Jorja's review:
This book was so good I stayed up all night to read it!!

Grace is a fossil loving teen who lives in Sydney Mines Nova Scotia. While growing up Grace has gone on multiple fossil hunting trips with her dad all over the province. On Graces birthday her dad had to leave her celebration early to do an errand at one of the mines he worked at. As she patiently waited for him, unwanted visitors came to the house. The police were there to deliver shocking news, Graces dad is dead! The police explained to the family that her dad’s car drove off a cliff into the ocean, Grace is thrown into a spiral of sadness and confusion. Three months after the tragedy, Grace calls an emergency meeting with her childhood friends, Mai and Fred, as well as her new buddy Jeeter. The meeting was held in one of the abandoned mines, a hideout they call, The Black Hole. Grace was eager to share what she got at school that day. She found a little slip of paper in her locker. It read, “It wasn’t an accident”! This gets Grace and her friends to dig deeper into her dad’s death, but being detectives isn’t an easy task. As the suspects on the list begin to pile up and clues start pointing in multiple directions, the gang of truth seekers begin to get into more and more dangerous situations. Will this gang of friends find the truth or get lost in the dangerous pursuit?
I really enjoyed this murder mystery book and how difficult it was to figure out who did it? I also really liked how the author talked about a few great places to go fossil hunting, including our own Joggins which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I couldn’t put this book down, I was hooked! I rate this book a 5/5 stars.
