A Butch/Femme Dark Urban Witch Fantasy When Fire witch Sheridan Sullivan—alone after the death of her mother—moves to Florida and meets Dylan Bellamy, she thinks she's found a family with Dylan and the Coven of the New Moon, despite a rocky start. It doesn't hurt that Dylan is a powerful butch Water witch who calls to Sheridan’s femme soul and Fire essence as no one ever has before. Sheridan is startled to find out she's been touched by the God and the Goddess as the new Thirteenth witch of the coven’s inner circle—the Anchor, the one who tethers the entire coven to its foundation of potent magick to keep the Earth realm balanced and protected. But... There are black magick sorcerers trapped in the corrupted Dark realm of Trom-Laighe who want Sheridan. Led by an evil demon named Cassius Deimos—along with his lieutenant, Sheridan’s black magick warlock father Michael O’Rourke—they want the flame-haired Fire witch, who is also the Balance of the entire Universe. They are determined to steal her for themselves and bind her magick, so the Coven of the New Moon—including Dylan, the coven’s Portal, who can lift the veil and open the portals between any of the realms in the Universe at will—is left unbalanced and unprotected...even as Deimos, O’Rourke, and their evil Nightmares are set free to wreak chaos and destruction in a Universe without Light. In the race against a poisoned Dark world, the New Moon coven’s inner circle must destroy the malevolent evil that threatens the very existence of every world in the cosmos—before it's too late.
Tiffany E. Taylor lives with her spouse and their daughter in an idyllic little west-central Florida coastal town called Gulfport where the sapphic invasion is in full force.
She writes spicy, sensual romance fiction within the passionate butch/femme dynamic in a variety of genres: romantic suspense, 40+ midlife, paranormal romance, and erotica. The Taylor's belong to the butch/femme community of which she writes about so passionately.
Sheridan has nobody in her life except for her cat and her magick. After her mother died, she does the only thing she can, packs up her belongings and leaves her hometown. Meeting Dylan, a hot and forceful butch witch, her life takes a drastic turn. THE COVEN is inventive and includes the best ingredients of magical fantasy with romance. There are moments of deep dread, laughter, dark secrets, fast-paced action and strong and badass characters. I’m always in awe when an author can create an entire world on paper. I know my review does no justice to this book at all, so I suggest you read The Coven yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Magik, Beautiful Strong, kick butt women, really bad bad guys and a great love story... what else do you need but a cuppa and time to read. Butch/Femme at its best.
I enjoy reading lesfic books I can also learn something from. Especially if they are as well written as Tiffany E Taylor's books are. This book is full of Butches, Femmes, witches, good and bad. I do enjoy it when I have to Google words and phrases. Tiffany writes so well I don't have to do it to follow the story. I just want to learn more. As usual, her characters are well fleshed out. There are so many wonderful characters. I really hope you give this book a read. I dont think you will be disappointed.
I enjoyed the story. It was fun and intriguing. Just one concern. The lack of Women of Color in your story. So many Lesbian authors fail to include Black and Hispanic Women in your stories. We are Professionals, artists, Athletes and Witches and Spiritual Women as much as anyone else. Please consider adding "some color" to your character list. You will open yourselves up to an entirely diverse and hungry readership.
This is a nice start to the series. There are the two main characters but a lot of secondary characters. But the author made it easy to get to know them and their characteristics. And the group band together and face the evil head on. I totally enjoy it.
Omg this book is so good I devoured it in less than a week. The characters are amazing well developed, I had a connection with them within the first chapter. The storyline was interesting, keeping me engaged from the first page. Buy it you won't be disappointed.
Full honesty here,I am a fan of the authors whimsy series. This, a genre I don't normally read, but this is even better. I read an ARC copy and loved it, then bought a copy when it went live to have it for a reread. It has fantasy and perfect!y touched on Wiccian faith while encompassing a wonderful romance and a great saving the world story with everything a reader could want. The characters are real and the story deserves far more than the five I can give it. More please,I love the Whimsys but want more of the cove as well. Tiffany has done it again.
Don't really read about witches and demons, but, holy cow! What a story. I love Tiffany's writing but I was not sure of this. I was pleasantly surprised that it grabbed my attention and I did not want to put it down. I have seasonal allergy eyes (itchy, swollen, and painful) and I could not stop, reading late into the night. You will love these characters and, like me, want more.
This book had good bones but needed to be reined in a little bit. I feel like I keep writing reviews that say "this book needed more editing" but, well, it applies here. The first quarter (at least) moves slowly with excessive lore and exposition (at one point twelve people go around in a circle and introduce themselves with a short summary of their powers and backgrounds, which is awful in real life and worse as a book event), but things become more enjoyable after that when the plot starts moving and especially when the dark realm comes into play. Things never really feel too tense so rather than a thriller I'd say this is more going to appeal to those who want a bit of wish fulfillment, the characters always being the most powerful in the room type situation.

4 stars. This was really good in that I liked the plot and all of the action. The romance was kinda on the back burner which was unfortunate because I really like Dylan. She was great for Sheridan and yes it’s insta love but that’s because they’re fated mates so I didn’t mind at all. The story is just more focused on Sheridan coming into her own with her magic and then battling her father. I also really liked the side characters, they were awesome and so funny and supportive. I’ll definitely read the next one soon.
Is there any genre this author does not write well? Seriously.
Butch/femme witches at their finest. Fate draws Fire witch Sheridan to The Coven of the New Moon where she meets Dylan, a Water witch. Sheridan comes to realise just how powerful she is and now she needs to battle against black magick.
The way Tiffany manages to keep track of so many characters and their different powers without overloading a reader must be magic in itself. I really can't wait for more of these characters so we can see them develop even further.
When Sheridan loses her mother, she moves down to Florida. There she meets a coven. When she moves into the apartment house, she rents it. Sheridan Meats Dylan at the apartment house. And I realize they are destined to be with each other. I found the plot very good, and the characters were very. Real to me. The images of life and darkness were made very real. The book also has some dark characters who the Coven has to deal with. I recommend this book for all who like paranormal romances. And lots of action.
Two stars for the underlying story lines. Otherwise... A lot of repetatiin without added content. Also on one hand distrusting, but I the next second telling beyond everything? Also two over-the-top God like entities? I get they are destined together, but this is just too much! Using expressions like "he's not even a level 6 demon and I can't be beaten by a level 8 or more" wouldn't even be told in a fantasy rpg game (unless between players, but never between characters).
Interesting world building surrounding magic but the relationship between the two FML was not believable for me, more instalove than anything else and that's something I'm not into unless certain scenarios, also the villain was way too dumb for my taste...
I really enjoyed this book. It had a little bit of everything in it that you want. It had action, romance, and some mystery. Keep doing what you are doing!!!!
This book is a fantastic read. Well written characters and build up of the story. If you like fantasy, this is a book you love to read. I got an ARC for an honest review.
