The first two volumes of Blue Monday were mostly focused on Bleu. This one shifts focus to Clover and Victor, and their crushes on each other. We see the development of their relationship through a few holidays. It starts with Halloween, which is mostly just a goofy comic where they tell "scary" stories riffing on popular Halloween movies. After that is Christmas, which is more silliness. Valentine's Day is where it starts to get more serious, and is a really, really sweet story. Chynna is very effective in showing how Clover and Victor feel about each other, and the ending is sweet. Then comes St. Patrick's Day, for more comedy, as the Irish Clover hates the holiday, and gets increasingly angry and drunk, climaxing in a confrontation with lecherous leprechauns. And, finally, is April Fool's Day, which is also Victor's birthday. It's more comedy, with another sweet ending.
This book is a little uneven in parts. But most of it is great. It's funny, but Chynna's also got a good insight into what it's like to be a teenager. Her art is very manga-esque, and it fits the tone of the book well.
