USA Today Bestselling author Kimberly Krey is known as the Queen of Steamy Clean Romance. She's a fervent lover of God, family, and cheese platters, as well as the ultimate hater of laundry. Her readers count on faith-filled romance novels that stay clean without losing the steam.
It was refreshing to be back on a ranch in small town Montana with another witness protection romance. Although this is Book 4, it can stand alone.
Taja and her young, animal fact spouting daughter, Rosie, are both adorable and sweet and it's no surprise when hesitant Wes finds himself captivated. Wes's brothers have a great camaraderie, and they are loyal and tough when it counts. After Taja witnessed a crime/shooting, she's got more than enough protection and it was fun watching her enjoy the small town shenanigans and traditions with this family and their best friends.
Kimberly Krey knows how to write a swoony romance and this story was no exception. I also loved when the plot dialed in on some intense danger, which created the perfect concoction of romance and suspense. I'm excited to see where she'll take us next, with another brother's story!
Content: mild+ romance (kissing, light innuendo); mild+ moments of suspense/peril

Taja’s Cowboy Caress is a tender story about a single mom in danger finding refuge, hope, and healing on a Montana ranch. When Taja and her young daughter Rosie are forced into hiding after a family friend is shot by a ruthless hunter, they wind up at Copeland Brothers Ranch in Blue Sky, Montana. Wes Copeland, a cowboy with a wounded heart and painful memories tied to a mother and child, becomes Taja’s protector and, slowly, something more than that.
What really moved me was the emotional honesty between Taja and Wes. Taja carries fear and vulnerability that feels deeply real, especially as a mother trying to shield her child and build a life in the shadow of threat. Wes’s past makes him hesitant, he’s been hurt before but his patience and bravery shine through. Their bond doesn’t rush; it grows with small acts of care and quiet understanding. At the same time, there’s a persistent tension that their hard-won peace could be shattered when Taja must return for the trial. The pacing is gentle but gripping, balancing sweet, clean romance with real stakes. If you like inspirational cowboy stories with heart, faith, and a touch of suspense, this one is a beautiful, hopeful read. Four stars for its warmth, emotional depth, and how it handles love and healing in the face of danger.
The Sweet Montana Bride Series is very dear to my heart. It was so fun to not only revisit that world but also to add to it!
I hope you guys love the Copeland family as much as you do the Emersons who, by the way, make cameo appearances throughout the story.
Taja is a single mom who struggles to trust men. Wes is a moody, broody cowboy who's nursing a broken heart. And Rosie is a rosy-cheeked seven-year-old who loves to quote animal fun facts. I hope you enjoy this tender and heartwarming story of how their worlds collide.
Expect sweet, closed-door romance including passionate kisses, elements of suspense, and lots of animal fun facts that may surprise you.
I loved her first round of cowboy witness protection stories and this next round didn’t disappoint! I just finished Taja’s Cowboy Caress, the first in another new series of books and it was great! The characters from the original series make brief appearances in this one with families of their own now to remind us how the original series started. For those who haven’t read the first round they should whet the appetite Togo back and read their stories! But, this one can easily be read as a stand-alone. The originals were my favourites of all her writing and I have read them multiple times. I would definitely recommend all of them. Her books are all clean romances with no swearing, no sex but some pretty steamy kisses and some good romance thrown in. There is some suspense but nothing scary. She’s off to a great start with this new set of books and I’m already looking forward to reading Thatcher’s story!
Taja a new mum does everything she can for her daughter. A great opening series following the Copeland family. A lovely romantic story and love and loyalty shine from the page…..In this cowboy witness protection angsty tale. Well written with good characters and backgrounds I received an arc of this book and my review is my own voluntary
Taja's Cowboy Caress is a brilliant and extraordinary continuation of one of my all-time favorite series. There are few things that beats a man who has a job that brings out his passion and protection and care not just in his work but in all areas of his life. Then, you know that when he finally settles down to love, he will do it with everything that he is. The other side of the coin is a woman whose heart longs for that almost extinct species - a good and honest man. When these two collide, there will be fireworks and chemistry that will put the forth of July to shame.
An unexpected encounter with a stranger upturns Taja's world in the blink of an eye. Nothing will ever be the same again, and she can do nothing to stop its momentum. All she can do is hold onto her hope and her daughter. When she is brought to a family to seek refuge, she finds much more then safety. She finds a glimmer of hope and the promise of peace. However, we all know that it is darkest before the dawn, and Taja is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Can this new place of comfort and hope be enough to give rest to her weary soul, or will she discover that she doesn't belong anywhere?
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Copeland family. They are truly filled with surprises at every turn. Just when you think you know everything about them something or someone comes along to readjust your view. Wes was no exception to that rule. He had so many beautiful layers to him that I found myself hopeful that he would see the gift before him, accept it, and treasure it always. He and Taja both had some growing to do, and along with that growth comes some pain which was marvelously soothed by the other's quiet and bright spirit.
Kimberly Krey never fails to astound and delight me with her extraordinary stories of hope and love. In a world of darkness and strife and selfishness, she shines light on hope, grace, and love. Those are gifts that we need now more then ever, so don't miss out on the beauty and wonder of this simple yet hopeful world of cowboys and danger.
Much more than a cowboy romance I started this book expecting a typical cowboy romance but it has much more in store for the reader. Taja, a single mom, saw the man who tried to take her friends life as he was leaving the nature center where Taja worked and he saw her and her car’s plates. Now after identifying the man, the police are worried that he will try to get rid of the only witness to his crime. In an effort to keep Taja safe, she and her daughter are taken directly to a safe location in Montana, a ranch where she can pose as a family friend. But soon Wes, the ranch owner’s son and Taja are on their way to becoming much more than friends. Still looming on the horizon is the trial that requires her testimony and three brothers intent on keeping her from doing that. A sweet story that also has a good sized dose of suspense. A very enjoyable read. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
I loved the earlier books in this series and was excited that the author is writing another round featuring the Copeland brothers. Taja and her adorable young daughter, Rosie, came to the Copeland ranch to hide until time for Taja to give testimony in the murder trial of a dangerous criminal. Her arrival was met with mixed reactions by the brothers and their parents. The Copeland parents were very welcoming but Wes was not very happy to have a single mom and her child around since they reminded him of his recent devastating breakup with a former love and her son. He didn’t need to worry because Taja was not looking for a man to date. But strong chemistry and mutual admiration won out and you can guess what happened. There was quite a bit of suspense in this story but my favorite parts were the scenes with the swoony kissing. It’s a fun and engaging story that would make a great beach read. I received an ARC and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.
I don’t usually read romance and suspense books. I sometimes came across some but didn’t enjoy the “suspense part”. I knew that this book was a romantic suspense novel and I gave it a try because the blurb was interesting. I was not disappointed! I really loved Taja and Wes’ story! Taja’s daughter is so lovely and funny! She’s not a random addiction to have a single parent’ story pretense. She really add something to the story and has a real part in it. Wes’ family is fun and I loved them at first sight/description! His brothers, his parents, the neighbors… Each time I opened the book, I was taken to their ranch and into their lives! It’s part of a series but I read it as a standalone and it was perfectly fine! I’m not a fan of danger and suspense but I was hooked and I was so disappointed when I had to close the book for some reason! The end didn’t disappoint me and I look forward the other books of the series and this author in general!
Kimberly Krey has added an incredible dimension to her extraordinary talent as a romance author—suspense. In addition to giving us everything we desire in a contemporary romance, namely her gift for writing sizzling chemistry between her characters, her story turns in Taja’s Cowboy Caress are brilliant. Wes is a layered, complex character; Taja is vulnerable, yet strong. Attraction ignites and evolves into love, admiration, and respect despite constant danger and a trial looming over them. This book is so much more than a typical cowboy romance. It will astound and delight. Be prepared to stay up reading late into the night! ~Shantal Sessions, Romance Author and Team Clean Romance Moderator
Was really looking forward to reading this and it certainly did not disappoint. Taja and Rosie are mother and daughter who end up in the witness protection program. Wes is a typical moody broody cowboy still recovering from a broken heart and definitely not looking for romance. Although you still have a rom com aspect to the story I loved the fact you also had the thrill and mystery of how things turn out after a trial. This book has been so well written that I just could not put it down. I recieved the book as an ARC copy and this is my own honest opinion and review. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I have, I can't wait for the next in this superb series
This book is a continuation of the Sweet Montana Bride series and doesn’t disappoint! The story of Taja, her daughter Rosie, and what brings them to into the witness protection program is at time riveting. I wasn’t bored with this book and the romance between Taja and Wes is meant to be from the first time they set eyes on each other. I also like how previous characters have reoccurring roles in parts of their story. Rosie adds a comic relief with her facts about animals and their mating rituals. A delightful and fun read with a bit of suspense.
Taja's Cowboy Caress is a clean, heartwarming, second chance romance with suspense that will keep you up way too late if you do not start reading it much earlier in the day! This well written book has everything I love in a book - great romance, a darling, animal fact spouting daughter, some really nasty bad dudes for the suspense, unofficial witness protection and more. The Copelands are amazing and Taja is a very, strong character. I loved every minute of my time spent in Montana!
A story of families, the mayhen and love that goes along with it. When Taja and her daughter are put into witness protection at theire ranch. A love begins with Wes, trying to get over a break up, and for her trying to trust men. A delightful story for her readers. Given ARC for my voluntary review
Kimberly, Did an amazing job with this story. I love the suspense in finding when Taja and her daughter would be able to but a bad man away for good and the way thay everything came to be was suspenseful but not drawn out. Wes was a great support and his open heart were amazing. Loved it.
If all the books in this series is as good I can't wait. Taja, Wes and Rosie are such great characters. You just have to love them. Suspense and romance are MT favorite and this one made my list. I highly recommend.
Absolutely Love the tension, suspense and sweetness all wrapped up in one beautiful read! Kimberly captured my attention from the start of the book and kept it throughout while keeping it clean.
This was a sweet romance, and it was nice to return to the series after reading the others a while back. I especially loved Rosie- her excitement to share random facts about animals was hilarious.
I loved the first series, and was excited to hear that it was being added to. This didn’t disappoint. Great characters that fit seamlessly in with the original series and continue it with their own stories. I look forward to more from this family of cowboys and the witnesses they protect.
This is a great read! I have been a fan of Kimberly’s books for many years and this one did not disappoint! Romance, suspense, cowboys and ranch life! What more could you want? I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more in the series!
Wonderful clean addition to this series by Kimberly Krey. Fun characters and heartwarming story. After Taja witnessed a poacher in the state park, she finds her friend, Jin, badly injured. The police know about the ruthless poaching group, but haven’t been able to get enough evidence to arrest them. Since Taja can identify one of them, they need to send her and her daughter away for protection. Taja and Rosie are sent to the Copeland ranch. She is staying in a house with Wes and REM, two of the brothers on the ranch. Wes is recovering from a broken heart after his single mom girlfriend leaves him to go back to her ex. Will Wes be able to protect his heart while keeping Taja and Rosie safe? *I received this book as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
I was so excited to hear that this author is revisiting and extending this rancher/witness protection series! I loved the first books from years ago. The author did a good job of providing a background from the first series so I don't think you need to go back and read those to understand this book.
This book had 3 P's: painting, poetry and pudding. You'll have to read it to understand. :) I really enjoyed Taja and her daughter (who spouted all kinds of random animal facts). Wes was a work in progress (understandable given his past) but once he was in, he was totally in. His desire to be a dad and protect was so attractive.
I loved the last bit of the book with some danger and suspense. That was probably my favorite part. I'm glad to be back in this world again. This author is so great at writing kissing scenes too. Loved that part! I'm excited to get more of this type of book with this family of brothers.
Content: peril, mild violence. Kissing.
- I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was the first book I read by Kimberly Krey and it did not disappoint. I was drawed into the book and loved the characters and have bought the other three Montana Bride books so I can read them as well. This book was large on faith and had some suspense which is not my favorite but she told it so well that I kept going and didn't have nightmares about it. Normally I don't read books with suspense for that reason. Taja was a single mother who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wes had his heart broken by a single mom & didn't want to have anything to do with her. But with God all things are possible and a meddling momma who wants to be a grandma. Rosie is Taja's gaughter and she has everyone wrapped around her little finger including me with her fun animal facts that she just randomly sprouts off. I highly recommend this book. I was given this book as ARC book to read and my review was freely given.

This is a continuation of a previous series, with another family, if you have not read the other books, you wont miss much, BUT do go back and find them, they are awesome too. This book is clean yet sizzles, is that a thing? I guess it is after reading this. Taja is a witness to a crime and heads to stay with the Copeland family and their oldest son Wes is NOT going to fall for her and her daughter Rosie, not matter what his match maker mother says, this is a temproary stop for Taja and Rosie. This book gave me all the feels, it has cowboys, small towns, a bit of suspense, and of coarse a HEA, i did not want to put it down. I am looking forward to Rem's story! There is NO cliff hangers, but beware you might just fall in love with this family and want to read the next books.
When I heard that Kimberly was releasing a new book in the Montana Bride Series, I was excited to revisit some of my favorite characters. As a matter of fact, I re-read the old books in anticipation of the new one. And man, Kim did not disappoint! Our leading man Wes is a cowboy with a heart of gold, even though there is a hole in his heart the size of Texas from a previous heart ache. I loved all the character development in this story as Wes puts his heart on the line to protect Taja and her precious daughter. And of course Kimberly also finds a way to delivery sizzling chemistry with just the right amount of swoon while keeping things clean and closed-door. Grab a cup of coffee and cozy up with this sweet-romance that will have you curling your toes and put a happy grin on your face!
“Taja’s Cowboy Caress: Witness Protection - Rancher Style,” by Kimberly Krey is just as captivating and swoon-worthy as the first in the series, but can easily be read as a standalone. I couldn’t wait for it to come out, and it did not disappoint!!
Fast becoming one of my favorite authors, Ms Krey consistently demonstrates that it’s possible to write engaging, faith-filled, contemporary romance with humor and heart, and just the right balance of steam, with chemistry that sizzles, while keeping it clean. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it!! It might just be my favorite series so far, but I’ll have to keep reading just to make sure!
Taja is a single mom with a seven year old daughter, Rosie. After Rosie's birthday party at a nature reserve, Taja witnesses a man shoot her dear friend Jin. After going to the Oregon police, Taja and Rosie are whisked secretly away to the Copeland Ranch in remote Montana. Wes, second oldest Copeland son, feels like his parents are forcing him to protect Taja and he is struggling after a breakup with a single mom and her son. I love the Copeland family and their willingness to care for others' as a protection haven of sorts. The Emerson family from the first three books are involved in the story but it stands alone well. The mix of romance and suspense is perfect.
I am so glad to be back in this series. I love the characters in this book, the strong family ties and the love among neighbors. Wes was not happy when he found out that they were going to be having a woman and her daughter come out to their ranch, but then he met Taja and it all changed. Taja witnessed a horrible crime, so she had to get out of her home and go somewhere safe and that is how Taja and Wes met. I love Rosie, she is spunky, and her animal facts were very entertaining. The suspense in this story had me wanting to hide my eyes but then I couldn’t read, haha. This is such a fantastic story and I highly recommend reading it.
