The novelization of the second of the original four Herbie films. The book is full of still image shots from the film. The aunt of the Buddy Hackett character from the first film. Keenan Wynn appeared as Alonzo Hawk, the villain from "The Absent Minded Professor" and its sequel, "Son of Flubber," tying the two Disney series together. This movie was a cash grab aimed at little kids. It worked for Disney. As a movie, and a novelization, it just isn't very good.

Minimalist writing - the screenplay is (barely) novelized. Lots of pictures, not enough words. Unless you're a Disney junkie, one to avoid.

I loved the movie when I was a kid so I picked this up for 50 cents at a flea market and had a little trip down memory lane. My favorite part is when Herbie rides around the city calling all the other VW Bugs to his aid. I look forward to sharing this with nieces and nephews as they are learning to read.

Cute little read for the book/movie combo project that my sister and I are working on. Herbie saves the day and it has a romantic ending.
