of her friend after being laid off from her last job due to budget cuts. When the ad for the live-in nanny job comes up she knows this would be a best thing at the moment to solve her most pressing issues. But there is a big surprise when Emma goes to interview with Blake, as they already know each other in an intimate way. There are other surprises in store for this couple as they bump along the way of denying their simmering attraction until outside forces finally make it impossible to do anymore.....then all bets are off and there is more than a little explosion about to go off.

Sofia has done it again another page turner that you will not want to put down.
If you like high drama, spice, age gap romance, employer /employee relationship, unexpected pregnancy, workplace romance, mafia drama, dark secrets, Nanny romance, single dad, dual pov writing and HEAs then this book is for you.

In this book we meet Emma a young teacher recently made redundant whose looking for work. After applying for a nanny job she and her friend head to the club and have a night out. Blake an alpha, billionaire successful male is at the club with his friend and ends up with Emma in his arms. However the night is cut short and the two don't exchange names let alone numbers.
Little do either of them know their about to become big parts of each others lives as Emma is going to be Blakes daughters Nanny.

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would, absolutely fantastic book.

This is a wonderful address to the Forbidden Temptations Series. In this one we find Emma struggling to stay safe from her life from her Mafia father and Blake a successful wealthy businessman needing a nanny for his young daughter, Katelyn. One night Emma is in a club with her friend and ends up meeting a mysterious older man who shows her a forbidden experience. When they meet again Emma is interviewing for the nanny position and with her qualifications she’s hired and treated to a life style she knows well but hides it. These two have a hard time being close to one another and once Blake has Emma she’s his! There are unknowns about Blake but he does hint to being someone different prior to having his daughter and he uses those strengths to ensure Emma remains his and does what is necessary to make it that way! Fantastic?
Emma & Blake's first meeting was all steamy when she met him at a club with her friend but she never expected to see him again. When she turned up for a nanny job interview they were both shocked to see each other again & in totally different curcumstances. Even though there was mega sexual chemistry between them he already knew she was the best person to be nanny for his daughter Katelyn. When Emma arrived at his house to start the job & meet Katelyn she got a terrifying shock to find somebody from the past that she had being running away from. The promise they made to keep things professional didn't last long but she had also fallen in love with the little girl who had not had the typical child's life. This story had some dark serects, deception, danger involving the mafia, steam but also quite emotional at times.
Once you start reading this you won't want to put it down.

When I read the description of Take A Chance, I was intrigued. Knowing that I was ready and waiting for Sofia's next story, I was not disappointed!

This Mafia story is different than many I have read in the past.

Emma's character is hiding from a past that hopes she will never find her.

Life seems to be at its lowest for Emma when she loses her job and has to find a new job and place to live, living with her best friend in a studio apartment.

But, in that low comes Blake. How they meet is fun and their remeeting is memorable.

Blake, a single father of a five-year-old daughter, Katelyn, is looking for a nanny for her.

His job is demanding and he needs someone who can care for her.

And from go, the attraction is very heated.

The spice level in this book is high.

As is the drama.

I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more from Sofia!

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written as always from Sophia. I loved the characters Emma and Blake were more alike than they realised. They both have hidden secrets and they come out and it makes no difference to either of them. They love each other and that’s that. The age gap was not an issue at all to Blake or Emma. Little Katelyn was a little sweetie, and she turned in to a sweet little girl like she should have always been. The one thing I was keen on was when Blake got attacked it didn’t really go over his injuries and he was stabbed. They was no treatment or after effects. Just putting a dressing on it, isn’t really cutting it lol. It just different make sense. Otherwise a great book. Highly recommend.

Emma was looking for a new job when she first met Blake in a club when she was out with a friend. They share a steamy moment and she disappeared. The next time they meet she is there for an interview to be a nanny for his child. Blake is surprised at first but goes with it because it means he gets to spend more time with her now. However, each is hiding stuff about their past and Emma's comes back for her full force and sends everything in a tailspin. Will they get a chance to be together? Can she deal with her past? Will Blake still want to be with her when he learns what she has been hiding?

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Emma finds herself in a spicy predicament with Blake, a handsome and mysterious man, one evening out at the bar. After their encounter they can’t get each other out of their minds. Blake hires a new nanny to watch his sweet little girl but little does he know that the nanny is none other than Emma. Being in such close proximity, neither of them can keep their hands to themselves. Just as things are going beautifully, Emmas past finds it’s way to haunt them.


This is not my first Sofia T. Summers book and it is definitely not my last. If you are looking for a good romance but with an amazing plot then this book is for you! I 10/10 recommend this and every other Sofia T. Summers book😊.

Take A Chance is an age gap mafia romance that follows Blake Emmerson and Emma Clarke aka Amelia Bonetti.

Emma and Blake met each other at a night club and had a brief but spicy encounter before she left abruptly. Though brief they can't stop fantasizing about each other.

Emma lost her job as a teacher and is desperate to find a new job. When she applies for a nanny job she never expected it was for the man she met the night before and his five year old daughter. The attraction they felt is undeniable and when she moves in to take care of his daughter they act on their desires.
Life was finally looking bright but her past was about to collide with their happiness.

Emma met Blake at a bar, he's a handsome and mysterious man and they enjoyed a rather heated time together after which neither of them could get the other out of their thoughts. When Emma is offered a job as a nanny to a little girl she never expected that it would be the handsome man from the bar's daughter. Blake was equally surprised to find that the new nanny for his daughter was none other than Emma.

Obviously, after their time together, the chemistry between them and being in such close proximity to each other proves difficult and neither of them can keep their hands off the other but just when it looks like things will work out just fine Emma's past comes back to haunt them. It's a good romance with a different and well-thought-out plot

Emma meets Blake at a club her best friend took her to. He was in the VIP section and the attraction was instant. Emma can’t resist him and allows things to get very heated. Then she rushes off without ever sharing their full names. Both are shocked the next day when she walks into his office as the next interview for a nanny for his daughter. He hires her on the spot. Emma has secrets from her past that are dangerous and that danger finds her. Blake also has a past that is dark and secrete. With so many secrets there are several twists the story takes and some rent cleared up until the end.

When I picked up Take a Chance, I said I had plenty of time to read it so no rush take my time. Well that went out the window about the second or third chapter, I could not put it down and finished it almost in one long sitting. Emma needs a job and she answers an ad for a nanny. She meets Blake and gets the nanny position for his daughter Katelyn. Sofia T. Summers does it again. She pulls out all the stops in this one, an age gap, secret pregnancy, mafia romance. If I could give it more then five stars I would. A great romance book.

I very much like this book! Amelia and Blake, what a couple at first she was jumpy and always on her heels if she sees danger which is understood that she ran from her father and Blake his a top notch businessman, who has a daughter is being careful who will be near him. But he falls in love with her and everything goes off with a bang. But I actually thought he was part of the mafia man but he isn’t and I actually enjoyed it and never once wanted to stop this book! This was a great book, in which Emma and Blake run into each other when she is on the run from her parents and he is a babysitter for his five-year-old daughter. But Emma has a secret he knows nothing about, only that the chemistry and attraction between them is palpable. Can they know a happy ending if they start a relationship? Take a Chance. I was captivated by this book. It started out as an ordinary book and then turned exciting when we discover who Emma really is and who her family is. Her father is searching for her because of an incident with her ex boyfriend. Blake is distraught when Emma is kidnapped. He vows to get her back. Things change when Blake finds Emma and they are reunited and decide to become a family. I enjoyed this book. ! This was another great book from this author, her storylines are fun to read and easy to be drug into. The forbidden chemistry between Blake and Emma were off the charts. I was happy to read that when her secrets got out he did not freak out and leave her. That happens a lot in books and it not happening is refreshing. The chemistry, the suspense, romance, and the storyline made this a really good read.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Emma/Amelia, Blake and his daughter Katelyn. The author does a great job building the story and moves it fluidly with her descriptive scenes. What a wonderful read Summers has delivered in this age-gap, mafia romance read. This is Emma and Blake's story. Well written and steamy, these two have such a captivating connection from the very beginning. I love the mystery surrounding these two characters and the forbidden chemistry is hot!
