Love Me Some You: From One Night to Forever

Rate this book
Major Perkins is all about her business. She won’t let you get close enough to hurt her after she’s been there and barely survived that. All she wants to do is find peace with her past and love on her gift from God... Which was easy enough until Dominique Martin bulldozes into her life obliterating every lie she’s told herself.

Always misunderstood and judged, Nique expects his encounter with Major to be strictly physical and a onetime thing, but after it’s revealed the gift God gave Major also belongs to Dominique, the two find it impossible to escape one another.

Sparks fly, backs are blown out, and hearts are melded together, but there’s one problem… neither Major or Nique have healed their old wounds, leaving them fragile to perceived threats and heartbreak. Could a one-night stand turn into forever? Dive within this unconventional captivating tale to find out.

You were not kidding when you said that Dominique would take us on some highs and lows. But so did Major! These two characters were laced with childhood trauma, then severely damaged by their first loves! Both desperately wanting love but afraid to seek it, because they felt unworthy of it! Their faith and trust in the opposite sex was irrevocably broken, or so they thought! When Dominique met Major there was electricity in the air, and I was so excited for them; but I was not ready! Finding out how they were connected was crazy! However, that connection was the catalyst for their beautiful story! My heart broke for Nique, as he was still that 10-year-old boy inside, that was discarded by his parents and full of anger! As we pulled back his layers, he was a kind soul, who just needed to feel accepted, be shown some compassion and love. Major, hid all her pain by loving on Armani, and nurturing those around her. The pull that she felt with Dominique she couldn't understand but knew that there was more to him than this angry person. She poured into him by listening, paying attention, fed him positive affirmations and let him know he was not the monster he was portrayed to be. Dominique was also observant and noticed that Major had some demons of her own that she needed to slay! I absolutely loved this couple and was rooting for them throughout this entire read! If you love complicated individuals who love, lose, grow and redeem themselves this is it! Well done ma'am! Amazing story! ❤️👍👍👍

Love from trauma

I absolutely loved Major and Dominique. Yes, their relationship was a little unconventional but hey sometimes that's how life works. I loved how they poured into each other. There was trauma, but healing too. I love the imperfect souls that find their perfect mate. This story made my heart smile.

An imperfect love

I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. This book gave me something I didn’t even realize I needed. Dominique and Major were both flawed and dealing with a lot of pain from their pasts and they needed each other in the worst way. Dominique needed Major to affirm him and let him know he wasn’t all bad like people tried to tell him and once she did that, he was able to begin his healing and quiet those negative voices in his head. Once Dominique received those affirmations from Major, he was able to provide her with the same and gave her the patience and lack of judgement she needed to begin her own healing process.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I loved Dominique’s character. He loved and he loved hard and it was only his childhood abandonment and neglect that caused him to act out. I never saw him as needing to be redeemed and only that he needed the grace for himself and from others to be able to heal. You could see his heart from the beginning and I loved that he was a protector of his girls. Now Precious was the character that I wanted to redeem herself and in some ways she did but I still think she needed to apologize to Dominique for the things she said to him and how they ended instead of making it seem like everything was his fault and not accepting accountability for her own actions. Armani was the cutest little girl and she was able to thrive with Major stepping in as her mother and once her daddy came on the scene, she thrived even more. I do wish those secrets had been revealed long before they were but I also understand that was a process for all involved.

All in all, this was a very good and kind of unconventional love story. This couple went through it to get to their happily ever after but I enjoyed reading their journey even though some parts were tough to get through when seeing the reason for their pain on page. I would recommend this book for someone looking for an unconventional love that is not all neat and tied up in a bow.

Interesting storyline

I'd say 3.5 stars. This story had a lot of promise. I must say I was trying to figure out how they would be connected, and I didn't think it would be quite like that. I feel like there was a lot missing. The situation with precious and the man from all those years ago was left un touched for real. The fact that we're using the improper definition of a woman pass the 20-week mark, slight oversight. Dominique had all the audacity in the world for me. Are you mad at her not actively being there when you were only there financially??? I wish the author would've touched more on the situation with her ex because surely he didn't just go from her everything and the greatest thing since sliced bread just to do a 360, like how did we get here. Then, to bring him back 4 years later was just unfulfilled suspense that irritated me because what was the point
. The Giselle situation was wasted pages i feel except foe him to truly understand how much he did love her i guess so I'll take it but it was more so the church scene that left me like why and how did we get here?

Great Book

Mycah really dug through some real life emotions in this book. The main characters had so many flaws. Precious was a sad case. She had been hurt throughout her life and it continued. Major had some real MAJOR situations in her life that Nique was able to help her with. Dominique was a whole mess. The boxing was a real good way to work through that. Enjoyed getting to the ending. Hope there is going to be more. Want Precious to give them what they need to be a family. Need Nique to produce that ring and for his mom to start to really live.
Peaches was a real hit with me.

Happy reading‼️

So good!!

I loved this book from author Mycah Edwards!! The initial chemistry between Major and Dominique was off the charts! 🔥 The way they reconnected and the people they had in common literally blew my mind. I was not expecting that at all. I loved that although flawed, Dominique was self aware and I think that fact help him to better himself for his loved ones. 5++ star read!

loved

She really did her thing with this book. You couldn’t help but feel their feelings. Dominique most definitely redeemed himself. Precious not so much. At least she stayed true to who she was. And I was right about ok boy! I loved Nique’s growth and maturity throughout the book. Because baby if he hadn’t that Paris situation would’ve went totally different. I loved how it showed effects of depression & grief. Outstanding

Know your worth

Some people believe money is everything. They think they buy you. Major thought she found the love of her life. While her man felt since he provided everything, money, housing. He owned her. Whatever he wanted, she had to do because she had nothing without him. Self-worth is everything. She moved on. Created a good life. Met a good but not perfect man.

This was everything!!

This story was amazing from beginning to end. The road to forgiveness and healing was a central theme that many don't discuss in the open. Major and Dominique were the perfect characters even though they didn't always see themselves in the best light. That Precious though.. whew Chile she was something else. The enabling of her annoyed me the most!

A Forever Love ❤️

This was a beautiful love story. Things don't turn out the way Dominique or Major thought it would, but life has a funny way of balancing things out. A chance meeting changes everything for these two. It's a story of surprises, and it's definitely a must-read. It was a pleasure reading this book 🥰.

Love Me Some You

I loved the character development of Dominique and Major. They both had some healing to do. But they attempted to bring out the best in each other. No one is perfect and it showed the rawness of how parental issues if undealt with affect our adult relationships. No joke.

💙 me some you

Good read. It took me awhile to connect the dots between Major, Precious and Armani but it made perfect sense. I was so happy to see Major land on her feet after Paris and so glad she didn’t hesitate to leave. Nique was complicated but never unlovable💙

good read

This was a good read with some new and interesting story lines. Can’t wait to see what’s to come. You never know how things affect others that’s why you have to know all the facts before you be judgemental towards someone.

Out the norm

First, loved the cover art. This one had depth. Major was a good one cause a few of her acquaintances should have caught them hands! Dominique went through the greatest transformation, that was a good look for him. Still puzzled by what was going on with Precious.

One night stand that turns into forever. This was well done, from the start I was unsure where the story was going. Major and Dominique their journey was not predictable or routine. It was magical. This was a good read!

Loved Major and Nique's story!

I loved Major and Nique's story. They both had been through so much, so it was great to see them find love in each other. Armani was such a sweetheart and I loved the development of the secondary characters as well. Great work!
