This is book 7 of Midlife Demons and Demigods, another great series by great authors. Helps to start the series with book 1 as it provides the origins and history of the characters.
This story starts out with the team recovering from a recent interaction with the king of the underworld, his offspring and Magnus, a powerful empowered whom created some challenges while being a member of the council. Some of the members required healing, however, while Shannon was still recovering from her magic use with the scroll, the team healer was requested, Kranston, whom was able to step in to assist.
Turns out, there is a powerful book that had been disguised by Magnus in the residence he chose with other empowered such as Amalie, the now leader of the council. Shannon, and her parafinai, Daryn, discover the location and find a way in. In searching for this book, Shannon discovers a book disguised as an encyclopedia that when opened, only shows legibly for those of a particular empowerment and may only show what is needed at that time based on intention.
With the book in hand, now The Book of the God's, Daryn and Shannon return to the council chambers, provide the details and find the book contains transference magic that may bring the king through the well-protected portal gates. After this discovery and meeting, the team requires rest. Daryn and Shannon attempt to get some nourishment and while eating, humorously, Shannon asks why Daryn refused salad to which his reply, adding wonderful laughs, was "they always put celery in it which is like chewing sticks of water with hair in it". One sentiment I totally agree with!
Soon after some rest, the team of hunters is called on to investigate a situation in well traveled shopping area where they found the unempowered had been infected with worms from the underworld. While Shannon's healing could help, the magic required is powerful and required an extra hand. A request was put to Kenji, the adorable imp, to help create a potion they could turn into a virus to eradicate the worms, only one ingredient comes from Hawaii and is quite rare. The hunters were able to portal to Hawaii then brought Kenji to the greenhouse where she was able to create the potion. Kenji suggested they add it to the water supply for all in town after Daryn empowered the potion. Daryn was able to add his magic, made the virus airborne then had it added to the water supply to which Kenji reported was successful and eradicated the worms.
The Book of the God's, misused previously by Magnus is now seemingly called upon with intention by Shannon and may be the one empowered item needed for the team to reinforce the gates and stop the king. Upon beginning the spell, Magnus steps through and states "you will not return the gate to its former glory". Shannon sacrificed Magnus and finished the ritual which returned the gate to the ley lines and began restoring its original power, and protection, although during the gate reconfiguration, some demons may have gotten loose from the underworld.
After the gate was moved, a meeting with the hunters was held and Lochlan asked Master Marty Sempler to demonstrate his obsidian magic, now fully restored once the gate was also restored. This protective magic will be vital for the hunters moving forward
Uncovering a spell in the book that may help them return the king to the underworld, Shannon and Daryn must ask the Oracle, Manon, to bless a blade with a painful truth that turns out to also be Shannon's painful truth. Other ingredients are needed as well such as a chalice found at the hunter museum and dark aloe. Needless to say, the battle ensues at the hunter's headquarters and the king manages to come through the gate. The hunters take on the hybrid demons while Shannon, Daryn, Caleb, Sphinx and Kenji take on the king. In conclusion and without running the final, our heroes manage to overcome these challenges with surprising additional help from Marty and Lochlan.
This is book seven of the Midlife Demons and Demigods series and the demon king is now in this realm, even if he is not at full power and lost his feet in the last confrontation. Shannon and her parafinai Daryn, head of the hunters, must protect the gate and the hunter’s base. The rest of their team is Cipher, the twins, Indego and Kaine Frost, although Kaine is quite enjoying his recent demotion. Amalie and Reginald are the only ones left on the Council, although Magnus, who we now know is the demon king’s son, is still tied to the council and thus the magic of the gate. The Council will need to be rebuilt and soon, to get back up to full power. Shannon is going to have to use her magic and special connection to the gate to realise exactly what has been done to it by Magnus and fix the connections to the leylines by placing it back where it belongs! All this while they are all kept busy protecting their base, the council building and the town itself from all the demons who have managed to get through the ever weakening veil between their worlds, after Magnus weakened it so. The Demon King is also gathering the many hybrids created by his son, to join his army. Caleb, Shannon’s son, is still working on his emotions with his shadow cat Sphinx, and has to get a few reminders of his position and that his mother is his superior when working or training!
They are going to have to use all of their strengths and powers to stop the Demon King from taking over their world. Shannon must use her connection to the Book of the Gods, as well as finding and translating a secret journal, to ensure her parents sacrifice all those years ago was not in vain! Shannon and her son Caleb have targets on their backs, as the Demon King knows they are the only ones that can actually stop him, from what he believes to be a prophecy showing he could rule both worlds. But without him beign returned to his own realm, both worlds would be destroyed. Shannon will have a revelation from the oracles herself and it will be a painful discovery. In the end, she may have to decide between sacrificing herself and thus her parafinai, or her son. They are facing overwhelming odds and there is only so much they can do. The ability to raise and control the dead will be key to the final battle, but some come from a line of former hunters and those now dead who wish the Demon King to be returned to his own home, instead of allowing the veil to break apart completely and destroy this world. Lots of surprises in the finale of the battle, with Sphinx taking a surprising role for Caleb. How much power Shannon will need to pull from those beside her, that she loves with her whole soul, brings her to a shocking decision and a huge sacrifice. I have no idea how this one will be followed, but still more to come from the series and I can’t wait to read them. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Redeemed By Magic is the seventh book in the Midlife Demons and Demigods series. These are not standalone books. Each books picks up from the last so you're best off starting with the first book: Destiny Of Magic.
In Unleashed By Magic, we left off with Magnus bringing his father through the gate and Shannon shutting the door to the underworld using Daryn's magic. While the demon king got through (minus his feet), Shannon was able to retrieve the king's scroll, their only hope of sending the beast back where he belongs.
We learn that Magnus sacrificed Calder and drew upon the council members' life force to open the gate. They quickly determine the priority needs to be to rebuild the council members to strengthen the gate once more.
Following a lead from Amalie, Shannon and Daryn head to Alaric's house in search of what they believe might be Renkath's journal.
"The book was likely written using a certain power. That means that only a witch of warlock with the same power can read it."
Good thing it was written using necromancer powers because that allowed Shannon to read it when they finally located it. When she notes that the book is essentially a handbook on how to bring the demon king to this realm, they quickly return to Amalie's side to let her know.
They don't have much time to figure out how to fight the demon king so they need to move fast.
Once again there's a lot going on but some of the highlights are: (1) They need Kenji's help to fight off the ongoing worm attacks (2) The team asks Ares for his help (3) Shannon is prepared to sacrifice herself to restore the gate (4) Magnus' years of preparation for his father's arrival start to make sense (5) Shannon has a realization about her friendly ghost (6) Shannon visits the oracles again and learns something that shocks her (7) Amalie drops a bomb on Marlin (8) The king attacks ...and more!
I thought Redeemed by Magic was the final book so I was confused by the ending, but I was elated to discover that there are at least 3 more books planned for this series! Mystery of Magic is coming in Feb 2024, Sin of Magic in Apr 2024, and Madness of Magic in Jun 2024. I hate having to wait to find out what comes next, but I love these characters so I'll definitely be looking forward to February!
Shannon and Daryn and all of the hunters, witches and warlocks are in for it now! The Demon King in is out in the world and the Veil between the dead and alive is breaking down. Shannon is all that stands in the way and our annihilation. So many reveals and revelations happen in this book and the fight scenes are freaking awesome. Bit of warning tho- this one brought me to tears a lot. We finally find out who Amalie’s daughter, Lana’s father is. I called it, woo. Lol. There are a lot of spells that they need Shannon to read from the Book of the Gods- some to deal with the Demon King and some to help heal the Council. I thought I loved Kenji, the little demon imp before! She is just awesome.
Indy and Kaine’s normal bickering helped deal with all of the angst and worry that everyone was at. Because a lot of “it” was hitting the fan. A lot. So many of the dead had messages for the main team and the master hunters. We finally find out who Jeremy really is and I called it from the first book. This book has to be the scariest of them so far. I chewed my nails to the quick on this one. I can’t wait for the next one! A lot of freaky stuff happens in this book. I’m going to be thinking on this one for a while.

Our heroine has to come to grips with the choices her parents made and how it affects her. And then she has to make her own difficult choices. How much, or even who, is she willing to sacrifice to win this conflict?
This is book seven of the series. It does pretty well as a standalone, but will definitely be a better experience if read in order.
This is a paranormal romance story with witches, demons and that ilk. The story is well written and easy to read with a plot that nonetheless has a lot going on. The setting is well developed and quite intriguing, so I am definitely looking forward to exploring it in future books. The characters are equally well done. I definitely like our heroine and look forward to getting to know her better. The plot has a nice bit of mystery to it and, of course, plenty of magic. Overall, this is an intense series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

Right out of the gate, this book pulled me into its richly woven tapestry of magic, danger, and emotional stakes. Shannon's determination and inner struggles were palpable, and the growing threat of the Demon King gave me goosebumps. The narration was stellar—Katie Hagaman doesn't just read; she performs. Her voice brought Shannon's courage, Daryn’s steadfastness, and even the sinister whispers of the Demon King to life. This book feels like a culmination of everything the series has been building toward, with enough twists and reveals to make your head spin.
The pacing of this book is relentless, the stakes impossibly high, and the emotional depth profound. I laughed, cried, and held my breath more times than I can count. I’ll be revisiting this series, for sure, and I cannot wait for the next one!
If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for? Start with book one and let Redeemed by Magic blow your mind when you get there.

Shannon and Daryn are up to their necks in problems. The demon king made it through the gate, at least most of him did, and now they have to figure out how to get him back through before he can bring his demon horde to the human realm. There are only two council members left, so replacements need to be found, vetted, and elected. Shannon has a demon scroll, which might have some answers but they need to find Magnus' journal which Alaric had apparently gotten his hands on. They also need to protect the gate and figure out how to get more power to it and the breach map. Lots of revelations in this one before the final confrontation. I hope this isn't the end of the series as I really like these characters.

Shannon and Daryn have failed to stop the Demon King from coming through the gate. Their power is depleted. They need to rest. But for hunters there is minimal rest. Their job is to now send the king back. With only two council members left the job now is to find new members and for that Amalie is chosen. Now they must search for a journal kept by the traitor. Danger is always close especially for Shannon because only she can send the king back. A war is closing in which bring both the living and the dead into the fight. Will Shannon and Daryn and her son survive? A fast paced story that is so enthralling the reader will be enthralled.

Extraordinary story. The traitor has been revealed and the king has been brought through the gate. If they can't get the king back in the Underworld all will be lost. The hunters are also dealing with more demons, hybrids, and a worm infection. They are gathering the items needed to finish this. New information comes to light causing some major distractions. Hey when it rains it pours. The storyline comes to a head in this part of the series. I absolutely love this series, the way the story progressed keeping you invested in the story. Highly recommend this if you love fast paced edge of your seat kind of read!! Truly a must read series!.

Shannon and Darrin must face off with the demon prince, all sorts of demons, and the demon king. Along the way, they learn of secrets and truths that had been hid from them. Shannon is faced with a choice to sacrifice her son or her mate. Which one will she choose? There's so many twist and turns to this story. It seems once one mystery is solved with traitors, deaths, and magical beings, then they're left with more questions needing answered. This book will keep you on the edge of you seat and guessing what's gonna happen next.
The audiobook is done very well and Katie Hagaman does an excellent job with the narration.

Shannon and her fated mate Daryn do not even get a chance at a formal date before several variations on the endings of the worlds they know try to play out
with several necromancers and a demon prince, demon king, demon hordes and hybrid armies battling, as well as Hunters - things are unsurprisingly epically intense
there are connections between Hunters, and their own bonded family and partners
can they solve the demonic and magical challenges and mysteries to enough resolution to help save the separate realms?
intense action and emotional drama as powers and principalities rise and fall
“Nobody could live with half a soul. He had become mine.”
Thrilling conclusion to the seven book series. The fate of everyone, including mankind, hangs in the balance as the King was partially raised from the underworld and the race is on to defeat him before he can reach his full power. Secrets are revealed, as are lies and the story had non stop action to the end. What will happen to the relationship between the council and the hunters now that the full extent of the betrayal has been uncovered? Can Shannon find a way to protect Daryn and Caleb, especially since her own life and powers hang by a thread? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Another exceptional story . All the Hunters are on full alert as they battle with the King. I loved all of the ways the king tries to stop them from succeeding. And yes there are twists and unexpected help for the hunters. We find out who Lana's true father is. We also find out who Jeremy was in his previous life. Why he was so adamant in protecting Shannon and what they were to each other. Action from the very first page to a delicious HEA for Shannon and Daryn. Steam to the romance of course. This was an exciting series that I will be reading again Well done .

Shannon is still fighting to keep her new life/world safe against the demon king who made his way into it. Her parafini is still trying to protect her and everyone else. But there always seems to be something out there just on the edge, fighting them, whether it's their relationship or their lives. This time, the hunters have some extra help. This story held my attention from start to finish and I really hope there's more to come.

In this thrilling instalment of this series, the danger and suspense continue to escalate, the demon king has been partially successful in getting through the gate and the fate of everyone hangs in the balance, and the race is on to defeat the King before he attains his full powers.
There is non-stop action and secrets are revealed, what will become of the relationship between the hunters and council when the full extent of the betrayal is revealed? Will Shannon make the right decisions and be able to protect Daryn and Caleb with her own life and powers hanging by a thread?
Mad wizard has brought the Demon King into the world, sacrificing the council members for power. Demon attacks, Hunter Daryn and his maté Shannon race to save their world, protecting everyone, finding out how to send the Demon King back to hell. And stopping the Veil between life and dead from failing, allowing all the dead people and monsters access to ravage earth. Redeemed by Magic by Tia Didmon and Victoria Crawford is an amazing demon and demigod fantasy. Katie Hagaman did an amazing job with the narration. Redeemed by Magic is the seventh book in Midlife Demons and Demigods series. Hunting for the Demon king proves to be unsuccessful, and the hunters base is attacked. Can humanity survive? Will there be an apocalypse? Can they stop the Demon King? Listen to find out. The story is entertaining, interesting, and more.

The danger and suspense continues to escalate as the demon king has been partially successful in getting through the gate. Who is left to stop him now as he is gaining more power? Can Shannon make the right decisions as they move closer to the end? This is now the final battle and if -- or is it now “when” -- the king's power is stronger than hers, will she end up losing Daryn or her son Caleb? Or will everything be lost?
The Demon King is determined to breach the gate into the human world. Shannon and Daryn, the remaining Council Members and hunters are faced with many obstacles including an attack on the base. Sacrifices are made and secrets are revealed. A very suspenseful book from beginning to end. Received a free copy and am posting an honest review.

Each book is better than the last one. This is book 7 and picks up where book 6 left off. Each ending paves the way for the next book. When last we left Shannon and Daryn they were battling the traitor and the demon king. This book the battle continues, and time is running out for the end of the world. To find out what happens next you only have to read the story.

Shannon and Daryn have depleted there powers trying to keep the demon king out well parts of him so much so that he can't bring his demon horde through. Whoa I love how this series is going and all the characters how they interact are amazing.

So this isn’t a bite through your nail polish book (Tia has done this to me before) but it is a edge of your seat laugh and be twisted up in knots and hope that your favourite characters are going to get through this book the right way. I loved the twists and turns. If you want a series that will keep you up and guessing all night then this is the one for you.

I really enjoy this series! I have been reading them nonstop. Thinking I am about to lose one of the characters I have grown fond of is a bit nerve wracking, but bearable. No one is safe and there are so many twists and turns and surprises to try to keep up with, but I have to see how it all ends..... I highly recommend this series and Author.
