She was prepared to let the Silverton men fall, but now, she wants to be their savior.
I thought I understood everything there was to know about the Alpha Gods.
Elijah was the one that stole my heart, the best out of the bunch.
Albedo was the playboy teacher that kept trying to tempt me into his heartbreak ways.
Sterling was the aloof one, he couldn't care less what happened to those around him unless it interfered with his precious game.
And Julian was the ring leader of the group, an asshole through and through, and lived to cause me torment.
But after understanding there's more to the Alpha Gods, than I ever believed, I find myself softening and discovering different sides to them.
Elijah isn't the prince charming I thought he was, he is the most dangerous one and able to crush my spirit.
Albedo is fragile and sweet, and fiercely protective.
Sterling always showed up to save me, and though he remained aloof, something sparked behind those dark eyes of his.
And Julian? I didn't think it was possible, but he's the one who changed the most. I don't know if I can trust him, but for the first time, I want to.
Now I have to figure out the truth behind the titles, and find out just what Silverton University is planning, because the deeper I dig, the more I discover that the Alpha Gods are just as disposable as I am, and the only way to survive this might be joining forces.
A slow-burn why choose paranormal romance. Warning, cliff-hanger ahead
Alright what is bugging me is nothing and a lot is happening at the same time. I need to see real development in characters or in relationships to keep me engaged with a larger plot and I am just not seeing large jumps. I think we are supposed to see it as large jumps but it just isnt.
Also I'm over lee. This self sacrificing for everyone that one lends to them being in more danger. Least favorite type of main character. I'll be honest if this continues into the next book I'm out.
I can’t get over all the evil people in this series! There are so many and I can’t choose which one to abhor the most! I love that the characters are growing and becoming hero’s but I just have one last question, who the heck did Julian just mark?
I havent disliked a character like The Dean in a VERY long time. I really hope we get to see his karma in the next book! I really hope Lee and the guys get a happily ever after they deserve. Can't wait to see who Inu and Luci truly are. My heart legit broke for Bedo in this book.
Picks up where the first book leaves and Alberdos secret is revealed which in turn begins to unravel the whole seedy underground network of Silverton.
Characters such as Inu and Lucifer seem to pop up out of nowhere for no real reason, especially lucifer. That's a bit baffling.
The alpha gods all seem to realise Lee is who they want and it's like the beginning of claiming and marking bonanza but the next book continues this!
As always the middle book is a lot of description, the whys, what's and how's and we see Lee get cornered by the Dean, which I have to say was obvious was going to happen. She went in by herself even tho Alberdos knew he had access to "freaky potions and stuff" that can affect a person. Which is exactly what happened....
I have to be honest. The spice level is barely a one which if the story and characters were a high wouldn't matter. But sadly the story is a little.... Meh. Very much aimed at the ya audience I think and even tho in the one sex scene it is not slightly graphic I'd say mid ya.
Will read book 3 purely to finish!

What am I not getting about this story? It’s jumping back and forth. People declaring their love but won’t be physical. Claiming a mate but walking away afterwards?
DNF @91% This book was terrible. I forced myself to keep going but at 91% there is no way I’m continuing. The characters are inconsistent and underwhelming. Especially the heroine. The plot is a mess. I don’t understand all the high ratings. Do not recommend.
SYNOPSIS (of 3 Book Series): FC (Lee) is a half breed wolf shifter living in a world where humans and shifters live together. The FC’s younger brother is very ill and the FC gets a hard fought scholarship place at Silverton University and in return, receives funding for her brother’s treatment and a new home for her family. At Silverton, each year, there are Alpha Gods who have additional power beyond usual shifter powers and are essentially treated like Gods and allowed to do and get away with whatever they want. The FC falls foul of them and is bullied, especially by Julian the leader. Over time the FC and the MCs fall for each other and realise they are all mates. This is over a backdrop where the FC and MCs discover that becoming a true Alpha God is not all they thought it was and there is more to it. The FC and MCs have to fight for their lives, suffer various trials and tribulations and ultimately get their HEA.
The story is written well enough although there are editing issues that get very bad in Book 3. The story started strongly with good strong FC and MCs. The FC fought the bullying and stood up for herself, didn’t allow herself to be walked over and none of those “too weak to resist because of her attraction” scenarios which was a nice change and made me like the FC. The basic story has some originality and keeps pulling you along with enough action to engage but loses its way in Book 3. There’s the obligatory bitchy girls and the bullying is short lived and focusses on treating the FC like a dog so not particularly graphic or OTT. Unfortunately the transition from bullying to being mates is rushed and there is insufficient development of the individual relationships.
There are no sex scenes except some kissing until Book 3 when there’s a bit more heat and a sex scene with each MC 🌶️🌶️. This is an RH book where the physical relationship between the FC and the MCs is individual and there are no group scenes just the FC and one MC. I felt that the sex scenes were a bit rote and some OTT where the author was trying to create sexy heat but failed. They come after the climax of the story and are literally one after the other as each MC essentially “taps in” for their time with the FC. I found it an odd approach. One of these scenes involves pegging which I don’t find romantic or sexy and I just couldn’t understand why the author included it unless she was trying to create some sexy kink. It didn’t work for me at all and whilst there is heat and angst between the main characters I did not feel any real connection or depth to each relationship.
Where the problems came for me were in Book 2 and 3 which became less and less enjoyable with the FC’s behaviour, the disjoint in the story and characters and the weakness of the climax and Alpha tests. It all felt too contrived and lacking in thought. The FC’s absolute need to sacrifice herself for anyone and everyone became annoying and often seemed unnecessary. She never attempted to fight back or find another way around things but simply bowed down and allowed herself to be used against others and on occasion throwing her mates into the fire. There was no backbone and it all felt too contrived. e.g putting on the bracelet without even questioning or fighting? Not telling King straight off there was danger and to get away asap despite knowing her family was being used against her? Immediately discounting Luci and discounting help from another? Immediately dropping to her knees when told to do so and to reject her mates with no push back, no fighting or arguing? Soo frustrating.
The final straw for me was when the FC was prepared to essentially sacrifice all her mates for her brother and pushed them to do tests that hundreds of others had failed. There was no reason for her to beleive that her mates would be any better at the tests yet she pushes them to do them and not just run. One minute the FC is adamant about going to see Inu about the tests despite being told it’s a trap and then she does a 180 and starts worrying that they are all headed into a trap. It made no sense.
By the time I reached Book 3 the wheels had come off the story and the writing. Unfortunately Book 3 is clearly rushed. In addition to editing issues there are story inconsistencies like Julian/Elijah’s father being described as this terrible person who kills people and family members who cross him and from whom the FC is trying to get away and he has treated Julian terribly. Then suddenly with a phone call he does a 180 and becomes a self sacrificing thoughtful person! Mika suddenly becomes Mia, character names get confused in scenes; Sterling’s wolf is suddenly called Lewis; Sterling heard previously about what happened to the previous Alpha Gods which is what Mika told Julian’s father and yet Sterling, when seeing a statue, has to have things explained again. The story just had too many disconnects. All these mistakes jar and impact the flow of the story and the climax. I don’t think this book was proof read or went through any kind of quality control.
In conclusion, a story that started with promise but the devolved into a mess of disjointed story lines that went beyond suspending disbelief, an annoying FC and where the editing needs serious review.
The Silverton Academy has been getting away with its dirty deeds for a long, long time. It doesn't seem that much has changed other than Albedo is the Dean’s son. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that the bad guys seem to hold all the power so why don’t they just wash their hands of the “original” Alpha Gods of this year and move on. They’ve already got two willing replacements so it shouldn’t be hard to find two more. There will have to be a drastic change in hierarchy before Lee and her mates are able to make any kind of significant impact. I guess I’ll never understand why those with power like to toy with their victims. Is the feeling of superiority really worth it? Get it over with, already.
I agree with another reviewer that although a lot happens nothing really moves the plot forward. Lee has accepted that she has four fated mates and they’ve realized she’s theirs. I never thought she had a snowflakes’s chance in hell of getting the better of the Dean. He’s about a million steps ahead of her.
Now, Luci was an interesting introduction.
I’m willing to fess up that I have a shitty memory but didn’t we last see Lee talking to Inu? Then Julian bursts in and finds her sitting in the Dean’s office. It seems like the Dean plans to use the four original Alpha Gods in his test. What about the two new ones? Why does the Dean want the original Alpha Gods obviously mated with Lee?
I almost DNF'ed this book because the first half read more like an unedited manuscript rather then a finished book. The plot is incredibly rushed, I think maybe a week has passed in total in the first 2 books. The saving grace is the characters who I enjoy and have such great potential. I only wish the plot of the book was fleshed out more and we were given more time to get to know these characters and the world instead of barreling through at break neck speed.
I usually get bored with book series, however this one has me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to read the next installment. Would have given this book 5 stars but there's some punctuation and grammar issues that I couldn't overlook for that last star... Sorry!
I only rated the book 4 stars because at the end the author really twisted the plot hard. Unnecessarily so in my opinion. It created a lot of drama and the FMC was stubborn to the point of stupidity. I’m not sure I’ll continue with the series based on the blurb I see for the following book.
I don’t know about this one. Lee realizes that she’s mates with all the gods, and the gods realize she’s meant for them. The ending is odd because I don’t know who’s good and who is bad. I wasn’t going to read the next book but it got high ratings and is less than 200 pages so I should be able to get through it. I’m not sure if that’s a reason to start a book but…
Not what I was expecting from the second instalment of this series...Not sure why she didn't listen more to Luci but I think may come back to bite her...Hopefully the nasty people get theirs in the last book an there's a HEA for the good guys 🤞
Sigh. I liked Lee alright in book 1. Now she’s just blindingly jumping into things while claiming to have thought things through. The last few chapters were a bit repetitive when she talks to the dean. I’ll probably finish the series but I’m not sure I like or am interested in where this is going.
Falling for the Alpha Gods, book two of the Academy Gods series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). After that crazy ending at book one, I was ready to find out what happened next--full of surprises and twists, I was totally entertained.
Our h has a bad bad case of tstl. I enjoyed the first book, but this has went so far down hill, I don't think there's any way to dig back out. I won't be reading book 3.
This story is full of twist and turns as secret are revealed. And we learn more about the Alpha Gods and what happens later . And being mates with all.
Have you ever driven down a road and watched another driver do the craziest things? Shifting lanes abruptly without signaling, speeding up and slowing down randomly as they tailgate others? Swerve so severely you know they’re going to hurt themselves and everyone around them? Even worse, have you seen a driver exit through an on ramp and join highway traffic going the opposite direction?
That’s what this series is. A disaster. At this point, I’m just here with the popcorn to bear witness to the calamity that is Lee and the supposed Alpha Gods.
