The real one's much more gory.From there we learn that Cinderella lived in a cellar, with rats nibbling at her feet before being rescued by the fairy godmother. The story gets progressively grosser and odder (like the moment where the dress ).
Poor Cindy's heart was torn to shreds.From Jack and the Beanstalk to Snow White to the Three Little Pigs, Dahl manages to revive old, worn fairy tales into quirky adventures full of violence and gross details.

The little pig began to prayI will say, each story surprised me with the ending - often darker than the stories that we are used to. I liked some of the little twists that he gives to other little fairy tales and others had me shaking my head, asking why???
But Wolfie blew his house away.
He shouted, "Bacon, Pork, and Ham!
Oh what a lucky wolf I am!"
And though he ate the pig quite fast,
He carefully kept the tail till last.
