I was motivated to read this bbook since I know much about a Vietnam but Cuchi Tunnels have heard a lot about but never knew a lot of detail. This book fits the bill. The author has done a lot of research and it shows. Also, my wife worked at Long Bien,Dong Nai military Post only about 46 miles from Cuchi so I often wanted to know more details for personal reasons. I was appalled at the indiscriminate usage of Agent Orange as described in the book and it is no wonder both military and civilians who lived and worked nearby suffered many cancers sometimes long delayed.

The tunnel rats and viet cong who were their adversaries were both an amazing study in what human beings are capable of enduring. Good read if you enjoy military books or sociology (impact on society when tunnel rats and agent orange victims reintegrate).
