I started the second volume of Diabolo hoping that it would be much better than the first. My small hope was crushed by the end of the volume. There wasn't an improvement at all. In fact, I felt like the volume would've been a one rating if it wasn't for the little inkling that told me Diabolo was a little better than that.

I expected more character development in the two leads in this volume. Instead, the manga-ka added at least seven new characters to the story that it really didn't need. With one volume left, there isn't enough time or pages to fully display these characters in the way they should be. I don't understand the character development entirely, either. There's just questions that aren't getting answered.

The story isn't really improving either. There's some answers this time around, at least, but there's nothing substantial. The volume ended with a cliff hanger, which didn't really help, actually. If I didn't have the next volume already, I wouldn't bother reading it. There's just not enough in the second volume to keep me that interested.

Maybe I'll be surprised and the third volume will be better than the second and first ones. Maybe.

Has more focus than the first book, and where the actual plot begins. It still seems a little unfocused in some parts. The Six Great Spirits are actually accurate, so that's neat.
