Η πρώτη στα χρονικά Ανθολογία Κουήρ Ποίησης με ποιήματα αποκλειστικά από ποιήτριες/ες/α που γεννήθηκαν, κατάγονται ή ζουν στην Ελλάδα εκδόθηκε από τις Εκδόσεις Θράκα, σε συνεργασία με το Ίδρυμα Ρόζα Λούξεμπουργκ- παράρτημα Ελλάδας. Η Ανθολογία αποτελείται από ποιήματα γραμμένα από σύγχρονους κουήρ δημιουργούς.

About the author

Nicholas Koutsodontis is a poet, translator, and LGBTQI+ activist, born in Athens, Greece, in 1987. He studied Sociology at Panteion University of Social and Political Studies and lived for several years in Thessaloniki before returning to Athens, where he now resides.
He published three collections of poetry: Χαλκομανία (Decalcomania, Edypois, 2017; reissued by Thraca, 2024), Μόνο κανέναν μη μου φέρεις σπίτι (Just Don’t You Bring Me Anyone Home, Thraca, 2021, Third edition 2026) and Ίσως φύγεις στο εξωτερικό (Maybe You’ll Go Abroad, Thraca, 2024, Second edition 2026).
In 2018, his poetry collection Decalcomania was shortlisted for the Anagnostis Award. In the same year, he won First Prize in the George N. Carter Panhellenic Poetry Competition, organized by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, for a body of poems subsequently incorporated into his collection Just Don’t You Bring Me Anyone Home.
In 2021, he was selected to represent Greece in the literary residency programme Ulysses’ Shelter, spending three weeks in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
In 2023, he brought together a collaborative group of poets and academics to establish the editorial board of the first Anthology of Greek Queer Poetry, published by Thraca in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Greece. Serving as the anthology’s chief editor, he helped lead a project aimed at amplifying LGBTQI+ voices in Greek literature and fostering creative self-expression through poetry.
Since 2021, he has been working for Thraca Editions. He is involved in the preparation of promotional and press materials, and the cultivation of partnerships with poets, scholars, and cultural organizations. In addition, he curates and organizes literary events—including poetry readings, panel discussions, and festivals—throughout Greece, facilitating exchanges between writers, academics, and the wider public. Through these initiatives, he has contributed to the promotion of contemporary Greek poetry and to the strengthening of literary networks at both local and national levels.
He is a member of the organizing committee of the Thessalian Poetry Festival and serves as head of the organizing team for the Queer Arts and Heritage Festival, “Community is Our Strength.”
He has translated poetry collections by Marko Pogačar, Helen Ivory, Alvin Pang and Martin Figura into Greek, all published by Thraca, as well as works by authors participating in the “Ulysses’ Shelter” programme, published in the second volume of the Ulysses’ Shelter anthology (Thraca, 2021) and in the third volume, Somewhere in the Middle (Thraca, 2022). His own poems have been translated into several languages, including Croatian, German, Spanish, Slovenian, Italian, Polish and Albanian, and have appeared in major British literary journals such as Poetry London and Modern Poetry in Translation.
He is a member of the Poets’ Circle (Κύκλος Ποιητών) and the Writers’ Network (Δίκτυο Λογοτεχνών), and in 2024 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Society of Literary Artists of Thessaloniki (Εταιρία Λογοτεχνών Θεσσαλονίκης).

Ανάμεσα σε χιλιάδες τίτλους «ετεροκανονικών» εκδόσεων, η ροζ ανθολογία Κουήρ Ποίησης συνιστά ένα εκδοτικό statement και ταυτόχρονα ένα αποκούμπι ανανέωσης, διαφορετικότητας και φρεσκάδας.

Όπως θα ήταν αναμενόμενο σε μια συλλογή κουήρ ποίησης, στην παρούσα αναδεικνύονται θέματα όπως ο ομόφυλος έρωτας, η ελεύθερη έκφραση της σεξουαλικότητας (με την έννοια της ταυτότητας και με αυτή της επιθυμίας), το τρανς βίωμα, η αποκήρυξη των ετεροκανονικών πλαισίων προσδιορισμού, η δυσφορία φύλου και η έμφυλη βία, ενώ δίνεται χώρος για έκφραση βιωμάτων αθέατων και διαχρονικά αποσιωπημένων, όπως το κουήρ ανάπηρο βίωμα. Όπως παρατηρείται στο επίμετρο της έκδοσης, η χαρά απουσιάζει από το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των ποιημάτων. Κοινός τους τόπος είναι η θλίψη και η οργή απέναντι σε ένα σύστημα περιθωριοποίησης, η μάταιη διεκδίκηση της ορατότητας αλλά και της ελευθερίας μέσα σε μια συνθήκη πατριαρχικής καταπίεσης.

Ακόμα και σε τέτοιες συνθήκες ωστόσο, σχεδόν όλα τα ποιήματα ορθώνουν το κουήρ ανάστημά τους με μια απενοχοποιημένη αυτοαναφορικότητα, ακόμα κι αν αυτή είναι ειρωνική. Η εικονοπλαστική ιχνογράφηση του κουήρ αντιστέκεται στους εξαντλητικούς ορισμούς που θα το εγκλώβιζαν και που το ίδιο αποκηρύσσει.

Υπέροχη η βραδιά της 11ης Ιουνίου που έγινε η παρουσίαση της συλλογής στο θέατρο Εμπρός και διαβάστηκε μέρος των ποιημάτων.
Συγκλονιστική ανθολογία, τη λάτρεψα.
Όλα τα άτομα που συμμετείχαν έχουν τόσο ταλέντο, τόσο όμορφη σκέψη, τόση ελεύθερη σκέψη, τόσο πάθος, τόση ενσυναίσθηση, τόση αγάπη. Ακόμα και τους φόβους τους όμως ή τη λύπη τους τα κάνουν ποίηση, τα μεταμορφώνουν σε τόσο σπουδαία τέχνη.
Μόνο υπόκλιση στο ταλέντο και συγχαρητήρια.
