I enjoyed this book, even though it felt a little dated. Probably more applicable as a guide for outdoor enthusiasts than as a manual for survival. Even so, it flowed better than many survival manuals I've read. It also had some very fine illustrations.
Old-fashioned advice, but I definitely learned a thing or two. I’ve been to a few survival workshops, but never learned so many methods of building a shelter or fire, or even for setting snares, which I’d read about in books but never received instruction in. Many good reminders not to travel into wilderness without the essentials, and some good ideas to improve comfort and think smart in sticky situations.
Very informational, a lot of the book was centered in desert regions. I still found a lot of good tips for any area. I enjoyed this book a lot but i will say it is PACKED with information and tips; not an easy read for most. But it is very dated.
